Good Friends.

Good Friends.

Hi there!
Good of you to pop in.
Tuesday’s blog I can do as I please, right?
Well.
I want to show you something very exquisite,
which my dear friend Emma Burns gave to me,
to celebrate our Pergamano and Groovi marriage.
Can you guess what it is?

Look! It even has a B for Beginner on it!

Now you know, right?

Yep.
My very own, hand-made by Emma Scissor pouch.

Isn’t that just beautiful?
She has used the Lace Borders too, which I absolutely love.
I wonder whether she used the Cake slice template….
I bet she did.
If that’s not a cake slice, I don’t know what is!!

And because I’m a soppy sod,
I’m going to put my very first little pair of parching scissors
in the pouch.
Dear Maria Simms sent them to me as a gift,
right at the start of Groovi,
when we were just lighting the match
and getting the kindling going.
There was only a handful of us then.

My word! We’ve got a bit of a blaze going now!

(blatant understatement – how about forest fire alert ?!!!!!)

So thank you Emma, so much,
for my special personal and beautiful scissor pouch.
What a present!
Maria is on TV tomorrow
HOCHANDA 1-2pm and 5-6pm.

  1. Emma is so talented. She shared how to make this at a recent Groovi Scotland workshop and I love the one I made for myself with my initials on it. I am sure you will treasure yours as much as I treasure mine.

  2. Beautiful. Emma kindly showed us how to make these at the last Groovi Workshop in Giffnock and yes you are quite right it was the cake slice template. Such a clever idea. So talented is our Emma. I feel very privileged that she is my teacher and can't wait for the retreat in March along with the equally talented Jo Rice. Uber excited xx

  3. What a totally stunning and very precious gift Barbara! I do have to say that I think that the B is for Barbara though! Looking forward to watching Maria's shows tomorrow, probably on catch-up though! Hugs Gilly xxx

  4. Oh my! What a beautiful gift from Emma… And in Claritystamp colours too! Perfect!
Really looking forward to watching Maria on the telly tomorrow… Great new plates and knowing Maria she'll have great demos to show us!
Have a lovely evening. Love and hugs! Xxx

  5. Hi Barbara, beautiful gift from Emma, lots of love went into making that for you for sure. Thank you for showing us. I had a wee go at picot cutting this afternoon, after doing no Groovi anything for a few months. I think I really have cracked it, so a happy bunny here. Frustrated with the cut out version, especially when it's tiny random shaped pieces, as struggling to work out where best to put the holes, but guess I'll work out my own way of doing it eventually!!! Hope you have a good evening. Love Brenda xx
P.s. It's 'B' for brilliant, as in you're brilliant xx

  6. Beautiful gifts Barbara and I am sure you will treasure them for years to come. It is nice to have lovely friends that do such nice things isn't it? Xxx

  10. What a lovely gift for such a deserving lady. I've got to try that one and I bet I am not alone! I must finish my competition piece first though. Recorder set for Maria's shows. You all make it look so easy. When are the Crowborough open days? Keen to get them in the diary as it is not to be missed. Hugs X

  12. Beautiful and practical present from one talented lady to another. It will be well treasured I know. Been making a card for my God daughter's expected baby boy today. Oh how I love the baby baby plates. My clarity order arrived today, don't know what to use first. Those hats, shoes and handbag plates are brilliant with the word set, so much scope. What a dilemma, do I stamp with my new stamps or groovy with my new plates? Hugs Pam xx

  13. Hi all my lovely bloggy friends, hope you've enjoyed today. Been a bit misty with drizzle here. Enjoyed some groovy today, actually trying to be patient and letting the white work rest.

Hope Sheila comes to say hello, also Dot and Morag hope you are all ok. Love and hugs to everyone. xxx

    1. Hello Pam it's been dry here today but not dry enough to dry the washing! That's my plan too, I must let the parchment rest and make the whitework better! Sending hugs xx

  14. Hi Barbara
What a beautiful gift, really pretty and delicate and what a great idea to keep your scissors safe! I think the B is for Barbara though! My first thought was the cake box plate, it's on my list! Right I'm off to set the recorder for Maria tomorrow, I'm sure I can find some ironing to pretend to do whilst she's on!
    Love Diane xxx

  15. Beautiful keepsake, Emma had a couple of these at Leyburn so have seen her exquisite work first hand, absolutely stunning and if I get around to reviewing the pics I took there I'm certain she was kind enough to let me photograph them for inspiration purposes. Xxx

  16. Hello Barbara

Stop it! B for beginner indeed! I know there is a long journey ahead with snipping etc. but you have progressed beyond beginner. You create some beautiful work. Those of us who started parching with you aspire to reach Emma's standard. It is a beautiful gift.

    Love
    Roz.x

  17. Hi Barb,
What a beautiful gift from Emma. I saw Emma's own one at Leyburn and was very impressed with it. I'm sure you will treasure it, and of course the scissors from Maria. Looking forward to her shows today. Love and hugs Alison xxx

    1. Morning bloggy friends,
Hope you're all as well as possible. The weather up here is very drab and miserable. Had to go to a funeral yesterday unfortunately , but it was a lovely send off for a friend. The church was packed, only downfall was I had to stand which wasn't very comfortable for me but had to be done. Looking forward to Maria's shows today, the new plates look so cute. Love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

  18. What a beautiful gift from one lovely lady to another – I'm sure you will treasure it. Can't wait to see Emma again at the Clarity Glasgow weekend! I'll enjoy seeing all the beautiful parching in the flesh, but I'll be down the other end getting messy!!! Susan x
