You are my Star xxx

You are my Star xxx

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in!
What a busy day!!
I do enjoy working at HOCHANDA;
they are just such lovely people.
Just a quick recap of what I did on telly at 2pm.
It’s one of those ones which hinges on the sequence,
so here it is again:
Spread pink ink on the round petite with your brayer.
Set the ink side face down in the top lefthand corner of a sheet of our stencil card.

and lift to reveal a pink circle. Not rocket science I know,
but we have to start somewhere!

Use Plum Archival now, directly on to the Petite Gelplate.
Won’t hurt it.

Spread it our with another  brayer – the one you use for paint which you don’t mind staining.
What’s the little turquoise ink pad sitting there for?
Bit premature!

NOW you need the Tenacious Teal!
Smear it down the left hand side of the star stencil.
Tap and smear a little.

Press the inky Petite down onto the starry stencil.

and lift.
Now the actual Petite will have dropped off the stars,
as you can see here,
and picked up some Tenacious Teal from the tencil, right?

Line up the round Petite and overstamp.

Easy when you know how!

The Word Chain Alphabet Set is brilliant.
I love it.
I can write what I like and it always looks great.

There we are.
Forgot to take a pic of the finished card,
but you get the picture now.
Got to go!
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. lovely card Barbara. Didn't see show but will watch on catchup. I ordered the petite gelpress on Gray Friday and can't wait for them to arrive so I can start playing!
    love Gayle x

  2. Fabulous show at 2pm Barbara! It's great to look back on what we've had and show people what they missed! Or how to make more of what they have already invested in!
Looking forward to the rest of the shows today and tomorrow!
    Love and hugs! X

  3. Lovely demo and looking forward to learning more later. I did wonder if the ink would come off the geli so its good to know only the brayer gets stained. Have fun on your shows later and tomorrow. Xx

  4. I will definitely have a go at this technique when In can. I have shows on record to watch another time. Had my new hip on Friday. Went up to the ward at 2pm and came home yesterday on sticks, morphine and tramadol so a bit spaced out and shattered at the mo with stairs and walking xx

    1. Oh Chris, I never even realised that you were due for surgery!!! I'm so pleased that it's over with and I hope you recover swiftly. Sending extra gentle hugs xxx

    2. Hi Chris,
As I said before, pleased it has gone so well. Amazed at how quickly they get people out of hospital after major surgery these days. I was in 3 days after I had my knee done. Just take things steady – no running before walking! Remember to do any exercises they gave you too. Take care my friend, love and hugs Alison xx

  5. Hi Barbara, have managed to see both hours so far and thoroughly enjoyed both. Not sure I will catch the next but will definitely catch up later. Thanks for your brilliant demos. x

  6. Hi Barbara, love how you've got the circle to look like a ball, 3d, very clever. Thank you for sharing, and giving us more ideas and inspiration. Watched both shows, looking forward to your ODS too. Glad you're enjoying yourself. Hope you can get a good sleep to help you through tomorrow. Love Brenda xx

  7. Loved the shows so far and I know the others will just as inspiring. You have used my favourite alphabet of all time. It really enhances any art work it is added to. Looking forward to the 8pm show and of course all of tomorrow's. Hope you manage to get a good night's rest to get you through a hectic schedule tomorrow.xx

  8. Hello dear friends. Aren't the shows fantastic! So looking forward to seeing the demos and the cards made by design team for 8pm onwards. Love and Hugs to you all xxx

  9. Hi Barbara
Thank you for the step by step, this is lovely and a great tip on the lettering too. What a great idea fit the coasters and place names too, sounds like you will have a fabulous Christmas with lots of fun. Now where's the pegs and crackers! 😂😂. I hope the last show tonight goes well, I'm going t play catch up with that one later.
    Love Diane xxx

    2. Hello Sheila. I agree it was very emotional listening to Jayne. It was wonderful to hear her voice again. I have to say I've succumbed as far as I am able…..two groovi plates and one stamp set! Can't wait for them to arrive!. Go on..spoil yourself Sheila..you know you deserve it. Love and Hugs xxx

    3. Hi Sheila, the temptation is killing, like you I said after the weekend that I didn't need anymore for a while. So much I haven't used yet, but hey ho Christmas is nearly here. Live and hugs to you. Xx

  12. Hi Barb,
Watched the shows today and so looking forward to tomorrow's, although don't think you'll be there too long! Really enjoyed the first two shows and thanks you for this step by step. The ODS show was very emotional – watching you while Jayne was speaking and just hearing her was lovely. The design team have certainly done you and Jayne proud. Their samples were just stunning. I loved Julie's ( I think) coconut decorations- genius! I'd love to know how she did them. I didn't even mind that you never got your demo finished as I was happy looking at the inspiration. The designs are gorgeous and I do like that they can be used at other times of the year ( obviously not the snowmen etc!) and I am so looking forward to playing with them soon. Thank you so much. Get a good night's rest, love and hugs Alison xxxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Well I needed my cushions! I was blown away by the design team's samples – gorgeous. I had a play with the lace technique straight after the first show and was pleased with the results. I had some lace left over from my wedding dress that I've kept for 29 years, so used some of that. I've used the prints to back my parchment flowers in my coasters- using the positive on one side and negative on the other. Looks good! Really pleased with how they've turned out! Sending love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

    2. Wow Alison bet the coasters are amazing with your wedding lace I've got the clarity Christmas hamper with the petite gelli sets in got some lace tempted to open it but resisted up to now till i watched the show but it's still wrapped hugs xxx

  13. Wonderful shows Barbara all three, lovely hearing Jayne, she should be so proud of her beautiful designs. The design team too excelled in their gorgeous samples. The designs in the coconut shells were amazing. Love to see them in person and to know how they were made. Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight ready for your long day tomorrow. We'll all be glued to the TV to watch you.
Some great tips and inspiration today. Think you'll be sold out before lunch though. Love and hugs,Pam xx

  14. Loved your demos on the afternoon shows, but totally in awe of the fab 'Jayne' winter scenes this evening. So lovely to hear from the wonderful lady herself too – have been a collector of Jayne's fab stamps etc for many years. Sadly today's stamps and plates are going to have to wait until the New Year – forgot I had my motor insurance to pay this month! Still can't complain too much as had a lovely spending spree in the 'Gray' sale, so unless a lottery win is in the offing this week I'll have to be patient! Looking forward to tomorrow's shows tho'. xx

  15. Hi to all my lovely friends, had a great day today watching all the lovely shows, hope you have too. Enjoy tomorrow's, I'm out in the afternoon but have all the shows on record. Love and hugs to you all, Pam xx

  16. Hello Barb, great inspiration yet again, love it. have to catch up on the shows today, as was putting Christmas deccies up yesterday. Hope today goes well too. Bx

  17. Loved watching you on Hochanda Barb. Yesterday's shows were particularly amazing, I was on the edge of my seat and salivating! So inspirational. I bought the 'One Day Special', couldn't do anything else, just had to have it! It's so beautiful! However, I would love the word chain too, but don't know how well that would go down with boy! Probably will have to wait 'til finances get back on track! Or the CC cools down, whichever is sooner! Ha! Seriously though, loved everything and looking forward to Mondays demos. Jayne sounds such a lovely lady, wish I could know her better. Xx

  18. Enjoyed having a stamping show rather than a groovi – thanks – especially as I already had all the stamps and gel plates you had on the show.

  19. thoroughly enjoyed all the demonstrations with the beautiful Christmas stamps over the weekend.Jayne`s stamps are exceptional. Although I am organised for this years cards, I am tempted, Still thinking about it.Well done to all your team for such inspirational art.
    Best wishes to all.

  20. Lovely card, Barbara. Tried to watch the shows on Sunday but Internet connection kept breaking up 😣 so will wauch them on Catch up later. Man aged to watch 2 shows today and really enjoyed them. What BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL stamps! And your great demos! Have a good rest now xx
