London calling!

London calling!

Hello! Hello! Hello!
How is everyone, long time no speak!
Paul here – I hope you have all been behaving.
As some of you will have seen on Facebook earlier today, Barbara is in London
Barbara wrote her blog early this morning before she left and called me from the train asking if I would post it later today.

“Of course” said I (mind whirring with what trouble I could get upto on the blog!)
So…………what I want you all to do,
is leave a comment below saying why you think Barbara is in London.
Your comment can be sensible, serious, funny or it can be totally outrageous!!!
I will then choose a comment over the weekend and send a Β£10 Clarity voucher to the winner!
Over to Barb!
Hi there.
Thanks for popping in!
Early start today, off to the big smoke aka London.
Thursdays blog is always blue, so I have had a look into the archives and found this piece that I did.
Created using the 8×10 Gel Press a bit of bubble wrap, some paints and ink pads and the Graceful Gymnasts unmounted set of stamps
Fits in perfectly with the news that Team GB’s Max Whitlock won a Bronze in the Men’s “all-around” competition.
Apparently it is the first medal for us in this category for 108 years.
The last medal was in 1908.
So let’s see what the rest of the design team did.
 Art by Dee Paramour
 Art by Linda Spencer
Art by Elaine Milner
So I shall take this set of elegant stamps and reduce the price by 50% for the duration of the Olympics
Got to go.
Train to catch,
Places to be,
People to see.
Until tomorrow,
when I shall be back with a private peek!
 Love & hugs

  1. Hi Paul, good to see you pop in again. Behaving, what's that?!!!! I think Barbara is off to the Olympic stadium to take part in the hurdle race and trampolining, that she has been practising for.

Lovely artwork, thank you Barbara. Hope whatever it is it's a good thing you're doing.

Me, I've been doing the Dinner Weightlifting discipline today – tin of chopped tomatoes in one hand, chickpeas in the other, followed by the heavy pan lift

    Love Brenda xx

    1. I meant to say my Freeview telly updated today and one of the new channels is Hochanda, channel 85 up here. It says it will be on soon. It will be brilliant if this means it will be on 24/7

    2. Hello Brenda did you make the funny noises as you lifted the cans and have a good elbow lock? There was an advert on HOCHANDA today saying they were on the move to a different channel so it looks like you're in luck. Sending hugs for you and Daisy xxx

    3. Hi Brenda. Weight lifting and cooking in one go, that is what I call multi-tasking. Were you making 'jerk' sauce? I might have to come and 'snatch' it!! Big Hugs xxx

    4. Thanks everyone xx
I'll need to check my schedule Chris, to see if I've been entered into the Triple Jump!
Yes I did enjoy my dinner Sheila, thank you.
No Diane, I refrained from making the noises, kept them inside to give me extra inner strength for my lifts. You'll need to ask Daisy if I had a good elbow lock, she was judging from her bed on top of the fridge freezer!!!
Ha, ha Morag, you're on good form today!!!

    5. Hi Brenda,we just looked at our tv channels and looked for 85 and it said Hochanda will be live from 3rd November here on channel 85 as you said. Goody!!! Hope you've had,a good day watching the Olympics. I'm not into sport I'm afraid nor my Hubby, been doing a groovy card for my Daughter's birthday. Thought I'd start early but so far I'm on my 4th attempt but at least I have the line art all done now. Love and hugs to you and Daisy.xxx

    6. It's a surprise Donna, a surprise for me too!!!!

3rd November, that's ages, not what I would call soon!!! Thanks for looking and letting me know Pam. That will save me from checking every day. I know that one, only too well, sometimes I've been onto my 6th attempt, although mostly I manage to work out a way to salvage the previous ones! Must be hard for you to avoid it when there's big sporting events on. Xx

The dancing horses are on tomorrow, today now πŸ™‚ Starts at 2pm on the BBC Rio page online, for anyone wanting to watch.

  2. I think the queen has asked for her own private Clarity Retreat, from the one and only Barbara Gray……The Quenn of the country asking for the Queen of Craft for lessons…lol x Sally

  3. Well first choice would be for Dave and Barb to ask if they could have the wedding reception in a marquee in the grounds or Barb has been to London for a business meeting and happened to walk past Buck House. Whatever you were there for Barbara I am sure you had a fab time.

  4. I think Barbara is in London cause she's planning new things for us clarity fans to fall in love with ! πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜

  5. Has Barbara been decorated? – The Queen's Award for Enterprise perhaps? – and, if not, why not?!! You really should look into it – maybe the Innovation Award for the Groovi system?
    Best wishes
Dawn (Jomada-Dawn – but not on my PC and can't remember my password to log in, so have had to use Mum's account – hope she doesn't mind!)

  6. I think Barbara is in London to go on the London Eye ride to get some birds eye views for great new stamp ideas and groovi projects x say hi to my home town for me Barb x love to London and all x

  7. I think Barbara is off to London in search of another pair of designer wellies to see her through our summer, original pair now past their best with all the rain we have been having. Dave there to help choose and to pay the bill. Enjoy whatever you are up to.

  8. Hi Paul – I think that Barbara has gone to London, to Madame Tussauds – so that they can start on a wax work model of her! Well, they already have Queen Elizabeth, so the next step is for them to have 'The Queen of Craft!'
    Take care, hugs Gilly x

    1. Hi to all my lovely blog friends – hope that everyone has been able to enjoy a sunny day. It's been beautiful here, but with a breeze! I have been able to do a little bit of tidying round, as long as it didn't involve bending down! Also had a little rest and a read in Edith – but no snoozing today, I have been able to have fewer painkillers! Love and hugs to you all, Gilly xxx

    2. Nice little steps Gilly and you'll get thee my friend. We've had rain all day! Poor little Penny looks exactly like a drowned little rat every time she has to go out!! Hugs xxx

  9. I have absolutely no doubt that Barbara is to receive an award from Her Majesty for Inspirational Services to the Art and Craft Industry.
    Tonbridge Sue

  10. Hi Paul, I can't remember when the craft awards are taking place but I think this is as good a guess as any . If this is right good luck barb, Dave, and all the clarity team, I voted for you.

  11. Hi Paul you do get up to your tricks while the boss is away. I think she's gone t Ally Pally to check that they've done the redecorating properly and got the red carpet ready for her attendance at the next show.

    1. Hello all. Busy couple of days plus the laptop was busy updating yesterday so I just read the blog. We took the car in for its new airbag and are pleased it has been fixed as we are away to the family next Wednesday. Hugs to you all xx

  12. Barbara has gone to London to sort out the train dispute. Her straight talking will make them see the error of their ways. In the meantime, Paul love the designs.

  13. Evening Paul she has gone to London to sell the remaining colouring books in Covent Garden πŸ˜‚
Evening Barbara another brilliant half price offer haven't got these so might just have to get my cushions out xxx

    1. Evening dear family of blog friends sending heartfelt hugs to you all hugs to all on the blog I have been out with Tom today as the car had to go in for its free health check passed with flying colours.so resting up now .
Sending you a wee hug Dorothy xxx

    2. Here! here! to that. Hope you enjoyed your little outing Sheila. Sorry about last night's comments, was about to do one for you and my kindle started playing up, then it came back on without any of the comments I'd put on. So I gave up. I put it on again and noticed it had done some twice. Too tired then to bother. Thank you for your sympathetic comment Sheila I did appreciate it. I seem to be getting nowhere at the moment, the last two days I've not been able to move my neck without pain. Muscles all knotted up. Never mind tomorrow's another day. Love and hugs Pam xxx

  14. I hope the trip was for pleasure, not business, but suspect it was for posh nosh and an exciting new Clarity development opportunity. Maybe, inspired by the latest bra and pants Groovi plates, she's gone to Soho to get some new ideas!!! x

  15. Hi Paul,
I think she is in London searching an old pocket watch in an antique shop as a birthday present for Dave. So he is never to late again.
    Rolf xxx

  16. Thank you all for your sympathy yesterday and the supportive comments…they do help.
I think Barbara has gone to see a new hanging in the National Gallery….. A piece of her original art work. Difficult to choose one from so many though. Or maybe her portrait in the Portrait Gallery

    1. Thanks. My friend took me out today for some retail therapy and for an early birthday lunch. We laughed a lot and it was just what I needed. Tomorrow I'm going in my craft room..more distraction and something I love to do, and Saturday a whole day of crafting fun in Nottingham

  17. Our Barb has gone to London today
What for?? Well, I'd like to say
that's she gone for a treat and maybe a frolic
I just hope that she hasn't taken Wurka and Holic
Paul in her absence asks if we're good
Us, get into mischief?? As if we would!!!

    1. Brilliant poem Morag, poor little Penny getting so wet, but they're so near the ground all they're underside gets soaked too, doesn't it. We had a Yorkshire terrier many moons ago.xx

  18. Hi Paul
Lovely to see you, hope you are well. Us be naughty, nooooo we are always good πŸ˜€. Well Jackie beat me to the garden party idea ( she's a good friend so I don't mind). I wonder if Sara Davis got her visit to the queen today and Barbara went along to celebrate with her. Well my actual thought was Barbara was so inspired with the frilly undies on Sunday she's gone to Rigby and Peller for a posh undies fitting and afternoon tea. What a treat. I hope they had a lovely time whatever they got up to.
    Love Diane xx

    1. Hello my lovely blog friends I hope everyone is ok and has had a good day. I decided to decoupage a small set of draws today that my daughter decided she no longer wanted and will fit nicely in the study. Lots of pva glue and tissue later and it's looking ok. Could have done without the phone all in the middle of it, was stuck to the phone by the time I finished and I'm sure there's some in my hair!! Sending hugs all round xxx

    2. Hi Diane – sounds like you have had a fun day (until the phone call, that is)! I have got some decoupage paper and Modge Podge glue to try out, still on the 'to do' list though! Hugs Gilly xxx

    3. Oh dear I've just read about your antics with the glue. We must both have been writing at the same time. That would make a great cartoon trading!!! xxx

    4. Sounds fun Diane, bet they look great too. Blinking phones, I was doing a groovy card in preparation for my Daughter's birthday, was on my 3rd attempt just on a tricky bit and the phone goes, thought I can't answer it they'll leave a message and I can ring back after, but the distraction took my concentration away and I went wrong yet again. At least on the 4th attempt I've finished the line art. xxx

    1. OOh, I've just googled the BFG dream jars trail Donna. As I'd never heard of it. It sounds really exciting and for an excellent cause. I'm sure (and hope) that you'll have loads of fun. Hugs xxx

    2. Phoebe is doing really well, full of mischief so she is definitely feeling better! Should be fun finding the jars, not sure how many we will manage as there as loads! Xx

  19. Paul – I've just had another thought! Yes, I know – you probably heard it from where you are! Maybe Barbara has gone to see the display of the Queen's outfits, at the Palace! Have a restful evening, hugs Gilly xxx

  20. Barbara in in london to decorate Big Ben in pages of her colouring book. Get the whole of London colouring, being mindful and having fun!

  21. Hi Paul, having just read the paper I think that Barbara has been to London to cut the ribbon at the opening of the first nudist roof terrace in Parliament Square. Can't wait to see the ceremonial photos!!

  22. Hi Paul, my guess is Barbara was called to London as she's won a craft award for 2016 or probably more than one. Nice to see you on here again. Hope you've enjoyed your day in London Barbara. Xxx

    1. Thank you Sheila and Donna, been using my tens machine but it hasn't helped very much, as I said above got pain in my neck now, bet that's what Pete thinks "she's a pain in the neck" only joking, he been good and gave my neck a massage as its all knotted up. Feels much better now, hopefully it wont get worse in the night.xxx

    2. Morning pam don't know if you read this today I have some cream I use for my muscles knotting up in my neck it's called capsian / zacin cream 25% they do a 75% but that's too strong for me I get it on percription don't know if you can buy it over the counter it's brilliant I use it each day my muscles lock in my neck and I cannot turn my head but since using this I've not had It as bad since you can use it up to 4 times a day which I did at first but now I only use it in a morning you only need very little it burns when you first start to use it till you have used it a few times it's only A cooking ingredient that's in it that burns but cannot remember tha name that's in it it says on it its for relief osteoporosis hope this will help look it up on Internet i could send you a tube if it would help you hugs to help you through the day xxx

  23. Evening all! May be Barbara went to London to see what the guard keeps under his busby!!! And the check in how the Queen is getting on with her groovi plates and colouring book!!!
Hope Barbara and Dave have had a very rewarding day whatever they have been up to!
    Now back to behaving Paul!
Love and hugs to you all xxx

  25. Definitely tea at the Ritz, but with whom? Love the thought of Barbara sorting out the trains, instead of them going to ACAS, she has got them all sitting down for tea and Groovi with a bit of mindfulness to help sort out the dispute. Love the image of big burly railway men, with tongues sticking out in concentration all intent on doing a set of Groovi knickers. If that doesn't sort out the dispute nothing will. Karen

  26. I am hoping that Barb is just having a "Me" day and visiting the palace and seeing the display of dresses, and Maria Merian Butterflies Art Exhibition in the Queen's Gallery,(particularly as she is a German Artist) and being the clever lass that she is she knows by going in August, she will be able to visit again within the year for free!

  27. Hi Barb and Paul, love the stamped images that Barb has posted. Barb has probably gone to London, to make arrangements to attend the ceremony to receive her MBE for her great blog πŸ™‚ Whatever she did however, hope it was successful. Take care all. Bx

  28. Morning all, Thank for your lovely comments and thoughts yesterday, gave me strength.

Think Barbara is in London to visit the Queen for high tea, before she takes a measurements so that she can create a new Clarity stamp – THE QUEEN and her corgis.

Just about to ring Mum to see whats up today. Hopefully will talk her out of having one of those belt things for the bath… I do not think for her it will be suitable. Why she wants a bath, now after all these years of having a shower I do not know.

Lots love to all you wonderful people on this blog. Thanks Barb too – Oh and thanks Paul too.

    xxx

  29. I think Barbara is going to Madame Taussauds to check on the progress of her wax model before collecting her Dame-hood from the Queen for services to crafing and trampolining!

  30. Hi Paul
You do make me lol.. I think Barb is in secret talks to join the Gymnastics team as a coach to demonstrate and come up with more challenging and intricate moves ready for the next Olympics. The trampoline routine Barb did was a ruse as she is a secret world champion πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€. Great projects by the way X X X
