Time for a caption competition…..

Hi everyone.
Paul again with another picture from Barbara, Dave & Steve.
I think this needs to be a caption competition.
You have until 3pm on Friday 27th May.
Post your caption below and I will get everyone in the office to choose a winner.

The winner will receive a £10 Clarity Gift Voucher.

Time to hand you over to Barbara.

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in.

According to my schedule, we should be in Pismo Beach (once known as the Clam Capital of the world) today/later and already half way through our holiday.

Before we end up all wrinkled from being under the water for too long during this weeks blog journey.
Lets pop our head above the water and jump aboard a little sail boat and drift along the coast………..

Lets visit the Harbour

A winters scene.
Snow falling in the background.
Seagulls hovering for the fish.
A common sight along the coast.
Paul Church
A typical seaside scene.
Hastings, Bournemouth, Whitby, Salcombe, Tenby.
This could be any coastline.
Great for scrapbooking and cards for men.

Another typical seaside scene.
This one has been done using a brayer, lightly rolled over scrunched up paper and then transferred on to Clarity coated card.
This gives a really nice watery effect.

  1. Look as though you are having a good time there. Can't wait to read the captions. This stamp set is one of my favourites. Love all the different techniques that are used on these cards.

  2. "You really want to come and help Paul at the Clarity Open Day?"

    or

"Me stand for President? that's the funniest thing I have heard all day!"

  3. Hi Paul – thanks for the competition, don't worry we won't tell Barbara! Great art too!
My caption is:- 'Not so fast Lady B – stay and get into The Groove with Professor Humbug!'
    Hugs, Gilly x

    1. Hi to all of my blog friends, sorry that I wasn't here last night – I went for my MRI Scan yesterday and I was SO pleased that I was able to manage to do it, that I was on a real high afterwards! I'm afraid that we hadn't even reached home, when my CFS kicked in. So, I went to bed and slept as soon as we got home, and just about surfaced for something to eat and then back to bed. Still, more rest today, and feeling much better now. I hope that you have all had a good day. Love and hugs Gilly xxx

    2. I'm glad you managed your scan. I have had two and they're weird and having to stay so still because if you move they can't get the images. It's been wet all day here so have tidied my craft room a bit and planned out a couple of cards. It was nice as we have had a few busy gardening days when I have been to shattered to blog xx

    3. MRI's are horrible Gilly. I'm pleased you've got it over with, and hope you don't have to wait too long for the results. Keeping you in my thoughts. Love and Hugs xxx

    4. Hi Gilly, my hubby used to make scanners! He wound the magnet for the inside. He'd never been in one until his prostate diagnosis. Glad you didn't find it too bad. xx

  5. Hi Paul and Barbara
What a great photo, really looks like Barbara is having fun. My caption is ' go on sign this order for 50 baby groovi plates of the playing cards and when I get home I will design a joker just for you! '.
Fabulous artwork again today, I like this harbour set, perfect for any seaside and of course those men cards.
    Take care
    Love Diane xxxx

    1. Hello all my lovely blog friends, hope you've all had a good day today. It's been lovely and sunny with just a nip of cold wind today. I'm hoping to groovi later on but I heard muttering so of a board game needing to be played so I suspect it will be Dominion not line art! I hope everyone is ok and Donna I hope phoebe is comfortable at the moment until she can have her operation. Sending hugs all round and special ones for Brenda and Daisy xxxx

    1. Oh aye Donna, our wee furry friends come preprogrammed to do the sad eyes!!! Been thinking about you and Phoebe. Not finished my pink umbrellas yet, eyes still too blurry xx

    2. Hi Brenda,
Pleased Phoebe seems a bit more with it today. They are so pitiful when they're poorly aren't they? Hope you're ok, love and hugs to you and cuddles to Phoebe, Alison xx

    3. Hi Donna, Aaw, poor little Phoebe, I hope she's not going to be in too much pain. Love and hugs to you both. xxx
I've finished my pink umbrellas tonight. xx

  6. Hi Paul, Barbara sure looks to be having fun, brilliant. Thanks for posting another photo and Barbara's blog. Lovely artwork again.

My go at the caption is
go on say my name, or I'll tickle you, and again, now once more….

    Love Brenda xx

    Hi everyone.
been a power cut here. Over 2 hours, not that long, but too long for me with nothing, especially when it's so coooold. Lots of layers and boiling hot water On the hob for hot drinks!

    1. Hi Brenda,
I hate it when there's a power cut, especially if like us you don't have gas. I resorted to buying two camping stoves so at least I can cook something and boil some water! Hope you get it back on soon and that you warm up quickly. Love and hugs Alison xx

    2. Hi Brenda, I hope you've got your power back on now. (Although, maybe that's me not thinking straight…if your power was still off you wouldn't be on here!!!!!)
Hope you're eyes are well enough for colouring tomorrow. Love and Lots of Hugs xxx

  7. Hello Paul/Barb, what a great blog post, love the artwork, but especially the pic of Barb and ???
I think the caption should be " Lordy, lordy, lordy, I think you have been overdoing the greens Sir, let's try tone it down a bit".

    Good luck all.
    Bx

  8. Hi Barbara Dave and Steve. Sounds like you are all enjoying the holiday and as for that picture it looks as if he's tickeling you? Love all the seaside pieces of art.
For the caption I would say "this is what happens when you put tape on your brayer, do you remember those day?"
Thanks Paul for keeping us up to date on everything.xx

  9. Hi Paul,
Well it certainly looks as though Barb is enjoying hersel! Samples are great – I love these stamps and yes they do look like Whitby and Tenby – brings back happy memories. Thank you for keeping us up to date, love Alison xx

    1. Hi to all my blog friends,
Just got back from my birthday meal that Dave treated me to – it was lovely . Don't know if anyone read my post earlier in the day ( on yesterday's blog) but I was asking if anyone hasn't received their NDC envelope for this month or is it just me that's unlucky? Off to the Stadium of Light tomorrow night for the England Australia match which is the last of my birthday treats so I'm looking forward to that. Hope it's warmer tomorrow as its cold again up here. Hope everyone is ok, let's ve and hugs to you allAlison xxx

    2. Hi Alison I've had my NEC envelope last Friday or Saturday hope you get yours soon so pleased your enjoying all your birthday treats lots of hugs xxx

    3. Hi Alison, another one whose birthday lasts for a week. Good for you. I got my NDC the end of last week. It may be worth giving a quick ring tomorrow. Love and Hugs xxx

  10. Great Artwork, and it's so lovely seeing Barbara so relaxed and happy.
My caption would be " Gee Barbara, you really are a Groovi Baby, Howzabout coming up to see MY etchings" xx

  11. "Jump in line to get your clarity products!"
Lovely photo today. You n way back from a "Bearing the Retreat" reception at Hollyrood Ipalace tonight and stopped in KFC as the Sqiud balls were not enough to sop up the wine!!

  12. Caption….'now you all know what Dave looks like in the morning'.

I've had a really busy day today including a meal out for my birthday with hubby. Tomorrow I should manage some time to myself.

    1. Hi Julia, was catching up on yesterdays posts and noticed your kind offer to let me try the Perga cutters. I would love to try them! Such a kind thing to do. Xx

  13. I love these harbour scenes you have picked out Barbara and that photo is a hoot. As the guy looks like a zombie with his black eyes and white face I think he is saying "Hi Barbara, dead pleased to meet you". Thanks for setting the competition Paul. x

  14. Hi. I think it should say: Shake, shake, shake Barbara, shake your body line, work, work, work, Barbara, working all the time, Dance, dance dance Barbara, Shake your body line, work, work, work, Barbara, it can wait this time. I love Beatle Juice, looks like Barbara does too. Have fun Barbara, jump in the line.

  15. Caption: "Not so fast, Barbara Gray. We're gonna have some laughs" Actual quote from the film is "Not so fast, round boy. We're gonna have some laughs." before kissing Otho, the Psychic. I did originally think, "Barbara Gray, Barbara Gray, Barbara Gray", as you had to say Beetlejuice three times to get him to appear. I know I am over-thinking the challenge, but I do like the film.

  16. Hi Paul,

    here is my caption:

"Darling, I have all your Groovi Plates but no Parchment Paper. Let´s try a tattoo on you"

    Rolf xxx

  17. "Barbara had mislaid her glasses, and was shocked to see that the California sun really can turn your hair green!"

Delighted to see how much fun you're all having, and thanks Paul for keeping the blog going – loving everyone else's captions too x

  18. "I said you'd get stripes if you didn't do a wheely!"

Very glad to see such happy photos – sounds like the break was just what you needed.

    Ruth x
