  1. There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
He was too full to croak,
    And could no longer float,
So he sank up to his chin in the bog.

    Have a lovely weekend. X

  2. You have made my day as I like be frogs! Having to work today, it is beautiful outside so was feeling down as I want to be outside, but you have cheered me up with your frogs!
Looking forward to tomorrow to groovi Scotland with Emma. Looking forward to learning lots and lots while catching up with my crafty friends!

  3. Enjoy your week end
There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank far too much strong eggnog
    Dave played him a tune
    So he started to croon
Buggar off and give Barbara a snog "

  7. Hello Barb,
Have a great weekend and I'll pop in to keep Paul company, wouldn't want him to feel lonely. I'm too jiggered to give the limerick a go after spending a few days away with crafting friends like our Diane (or Dainty as I like to call her, although she towers over my 5'2"!!!). Alison, shhh we were rooting for Sunderland but don't tell my son in law!
    Oh, all right, here goes.
There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank far too much strong eggnog
It gave him double vision for days
    So he changed his ways
And now plays with his friends in the bog!!
    love Maureen xxx

  8. There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    He tried to be Groovi
    But couldn't really movee (!)
And now he's stuck in a bog!

  9. Enjoy your weekend off Barb and Dave – well deserved. I'll try to catch up with Paul in between painting window frames outside.

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    It upset his tummy
    His poo was all runny
And vile was the smell of the smog!

Oh dear – it must be the ex-nurse in me coming out! X

  10. Apologies if this offends anyone!

There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
He fell down on the grass
    Flat out on his arse
And dreamt he was in love with a dog

  11. These are definitely getting more risqué! Was tempted but thought I'd keep it clean:

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog,
    Next day was a joke
    He thought he would croak
But was cured with a hair of the dog

  12. Okay. Can't resist after all..

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    When he met a princess
    He took off her dress
as he wanted much more than a snog

  13. Hello Barbara, hope your weekend is calmer than recent ones. I am off to Maria's Catterick class tomorrow -yay – so will have to give Paul my apologies unless there is TV in the hall. Will get him on catch up later.
    Here goes…
There once was a lazy green frog,
    Who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    He downed the whole flagon,
    Didn't fall off the wagon
But certainly fell off his log!
    Chris xx

    1. She has a class every month Morag. I went for the first time last month and everyone was so friendly and Maria was lovely. Her email address was on the last club newsletter but I'm sure if you rang Clarity they would give you the details, xx

  16. HI everyone you have made me chuckle this afternoon, fantastic efforts from everyone.

I hope you will soon feel a lot better Barb, and I am sure a restful weekend will do you the power of good.

I have been trying to get a walk in each day ( 2 days in a row) even out in the rain to "get away" from it all.

Nearly ready to up load my entry for the challenge tomorrow, and hope to get out in the garden over the weekend.

crafty hugs and big hugs to all my blog friends.

  17. Hi Barbara,

There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He thought he was hopping
    In fact, even bopping
Then slipped right off his Yule Log

    Hugs xxx

  18. There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
He said "I do love a Snowball
In a glass straight and tall
But I don't like any other grog"

    Enjoy your weekend everyone x

  19. There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He tripped on his flipper
    Turned into a kipper…
Ended up as breakfast for the dog

  20. There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
With his head in a daze
To get back on winning ways
He looked for a princess to snog!

  21. Happy to indulge in some frivolity!

There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
He passed out in a heap,
    had a very deep sleep,
but woke for some 'hair of the dog'

  22. There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He wobbled and walked,
    Instead of croaking he squawked
And the next day it was all just a fog.

Hmmm not the best but it did remind me of a frog joke:

Customer: Waiter have you got frog legs?
Waiter: No, its just the way I walk!

    Have a great weekend. XX

He croaked yippie As he won the trophy
      On offer from clarity

    3. Hi Sheila, having a bit of fun reading all the limericks. I hope you have had a good day. Went to see a cattery today as we are going away in the summer for 2 weeks. Kirri has never been in a cattery before so it is a worry. I happened to mention that I could take all the cats home with me to be told that what she also does Cat Protection re-homing and has two at the moment. So tempted.

    4. Hi morag I've had a restful day hope your feeling better xxx
Hi Julia looks like you will be taking home more than Kirri after your holiday I've been resting xxx

  24. Oh my there are some fabulous limerick endings and love them all, it sure is going to be a hard one to judge, good luck to everyone! Have a great chilled out weekend, I intend to have one too 😉

  25. There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He felt a bit silly
'Cos to slide off his lily
    Was not his preferred epilogue.

    1. Very good. Cor these are all so funny! I am sitting in the corner of the kitchen with the cat, chuckling, laughing, giggling and there was even a roared out loud in there! excellent

  26. Hi Barb,

here is my limerick – a bit rude I would say…

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog.
    He was dancing and prancing
    and flapping and clapping.
At the end he was honking a lot.

  27. There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way to much strong egg nog;
    Too squiffy to get home,
round the pond he did roam,
And, oh my! Gave a toad a big snog!

    Enjoy your weekend xxx

  28. There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog,
    He felt so sad,
    Stretched out in his pad,
And feeling as sick as a dog.

A nice quiet weekend for me too, my Sunday lunch is being cooked for me, so looking forward to that. Hope you get that well earned rest. xx

  29. There once was a lazy green frog
who drank way too much strong eggnog.
    He wandered on home,
    completely alone,
    listening to his own monologue.

Happy weekend to everyone 🙂 Mxx

  30. A touch more Friday Frolics –

There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    More than usually green –
    you can picture the scene
as he tried to romance a log.

  31. I' really sorry for this but my husband came up with this one.

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    His thirst he did quench
    But his buttocks did clench
So he sat on the pan and dropped a big log

  32. There once was a lazy green frog,
    Who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    He croaked and he hopped,
    And gave a big fart,
    Then started all over again

    Must be a male lol

Lovely to meet you at ally pally barb

  33. Hi Barbara
Right we've had a go, family effort, Emma would like the credit for it though !!
There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong egg nog
    He fell in his cup
    And promptly threw up
And ended the night in the bog.

    Hope you like it

  34. they say laughter is the best medicine, these limericks have certainly made me laugh, here is my effort,

there once was a lazy green frog
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    it quickened his pace
and with a smile on his face
turned into a frisky green frog

  35. Hi Barbara, looks like you're all having fun with your limericks. Where's your one Barbara? You should join in too, I'm sure you could come up with some crackers. Glad to hear you and Dave are managing a quieter weekend this week, hope you can manage to switch off for a bit and have some quality time together. Love Brenda xx

Can I ask a wee question – when doing the whitework, once you've done the number 4 tool and rested it, do you just keep repeating this process with the number 3 tool for as many times as it takes to get it proper white? Or am I doing something wrong? Thank you xx

Diane you've got to tell all now!!! Hi my bloggy pals xx

    1. Hi Brenda it's lovely to see you. Maureen is one of the loveliest ladies I've met, very gentle, but not adverse to chating up a nice young man on the train to open the window for her! The local constabulary were drinking a coffee in our hotel and were accosted to take a group photo of us all, there was a lot of chatter and laughter so they were chatting to us and were amazed we had met through a craft blog and had become such good friends even though we live miles apart. I hope you are ok, sounds like you are enjoying your groovi xxx

    2. Hello Brenda, how lovely to see you. I've somehow managed to miss you for nearly a week!! As for the whitework, I personally just keep going back in with the smaller tool(number 3), but I think everyone will have their own preferences. I find the longer I leave it, the whiter it becomes when I go over it. I hope that helps a little. Big Hugs xxx

    3. Hi just watching paul church on hochanda he just said the white work go in with ball number 4 then leave for half hour go in with 3 and keep doing that till you get where you want to be hope this helps or you get to watch him it's where he has done the large bird after colouring it in and cut it out that he tells you this xxx

    4. Thank you 🙂 xx

Sounds like the policemen enjoyed your banter Diane, probably makes a pleasant change from what they usually have to put up with eh! xx

Thanks for the whitework info Morag and Sheila. I'll keep going!!! I can take my time when something requires that, but it seems I need to see proper results for my efforts!!! Maybe the Groovi isn't for me after all! But whitework is only one part, I guess when I add in pricking and cutting and colouring in and stuff I'll be seeing results as I go. I'm going to watch Paul's shows on catch up so I'll look out for this bit Sheila. Hope you are both feeling better, and your appointment comes soon Sheila xx

  36. There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He flipped on his back
    Stayed there, quite flat
Till he Called for a hair of the dog!

At this time of the morning it's the best I can do! Have a good weekend xx

  37. There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He lay in a stupor
Thinking what did I do that for
Still on the upside he'd gained fame in Barbara's daily blog!

    Ann x

  38. Hi Barb, well those pictures really made me laugh, so did the 2 jokes at the bottom. Mmmmm, will have to see if my brain kicks in with something funny. Have a great weekend. Bx

  39. Hi I've just thought of another one
    apologies if it offends anyone

There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
He fell flat on his arse
    in the long grass
now he's famous on Barbara's Blog

  40. Thought I'd give it a go for once, since I usually don't see these competitions in time to enter. Here goes…

There once was a lazy greeen frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog,
    he attempted a swim,
    but just fell right in,
and clonked his poor bonce on a log!

Hope you like it Barbara, and have a lovely weekend!

  41. There once was a lazy green frog
    Who drank way too much strong eggnog;
This changed his sex, shape and size
    And to everyone's surprise
He is now known as Mrs Grog!

  42. Nice to hear you have actually got the time to chill a little Barb, I think you both deserve a chillaxing day. There are so many fabulous limericks here that I'm not sure I should even bother with mine lol. Julia's made me actually LOL.
    Anyhoo, here goes:
There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank too much strong eggnog
    He got totally drunk
    Made love to a skunk
Now they've both got a wee baby skog!
    Have a fabulous weekend.

  43. This is addictive Barb, …..
There once was a lazy green frog
Who drank way too much strong eggnog
    Smiling as he burped and
    then in a big hurry
His mates scattered & left in a scurry
As he made a huge dash for the bog.

  44. Hope you're enjoying your chillax!

I don't often manage to complete your limericks but, on this occasion, an ending suddenly came to me, as follows:

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    He got totally plastered,
    'twas fun while it lasted,
till he was bit getting hair of the dog

However, I think my other half, Gary, came up with a much better offering:

There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    Whilst in a drunk trance,
He booked a shuttle to France –
And now he really knows the meaning of being legless!!

  45. Hi Barbara, I hope you're enjoying your chillax. I've been reading your blog for a while but never been brave enough to comment before – so I hope I'm doing this right!

There once was a lazy green frog,
who drank way too much strong eggnog
    Well he's lazy, he's smelly
and he drinks from a welly.
But the princess still gave him a snog!

    Have a fab weekend everyone
    Carolyn x

  46. I hope you are enjoying your weekend as much as I am! Here is my limerick

There once was a lazy green frog,
    who drank way too much strong eggnog;
    He failed to go courting,
And now he he is sporting,
A face that is quite hangdog.

    Happy Days,
    Lesley

  47. There once was lazy green frog,
Who drank way too much strong eggnog,
As he danced on a log he started to cough,
It caught him off guard and he quickly fell off,
So he hopped up the road for a hotdog.
