Mindful Wednesday. Groovi Globe Trotters

Mindful Wednesday. Groovi Globe Trotters

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in today.
Dave and I will be up in the air as you read this,
headed out to the CHA, Anaheim, Los Angeles
We went last year too,
when we were involved in the Create & Craft US TV launch.
Dave and Barb at the CHA
Even got out to see our mate, Donald.
Err, no! Not Trump!
The friendly one!
While we were there, we made friends with another outfit,
Ken Oliver and Product Performers.
They have become US Distributors for us,
and have very kindly invited little ol’ me to demonstrate Clarity
on their stand at the Big Show.
So I shall be working alongside Ken Oliver,
who is a really nice chap,
launching all things Groovi in the States!
Then Product Performers will distribute to
American Craft shops coast to coast,
and then our American friends can buy from them.
That is the theory.
We have done everything WE can.
We have come up with a fab Parchment Craft System,
which has gone crazy in the UK.
We have kept up with demand.
We’ve even been nominated for a couple of awards.
We have got some fantastic add-on Groovi products
which are scheduled to be launched at the UK Trade Show
in Birmingham next month.
(very very very very very very excited…..)
We have maintained and improved our core products, Claritystamps,
and we’ve expanded our stencil range to the point
where Ken Oliver wants to use them too.
We have prepped and packed.
We have booked the flight and hotel.
We have got fantastic art samples.
More we cannot do.
Now we have to hand it over.
We cannot control the footfall at the CHA.
We cannot control the number of visitors
to the Product Performers’ stand.
Last year the show seemed very quiet
compared to previous years when I have been there.
But it’s got to be worth a punt!
We can only do what we can do, and then let go.
In other words, we cannot actually control the outcome.
We can do everything in OUR power to contribute to a successful show, but that’s all.
It’s the same on TV.
I can only do the best that I can do.
Most of what goes on is out of my hands.
When you stop to think about it,
it’s actually the same in all aspects of life.
We can mix up the ingredients for the best cake in the world,
but if the oven’s on the blink….
Wish us luck!
I shall be blogging from California for the next few days.

Have Ipad will work!
Love & Hugs,

  7. Hi Barb,
I hope you have a safe journey and that everything goes well for you and for Clarity in the States – I'm sure it will. Have a lovely time with Dave, love Alison xxx

  8. Hope you've had a safe and stress free journey, and fingers crossed for an enjoyable and productive CHA.

Clarity continues to go from strength to strength, which is fabulous to see. Groovi is an awesome product, I had a play at the last retreat, but still haven't decided whether to take the plunge and invest in a whole system. The new club is quite a tempting 'in'. Claire x

  9. Have fun Barbara. I love Ken Oliver too. He came to Scotland 2 years ago and hope he comes back. Hope to see you in Glasgow too. XxHugs Rita xx

  10. Good luck at CHA! No rest for the wicked. I expect all your American customers are soooo pleased to know you will soon be available from stockist over there. Have fun in sun. Xx

    5. Evening Pam, getting your Groovi out will be a nice relaxing few hours. How are you getting on with it? I really love doing the lines but still find myself not breathing when I'm doing the white work! I will give Barbara's tip about a card buffer a try, that might stop me passing out. XX

    6. I ordered the Christmas one in the members sale I've got the thank you and best wishes they are so lovley and been able to add different sentiments is good too .xxx

  12. I'm sure Clarity stamps, stencils and Groovi system will sell well in the USA and your demoing is always great and your enthusiasm for the products is infectious which will encourage sales even more. Looking forward to hearing all about it Barbara. x

  13. Ooh I hope you have a fantastic trip – as you say you have done all that you can do. Now you just have to sit back and wait for the oohs and aaahs. Have fun. Xx

  14. Good luck, Barbara(not that you'll need it). I'm sure that all visitors to the show will snap up your products as we do back home. Enjoy your time over there.

  15. Barbara, do you ever rest?! It's great that Ken Oliver loves your stencils and your new Groovi system, will go like hot cakes in the US. 17. Hi Barbara
Safe journey to you and Dave. I've got my fingers crossed that you are a huge success in America, you really deserve it. Ken looks a lovely chap and on your wave length too so hopefully this time with an American behind you everything will go ok. Gosh, what a difference a year makes eh! Have a lovely time, try and relax and spend some quality time with Dave – it's good to hear he's by your side again.
    Love to you both
    Diane Xxxxxx

    1. Hi Brenda xxxxx
      Hi Pam xxxx
      Hi Sheila xxxxx
      Hi Dot xxxx
I'm early today for a change! Hope everyone is ok and Sheila hope your acupuncture session went well xxxxxx

  18. Hi both.Hope you had a safe journey over the pond. Enjoy your stay, have lots of crafting fun!!
Good luck with the Groovi, yes I had one for Christmas, yeah
Happy New Year to both. hugs. Jan.xx

  19. How exciting you are going to CHA and to be partnering with a US company to help distribute your fantastic products so that we Americans can enjoy more of your work! I am going, and will be working in the Charity Wings booth, so I hope to see you there.

  20. Wonderful, that at long last Dave is well enough to accompany you on your travels. It has been a fantastic year for Clarity, brilliant products and I am sure you will do well. Enjoy your time in the States. xx

  21. I bet the folks left behind at Clarity Towers are wondering how they are going to keep up with all the new customers from the other side of the pond. Have a wonderful time and make time for a little R&R while you are there. xx Maggie

  22. Hi Barb – what exciting news! I think that it is wonderful that Clarity is introducing a new product (the Groovi System) to the US!! Normally we in the UK follow the US so well done to you! Hope that you and Dave have a wonderful time over there and that things go well for you at the CHA! Sending you positive vibes! xxx

  23. Know what Barbara, I reckon this is more your style, working with a partner in US who understands that market and does your kind of art. The thing that unites UK and US is language and the thing that separates the US and UK is language. Local is definitely best when tackling such a huge and diverse market and I think Ken talks your language. I wish you all the best with your venture, in it is the hands of the gods now and it certainly won't fail from lack of trying on your part. The show is still one of those must do's in US even if not at the dizzy heights of previous years, I also think you will get great direct feedback from those visiting about how to tackle the market. If footfall not great, then gives you more time with those there to drill down into what's needed. Best of luck, sure it will go well. Hugs Karen xxx

  24. Wishing you a safe journey there and home and a wonderful launch of the groovi it so good Dave is well enough to go too lots of crafting hugs xxx

    1. Hi Sheila, glad your acupuncture went well and the doctors. Good that you managed a bit of groovy, little steps are good. I have appointment for Monday for my back, been putting it off for a while, just doing exercises they gave me last time I went, not helping at all.

    2. Sheila I'm pleased to hear your treatment and the doctors went well and you managed some Groovi today. Take care xxxxx
Pam, casserole was yummy thank you, hope you get your back sorted soon xxxxx

    3. Hope you get some help for the pain no good if pain effects daily things especially our crafting let me know how it goes does heat help with the pain ??

  25. Hi Barbara and Dave, lovely photos, I'm sure you'll do well, they're bound to love the groovy mate system as much as we do. Wish you well, you've done your best so there's nothing you can to, just sit back and take the credit and wait for the rush. Safe journey and hope you can manage a bit of sightseeing and you and Dave relaxation time, or you'll be worn out. Love & hugs Pam xxx

  26. I've got everything crossed for you Barb – makes crafting quite difficult though! Hope all goes well for you over there and I look forward to reading all about it. Take care and be safe, Carole xxx

    1. Hi Brenda, lovely to see you here. Hope you are feeling better than you were. Have you managed any crafting lately, I haven't since well before Christmas. Dodgy back and can't sit for too long, must admit after all the craft things I've bought lately I just haven't been in the mood. Love and hugs Pam xxx

    2. Ah there she is always here when somebody needs a kind word or a wee bit of luck with something glad you keep popping in Brenda to get some love back ..here is yir cuddle…miss yir wee bit banter always makes me smile…XX

  27. Hi Dot, hope you are well, have you done any crafting? Just telling Brenda that I haven't felt like doing any and yet I've still been ordering. Just a blip I'm sure the motivation will return soon. Love and hugs Pam xxx

  28. Hope you have a fabulous time in America – safe and smooth journeys, catching up with friends and, of course, wowing America with fantastic Clarity goodies

  29. Hi Barbara
I think the USA will love Groovi. You are right though – you can only do so much and I am sure Ken Oliver will do all he can to help. I love the craft mat and the colour bursts. Enjoy the CHA and wow those Americans with your talent and creativity.

  31. Wow that is great news that you will be at CHA this year. I live in Canada and am hoping they will ship to Canada or better still pick up some Canadian retailers. Just love the Clarity line and being able to get it here would be wonderful. I must say that your team does do a tremendous job in shipping my products to me very quickly. Just know you will have a successful trip and look out CHA, you will be blown away by the Groovi system.

  32. Hi Barb, so great to hear that you and Dave are going for the show. Looking forward to the blog posts from there. I am sure that Groovi will be as well received in the US as it was in the UK. Have a great time, good luck with the demoing. Take care and stay safe. Bx

  33. I don't know where you get all your energy from. Your feet haven't touched the ground since Christmas and the shows on Hochanda and now you are flying to America. I bet your so exhausted you will sleep all the way! You know that when you have such quality products as yours then people can't fail to be impressed and buy them. I know that they will fly off the shelves in the USA as well. Can't wait to hear about your adventure. Keep safe and much love – Jayne
