There once was a crafter called Sue….

Hi there!
Thanks for popping in.
Late again as always!
Went up to London for an important meeting today,
and am so happy to report that it was very successful.
The first blueprint for the new Classroom Shows
on HOCHANDA LIVE
were drawn up today.
Believe me when I tell you this is going to be brilliant.
More will be revealed….
Now I have to get my thinking cap on, but we’re on the right track!
I was sooo excited when I was whizzing around on the tube back to Charing Cross. Veritably grinning!
And then the funniest thing happened.
“Barbara?” I heard. And there was lovely Teresa Pace!!!
The irony of it!
Of all the millions of people milling around London,
of all the many hundreds of corridors in the vast rabbit warren of a London Underground.
There she was.
And even more ironic, I had only just been discussing her and Massimo, her little boy at the meeting!
Classroom Homework had come up, and I used her and her little man as prime examples of people who really connected with the classroom interaction.
Spooky or what???
So yeah.
Great day.
Caught the train back with Paul Church, which was cool too.
But by the time I had made supper,
I was really not up for making a card.
Forgive me?
Tell you what though.
The awards voting thing has come round fast again!
I dug out a cool photo of two very good friends of mine who I bumped into at the trade show in February.
Perhaps you know them???
They are both class acts. Really creative, really arty,
and good women.

Thanks to you, we at Clarity have been nominated again.
Best Rubber Stamp Range
Best Overall Designer
Best Blog
Favourite Craft Demonstrator/Presenter
And if you think our Groovi Product is worthy,
you could even add it to the Best Products of the Year category!
 TO CAST YOUR VOTES
Tomorrow we have to set up for the Ally Pally Show.
really looking forward to it.
Shall we have some fun?
We do love a limerick, don’t we!!
There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
So copy and paste those two lines below and finish the limerick.
Then on Sunday night, highlight of the weekend,
Dave and I will thoroughly enjoy reading them all in bed!
Dearie me, said the sheep farmer, can ewe believe it??
And on the laughometer, we will pick a worthy winner to send a £20 Gift Voucher to.
love and hugs,

  1. So pleased you had a successful and happy day. I, too am looking forward to the new show. I am a bit pleased with myself – made a groovi card yesterday with the peonies. Would you look at it at Ally Pally on Sunday, if you aren't too busy – silly really – your stand is always busy? I cannot wait for Sunday – hope there are Clarity goodies left. (Cannot come on Sat as I am working)
    Hope to see you

  4. Hi Barbara, I am really looking forward to your classrooms on Hochanda. It seems to be my best way of learning techniques watching you and then giving it a go. Doesn't always work out but we all learn somewhere and there are no real wrong ways in crafting are there?? As for your little challenge, well I'd love to be in with a chance of winning so here goes…….

Who ran out of things to do,
That was before she found Clarity and our Barbara too
Now she has a stash that will live longer than me or you
And she will have to join CCA like me and you!

  8. Not too good at limericks but here goes.
There once was a girl named Sue

Sorry – quite pathetic but worth a smile – off to bed, I go – booting all bad thoughts with my big toe!

    1. I never have what I need either! That's why I have to get a new set of papers or a new colour of ink, or I see a great demo and then need the stamps or stencil. I'm a lost cause! Xx

  9. So pleased that you had a successful meeting. How wonderful to meet There's a too. Well Here's my attempt at the Limerick. Hope it gives you and Dave a giggle in bed on Sunday.

  11. There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
To her mate she cried out " I've nothing to do !"
So with a grin and a swagger to the bed he did drag her
No need to ask her smile will proclaim , dear Sue found something to do! . Joy and love to you all Jan

  12. There was one a crafter called Sue
Who ran of things to do…….

….I ask my husband, he's good at stuff like this…..

He said "what's it all about?" I said "You know the lady you like, who's into the groove"! He said he needed more…I said about the "balls"!

    He said "I haven't a bloody clue"!

  13. Back in the land of UK and look forward to all that Hochamda offers. Roll on 'The Classroom." Enjoy your days at Ally Pally.
    And now for the limerick.

There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do.
    She engaged with her Groovi
    To distract from the movie
    Which turned out decidedly 'Blue.'
    Remember to look after your neck aches and pains over this busy weekend. ;~}

  14. On a roll now – woken up at this late hour, even if heavy day tomorrow – whatever
There once was a crafter named sue

    She went on B's retreat
    Cuddly "Dave" she did meet!

  16. There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
She said "Heck, it's too odd
    Best go read Barbara's blog"
    Now her creativity is renewed.

Really looking forward to the classrooms – I never saw them on C&C, so it'll be all new for me.

I was very excited to see the new offers – like Karen I've had my eye on the Christmas wee folk! And more word chains. Hubby just groaned when he saw it.

  17. fancy getting a mention on your blog! it was a nice surprise and Massimo guessed immediately when i said "guess who i ran into at the underground?"

  18. Hello Barbara cannot wait for your classroom lessons to start
I've voted yesterday and the groovi should win the best new product it's amazing.
Another super sale on your word chains and wee folk .
There was once a crafter named sue
Who ran out of things to do
She found a channel named hochanda
    Saw the groovi had landed
Now she has got endless things to do
    Rubbish at Limericks
Have a restful night with Dave
    Crafting hugs to all xxx

  19. Had to join in as it' s my name!
There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
So she thought and she thought
    Then went out and bought
    A Clarity stamp or two!

  20. There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
She'd played with her Gelli Plate
And parched on her Groovi Mate
So Barb and Dean?( whoops Lee) on Hochanda she'd view!!

  21. Sounds like you had a great day! Will do the voting tomorrow as I need to get to sleep now!

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
    She said but oh no!
To the craft room I must go
And she's now stuck to her desk with glue!

Best I can muster at this time of night x x

  22. There was once a crafter called sue
Who ran out of things to do
    Boohoo boohoo boohoo
Oh what am I going to do
I'm off to the clarity sale
    The wee folk do wail
As they are all in the sale
Now sue will always have something to do

  23. There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
Do she picked up some glitter
    And guilding flakes to flitter
On a card, for a bit of a do.

Have voted already! The new classes sound fab.

  24. Good morning, here is my contribution to the Limericks. I've added a second verse I hope you find it amusing

There once was a crafter called Sue
who ran out of things to do
    can't wait for the Gelli
    to come on the telly
then they'll be plenty to do

    Whilst reading in bed
Dave turned to Barbara and said
    these limericks are funny
    I'm feeling quite sunny
and turned out the light instead

  25. Hello Barb, can't wait for the new Classroom shows, they were always so inspiring. How amazing as you say to meet Teresa amongst all the masses. Will head over for the voting as soon as I am done with my attempt.
There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
    He husband took a look
And just gave her a book
Saying, well Adult colouring is Arty too!
Hope you have a fab time at Ally Pally
    Bx

  26. Hi Barb,
Sounds like you had a good day ( if busy). How lovely to see friends amazing though when you think how many people are using the tube! Glad to hear that the classroom will be coming soon – can't wait! Here's my feeble attempt ( I'm hopeless at limericks).
There once was a lady called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
    She stood on her head
    And bounced on the bed
Then glittered the cat with the glue

    Well, I tried!
    Love Alison xxx

  27. Hi Barbara. Thank goodness we are going to have you back in the classroom soon : ) I will think about the limerick, I can't think of anything at the moment. Enjoy Ally Pally, see you tomorrow. Take care xx

  28. There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
With craft stash from days of yore
Piled up from ceiling to floor
Her mojo was buried in there too.

Hope you have a wonderful time at Ally Pally. I'm sorry to be missing it this time but will be away.

  29. Hi Barbara,
can´t wait to see the classroom again!!!

    Here is my limerick:

There once was a Crafter called Sue
who ran out of things to do…
She climbed up a hill –
    rolled down like a pill.
Her hubby cried out of the loo:
"I book a Clarity workshop for you!"

    Hope that´s funny.
    Rolf xxx

  30. Dear Barb, Good luck with the voting I have done mine.

Here is my effort for the limerick:

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
Her hubby,Dave whispered “lets go cycling”
But to her consternation she ended up aching
Cos her bicycle seat started chaffing boo hoo

  31. How great to have all those nominations but not really a surprise as you totally deserve it! Hope you have a good time at Ally Pally. Well here goes:

There once was a crafter called Sue,
Who ran out of things to do,
    Got bored with the movie,
    So pulled out her Groovi,
And the time it just flew and flew.

I will definitely be voting! x

  32. Have put my vote in.
    Now for my attempt:

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
She had stamped on paper and card
    Grooved border by the yard
Then thought why not a Stencil Tattoo

    At the Tattoo Parlour
    (Owned by her father)
She gave him Jo's Bubbles to view
    He asked 'Have you permission?'
She said 'No, but Barbara has vision'
He said 'Sorry, without it can't do'

Sue sent a message to Barbara,
    On behalf of her father,
To ask what they legally could do
    They had clients awaiting
    In anticipation
With the rugby team first in the queue.

    Anne x

  33. Enjoy Ally Pally. Sorry I can't make it. Apart from the show I love the building.

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of tings to do.
So she stamped and she stencilled,
    She masked and she pencilled,
And Grooved with her Mate the night through.

    Carol x

  34. There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
"Impossible" she thought, frantically checking her stash,
But alas it was true and she'd run out of cash!
So she switched on Hochanda for a bargain or two.

  35. Oh I wish I could come to Ally Pally, but I'm sure you'll have fun, and I'm very excited to hear about the return of the classroom sessions.

Struggling a bit with the limerick as I never have nothing to do, but here goes for my namesake!!

There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
    She loved all things arty
So she threw a big party
And her pals brought their glitter and glue!

  36. There once was a crafter called Sue

Who ran out of things to do

She groovi’d some stuff, while sat in the buff

And glued her left boob to her shoe

    Much love
    Kim x

  37. Dear Mrs. Gray, I am writing from Fort Worth, Texas. Today is the first day I have had the pleasure of watching one of your darling videos, and it is my first visit to your blog. My very best friend, Darlene (friends since grade school, now we are both Grandmothers!) sent me the link, to watch you. I have not recalled being able to watch many ladies' craft/how-to videos, without being completely bored (goodness gracious, even, at times, to the point of wanting to pull my hair out) before they finish! Your videos have not only kept me watching to the end, having some laughs in between, and wanting to see more, by the end! How wonderfully refreshing!!! Thank you, so very much, for sharing your talents and that lively wit of yours, with the crafters, that, if they are anything like me, will be back many times over!!! Bless your heart!!!

  38. Many thanks for the Open Day last Sunday, Barbara. It was great to see the best at work Mxx

There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
    She spoke to B Gray
    Then went on her way
To brayer and stencil the loo!

  39. There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
She went to the net for ideas to get
And now she has too much to do

There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
    To her husband she flew
Exclaimed she had nothing to do
    So they Groovied all night
    And much to his delight
    They moved down the hall
And just had a ball !!!

  40. Hi Barbara, votes are in! Here are my two attempts at the verse…

there once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
    But she Groovi'd and Gelli'd
Used her stamps off the telly
And now her craft room is jammed fu'. !

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do
So she brushed and she stencilled
    Promarkered and pencilled
Now she's stuck to her desk with glitter glue

    Ruth X

  41. Hi Barbara – just popped back to deliver my contribution.

Disclaimer: This limerick bears no intended similarity to the author!

There once was a Crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
    Cards she stencilled and stamped
    Then her home she'd re-vamped
(and most of the neighbourhood too)!

    Tonbridge Sue

  42. Hi Barbara

    Here's my contribution

There once was a crafter called Sue
Who ran out of things to do…
    She sorted her stash,
    Came out in a rash
    Then painted her bottom blue
    Came out in a rash.
