YouTube Tuesday / Bokeh and Garden Birds

YouTube Tuesday / Bokeh and Garden Birds

Hello there!
It’s Youtube Tuesday and time for a neat background technique, showing off our lovely garden bird stamps.
This Bokeh technique, using one of our stencils
(aptly called Jo’s Bubbles, because clever Jo designed it!)
is really fun and very effective.

  4. Beautiful, loving this technique for backgrounds. I reckon though that you turning into the craft world equivalent of Delia Smith as my local Hobbycraft all sold out on moonlight ink pads So I hope you will have plenty at NEC, I can get one then.. In meantime I am busy with your latest challenge, got me thinking differently. xx

  5. Hi Barbara This is beautiful. I do your garden birds and this background is fab. I'm so glad you cleaned your blending mat before you put your lovely shirt in it! Thank you for this video. Take care love Diane xxx

  6. Hi Barbara, brilliant having this demo as a youtube too, more essential tips and techniques for my numpty head to learn from watching you go from start to finish close up :-). Thank you very much. Your youtubes are always so professionally done, while being very informative and entertaining /fun too. And it's very easy to see exactly what you are doing. In the past few months I've watched one or two other persons youtubes when needing a visual of something, which really made me realise just how good and well made yours are! A truly invaluable source for me, and I'm sure many others, who have nowhere else to learn from. A huge thank you from me/
    love Brenda xx
p.s. my sleeves are forever getting in the ink /paint /glue /chalk…. Helped me to learn not to be stressed so much about a wee bit mess and me getting a wee bit messy too 🙂

  7. Hi Barbara
What a great technique and I'm fortunate to own these stamps which are my favourite,so will be giving the bokeh background a go.The finished card is stunning and a great video which I shall watch again before the weekend.Have a great time at the NEC unfortunately I won't be going but hope all that are visiting have a wonderful time.

  8. I love this technique. Very effective and give a real illusion of depth. I did infact try it myself. Ever impatien I set about cutting holes out of varying pieces of card, cardboard and paper. Spent so much time cutting holes that didn't work as I wanted that I actually completed nohing but littering my carpet with pices of paper. Jo's bubbles and Brilliance white are defo on my shopping list.

    Fab card!

  9. Hi Barbara, I hope you are well and have had a good weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed today's video. Stunning project. I have recently purchased these pencils and I have to agree they are brilliant. Kind regards Joanne K x

  10. Absolutely stunning Barbara. Do love the background and these birds and blossom are some of my favourite stamps. Do have them and must use them. In fact I have everything except the brilliance inkpad. Glad you did it on the gelli plate card as I don't do very well on the clarity card, just wrecked one of my good backgrounds that I had done with alcohol inks with cllingfilm. Seem to always smudge the stamping even when I've tried it out first on spare card. Never mind looking forward to trying this. Thanks for a great demo.xx

  11. Hi Barbara. What a beautiful card. I don't have the stamps but have the stencil, so will try the bokeh effect. Did I detect a little tongue in cheek and twinkle in your eye when you mentioned adding the tits?
