Nature and a Splash of Colour…

Nature and a Splash of Colour…

Good Morning Monday Crafters!
Thanks for stopping by.
Monday’s blog is trees & flowers, right?
So here’s a quickie, using an inky splosh
on our square white Gelli  Plate Card as a starting place.
Distress pads used here:
Daubed on with a Clarity Brush, then spritzed lightly with water.

mmmm….where is she going with this?
if she knew, she would be the first to tell you!

Right. Get some trees out and stamp them in Black Archival.
These are the Pine Forest, one of our New Design Club Stamps, No. 87, which was sent out with a project sheet a while ago.
If you aren’t a member of the Clarity New Design Club, and you like what we do, you maybe should look into it.
Over 2,500 members, and climbing…
And as if that weren’t enough, we added a Stencil Club!
And just to entice you, we offered you GOLD!
Anyway. Where was I? Ah yes, the lovely NDC stamp.

Write Nature to the side, using a Sharpie Pen, a thick office pen.

Then stamp another tree from the Winter Wonderland Set
over the T. Mostly because my T was rubbish!
These guys are appearing on telly in Germany tomorrow, so wish them luck! We hope the Germans like them as much as we do!

 Trim the card back.

Add the stag and fawn,
and frame the edges with the Sharpie Pen and a ruler.

I found an off cut from a previous project which is perfect
for adding a little something, and ran the black pen round that, too.

Mounted on white. Enough.

I’m probably already in Germany when you read this.
Wish us luck.
See you on the flip side!
much love,

  1. Hello Barb, like this, the colours are great autumn colours, love the way you have used the tree in the word. I am sure that the German viewers are looking forward to you shows as much as we do. Bx

  2. Good Morning Barbara – hope you had a pleasant flight with not too much turbulence from the remnants of the stormy weather!!!
Love the simplicity of the card – the colours are so autumnal – very appropriate with yesterdays weather!!!
Good luck with the German TV show – not that you need it xxxxx
    Enjoy the trip!
    Much love
    Kim x

    Love and hugs! Xxx

  5. Hi Barbara.
What Channel are you on in Germany?
I can tell my German cousin, and I can watch if you are on when I visit them in Berlin.
    Hugs

  6. Hi Barbara, well who knew a splodge of ink could turn into such a beautiful scene? Really lovely. I'm sure they will love your Winter Wonderland set in Germany. Have fun in Munich! xx

  7. Hi Barb,
I think this is gorgeous. I love trees anyway and have quite a few of your tree and grass stamps. I'll have to check to see if I've enough small ones to cover the whole of the word nature, as my handwriting is rubbish (I was going to type c**p but didn't want to offend anyone).
Knock them dead in Germany (not literally) and break a leg (again not literally).
Have a safe journey there and back xx

  8. I love this! It's so cool that a splodge can turn into a masterpiece! I love those deer! You will be awesome in Germany! Just don't forget to be back here for us on Thursday! We need you! xxx

  9. Lovely as always Barbara, have been using those trees on my Christmas cards, they are so useful. Hope all goes well on your travels, I'll try to watch you on German tv if I can find it 🙂 xx

  10. Am sure the German will love "Winter Wonderland Set". With the Schwarzwald not too far, it will be great. I love your card, and the matching piece you've add at the bottom. As we said in France "m……" for the show.
    Laurence xx

  11. I'm loving all these cards you're doing with those inky abstract backgrounds! Hope you have a great trip to Germany and that it's not too bumpy on the return journey – we've had a very windy, wet time overnight and this morning, but it seems to be getting calmer now! Susan x

  12. I think this is wonderful Barbara with lovely colours and a great design. If I wrote 'nature' across my card it would probably look a terrible mess..lol. , but you are so artistic! Have a great time in Germany, and I'm sure all your stamps will go down a storm. x

  13. Hi Barb,
Absolutely gorgeous! Love the colours you have chosen and as I have the stamp I might just give it a go! Might have to find a sentiment stamp that will fit as I'm not sure my handwriting would be as good as yours! There's another idea for some word chains – nature, summer, autumn etc. have a great time in Germany, I'm sure you will knock them dead! Safe journey home too. Love Alison xx

  14. this is beautiful Barb – love the colours – great use of the pen too! Hope Germany is going well – i know it will – looking forward to Thursdays shows! Hugs rachel xx
