We’re still flying high down town!!!
Happy Sunday!
Just a quickie from London.
Tate Modern here we come!
Tate Modern here we come!
A happy post.
And a chance to win a £20 Gift Voucher.
Very very easy.
Just write the instruction to the card!
Name the colours used etc, the ink pads and the sequence.
Then – and here’s the tricky bit –
write a little poem. Or finish my limerick!
A rhyme which befits the artwork.
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky,
now you finish it…..
Send your entry to barbaragray123@hotmail.com
but please write your little poem below.
That will surely give us all so much pleasure on this Sunday.
It does the soul good to ponder a poem….

There once was a boy who could fly.
He would soar with the birds in the sky.
Floating with ease, in the warm summer breeze,
Watching the beauty beneath roll on by.
Fabulous x
Hi Barbara… Love the card … Have a great day …x
Hi Barb, lovely image, enjoy your day at Tate modern, will have to give the limerick some thought, as have early Sunday brain at the moment. Bx
Hi Barbara, lovely card. I'll have to think about a poem for this, not my forte though so could be thinking for a while!!! Have a fabulous day in London. xx

There once was a boy who could fly.
He would soar with the birds in the sky.
But he ate lots of things and broke all the strings.
Now he's a Clarity Stamp you can buy.
Haha. Very good xxx
There once was a boy who could fly.
He would soar with the birds in the sky.
He would float there all night and all day
All because of talented Barbara Gray!
Love the card, but oh dear, the limerick. It will take quite some time for me to think one out. Could be here for a very long time!
There was once a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
Whilst doing a loop, a bird did a poop
And hit the poor lad in the eye.
Love Val in Spain x
Hahaha! Sitting on a train, laughing my head off. Very good xx
Brilliant , appeals to my sense of humour 🙂
Hi Barb,
Love the composition, but you do love to tease us!
My feeble try is:-
There once was a boy who could fly,
he would soar with the birds in the sky,
and when night came he'd float back to ground,
contented and happy with what he had found.
Beautiful card love the colours xxx
Lovely card, so pleased I invested in that stamp as it is fabulous! Here's my attempt with your limerick:
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky,
The clouds floated past,
As he held tight and fast,
And watched all the scenes whizzing by!
Afternoon after a think here goes. !! There once was a boy who could fly, He would soar with birds in the sky. He shouted very loudly I can fly, He frightened the birds in the sky, They had never seen or heard a boy in the sky. He would fly up highy through the clouds then low under the clouds. The birds thought what fun then joined the boy in the sky . In and out the clouds they would go Playing hide ad seek with the boy in the clouds . The birds came from far and wide to play wth the boy in the sky .
Hi Barbara I hope you enjoyed the Tate Modern and the weather has been kind to you today. Lovely card I really must get that stamp he has so many uses! Right here goes
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
So far up he would go
Til the clouds felt like snow
Then upon them feeling sleepy he'd lie
Have a great day

There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
Over magical lands
Over earth, sea and sands
In his dreams until morning was nigh
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
Drifting on the breeze, above houses and trees
He could go incredibly high!
Good evening I hope you have had a lovely weekend in London at least the weather has been kind to you. We are visiting on Thursday, a day trip to the Tower of London. We have never been and feel we should visit our own sights. Any way I will have a go at your little task.
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
Up to the clouds he did reach
Far below was the beach
Where a young girl drifted by
And she had LOVE in her eye.
Love Lynne xx
Aren't these limericks and poems just food for the soul. Superb. Each and every one xxx
My husband likes a happy ending. Here's his attempt:
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
With blackbirds he flew
three and twenty, who knew
They'd all be baked in a pie?
(serves him right for being able to fly)
Busy day, was planning to have the line about pooping in the eye but I have been beaten to it! Oh well, will have to be quicker next time. Will have a try at explaining the card. XX
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
The higher he flew the clarity he saw until the moment a
Seagull pooped in his eye.
There once was a boy who could fly
He would soar with the birds in the sky
He thought it was magical
But twas really quite physical
Oh what a grand way to die !!
Love your artwork Barbara. What fun the limerick are. Pat x
Must have a go :
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky,
As his feet left the ground
And he looked all around
He was heard to say " oh my, oh my ! "
Here goes my attempt
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky
so high he would go toing and fro
and chasing his dear shadow nearby.
Morning Barbara, had a busy day yesterday so only just catching up – love the art – need to put my thinking cap on!!!
Glad you are enjoying your weekends now!!! And what a lovely way to spend it with the theatre and a trip to the museums!
Much love

There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky
With a magical leap
He would leave his deep sleep
And enjoy all his daydreams on high!
H Barbara. Beautiful card, I love the colours and the whole thing is so soft anddreamy : ) There are some very good, and some very funny, poems here today. My contribution is below.
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky
Together they flew to lands far and new
Enjoying the sights without hue and cry!
I hope you enjoyed your day in London. Take care.
Hi Barb,
This card is gorgeous using possibly my favourite stencil. Love the colours too. Think I'm going to have to get the flying boy stamp! Hope you enjoyed London although I'm not a fan of Tate Modern – give me the National Gallery or Courthould Gallery any day. Love Alison xx
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend. Lovely artwork, must get this stamp and stencils. The limericks make a very entertaining read xx
There once was a boy who could fly, he would soar with the Birds in the sky
Throughout his Magical, Mystical Flight, from early morning till the dead of night.
The birds they would wonder and stare, at this boy who was just hanging there
while they flew through the breeze and the magical trees and the word chains
floating about in the Air! Ta Da !
This is lovely Barbara, really soft and pretty colours and the wonderful boy withthe birds. Unfortunately I was so busy yesterday preparing for a visitor that I didn't have time to do the instructions, and then she rang this morning to say she now can't come as her cat's ill. Oh well, just for fun here is my limerick:
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky,
Oh what magical fun,
Midst the clouds in the sun,
But with night time the magic did die.
I hope you enjoyed the Tate Modern. We went there once when it first opened and I remember the huge metal spider sculpture in the entrance hall. x
There once was a boy who could fly,
He would soar with the birds in the sky
His flight was fantastical
And ever so magical
But he came back to earth by and by!!!
Haha! I am sorry it's a bit late….I've been at Mandy's all weekend! Not long now to the retreat!!! I've got my hair dye ready!!!! Xx
Hi Barb I never got round to coming back to finish the limerick it was my Birthday for this blog and I wasn't having a great day health wise and a busy day visitor wise, so I did have a lovely day 🙂
I love the boy stamp, but there are so many stamps I have on my want/need list.
