YOU TUBE Blue Tits and Blue Skies….

YOU TUBE Blue Tits and Blue Skies….

Hello there!
Thanks for stopping by. It’s
YOU TUBE TUESDAY!

Easter’s round the corner,
the sun is shining,
the morning chorus is wonderful at dawn,
and I’m feeling truly blessed.
So this week’s You Tube reflects all these aspects.
There are 2 parts to this Tutorial. (16mins + 13mins)
Both can stand alone, but I thought it would be cool to show you
a simple little trick, how to position a smaller piece of artwork over its larger friend.

The following ingredients were used:
(Both of these masks are in the Rooftops & Castle Mask Set I used in last Tuesday’s Video)
Butterscotch Adirondack
Speedball Brayer
Ruler & Sharpie Pen
Make-up sponges

So now we have the base-card.
We now know how to saturate the sky with colour and create a dramatic golden moon/sun.
ready for another little session?
Let’s see how we add a picture within a picture…

Hope you enjoyed that.
Do me a favour, please.
Go to our You Tube Channel –
and click the Subscribe button in the top righthand corner.
That way, you’ll be notified each time we release a new video.
If you haven’t already signed up to YouTube,
it’ll only take a couple of seconds,
and if you already have a Google account,
all you have to do is log in once.

Next time, we’ll tackle the Gelli Plate…..
much love,

  1. Two for one today, I love it. This is so clever, I must try this one, I have the stamps and masks, so I have no excuse. Although I do have a busy week this week but next week, I have promised myself a craft week, and will be my first project.
It was lovely to see you at Ally Pally, your stand was always busy, no matter what part of the day I came by. I'm off to bed now. Take care x Sally x

  2. Loving the you tubes and a twofer today just fabulous, super idea with the window and something I will give a try. Thanks again Barbara and have a nice day x

  3. Hello Barb, wow, loved both videos, really great idea and you get a stunning card. Don't have the Blue tits yet, but probably will have at some point. Look forward to much more inspiration, and having the you tube videos to go back to for reference is absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to a 4 day weekend to get some crafting in. Bx

  4. WOW ! Fabulous tutorials. I especially look forward to your Tuesday posts & excited that there's a hint of a Gelli one on the horizon. Must dash to fit in my morning exercises….. more like gelli on a plate, gelli on a plate, wibble wobble, wibble wobble….. you know the rest !!

  5. What an absolutely fab way to start my day! Both of these tutorials are just fantastic – I particularly liked using the ink pads and sponges to colour in the images – in all the times I have watched you I do not think I have seen you do this so this was a real treat to see this in action and watching you do it makes it look relatively easy and very achievable. The quality of both of these recordings is superb – the pop out box in the top right hand so professional, the quality of the sound – but very importantly the pace of the tutorial are fantastic. I have watched these twice – once direct from here the second taking them in to YouTube itself where I have now created my watch list – named Clarity of course – and added both of these to my watch list – that way I can go to YouTube at any point – pick up my Clarity List and pick whatever tutorial I want – how cool is that!!!
So anyone who is as keen on this as me – go make yourself a YouTube watch list – you just cannot go wrong saving these tutorials there – then you have Barbara at your finger tips any time you like!!
Thank you soooo much Barbara – I learn from watching rather than reading so these tutorials will be a strong favourite of mine – let the good times roll
    Much Love
    Kim x

  6. Morning Barbara, this is just lovely. I have all the ingredients right now, except TIME. However I will make time at some point soon to have a go at this. I love these uTube demos, as it's like having you right there, just when I do have the time to play. Thank you so much.

  7. Morning rom a very sunny France. The birds are singing and all the flowers are blooming, the scenery is just wonderful. Thanks for explaining how to register on You Tube, I din't know how to do it, but now it is done and sorted…. I love your card, and I can tell you that you're getting very good at those You Tube tutorial Barbara. Can't wait for next week….. xx

  8. That was excellent with over head filming like it was a studio recording on TV so exciting we ca watch you now weekly and you don't have to trundle a cross the country to do it. Just love the tits too cannot wait till next week part two you are all amazing thnsk you xxx

  9. Hi Barbara. Thanks for the Two-Fer : ) I love the picture in a picture, great. I am off now to create a watch list on You tube, hopefully!, so that I can return to this easily. Have a good day, enjoy the wonderful Spring sunshine and the birds singing. At the moment the main one I can hear is an angry blackbird, must be a cat around by the sound of it! Take care.

  10. Ooo double!!! That was unexpected but very lovely. It just meant I had to sit and drink my morning cuppa even more leisurely than normal which is not a bad thing at all!
I love this blue it stamp…it never fails to make an impressive card. thanks for sharing today's card and two tutorials! Marvellous! Xxx

  11. This is so frustrating as I'm on hols with no wifi so would use my data allowance up if I watch the videos. Will be moving the caravan later so will catch up soon I hope. ….!!!!

  12. Ooh. Something to watch while I have a mid morning coffee. I love watching a demo knowing I have the 'makings' to have a go myself.
    Beryl xx

  13. Hi Barbara, love Tuesdays now! Only strange thing is that on YouTube via my TV I can see all the other recent clips, but not todays. Hmm … plan b on my phone for part one, but will have to wait for part two on the laptop later. I'll be able to try these techniques out as I have the garden birds. Later tho …. have a birthday card for my friend which needs finishing touches.

  14. Barb, you always make it look so easy and doable. I want to give it a try. I need the word chains and the blue tits now. They are next on my list…

Would you bring out word chains with Mum, Dad etc on them. I just live the font, lol live, it is meant to be love. I think a font can make a difference to a project x

I love the You tube Tuesday and look forward to it from Wednesday lol. I have learned so much, thank you x

  15. Ooooo another use for my blue tits and masks, even the brayering didn't seem too tricky. Love Tuesday so I can watch your demos. My biggest learning point from this video is not too much ink when doing clouds. I know when I last did them they were quite blue and I didn't think I was putting that much ink down. Note to self – easy tiger! XX

  16. Love, love, love it !! The blue tit stamps are wonderful and your tutorial is great. My cat Molly has sat on the arm of my chair watching with me I think she enjoyed it too. Really enjoy Tuesdays. Joan x

  17. I pop in every day to see what you are up to Barbara, but don't always comment. I'm off to watch your videos now, thanks in advance for sharing them! Have a good day, the sun is out here, and it really feels like spring now.

  18. I avidly await your blog everyday. You are so inspirational and make things look so easy, that makes me think, I CAN do that!. My bash isn't quite as good as yours, but, I keep going. Thank you Barb xxxx

  19. I think I have subscribed, but , you might know, it was not in the top right hand corner on mine, but about halfway down on the left. Time will tell if I got it right. I am off in a minute to transfer today's videos to the Kindle Fire so I can use it while I am away with no internet access. Great tutorials as usual, and I love this set. xx Maggie

  20. Good morning Barbara, two great tutorials in one day, you're spoiling us-thank you! My daughter has helped me to subscribe to the Youtube channel as I had got myself into a muddle, I'm hopeless when it comes to technology! I love the Blue Tit stamp and you make it look so easy to colour it using just the blending brush and make up sponge. I think I would keep the two projects separate as it seems a shame to cover up such a large part of the image although I can appreciate the effect of adding a window. x

  21. Brilliant videos and lovely card. I like the idea of the smaller window piece over the main artwork as well as the alternative of a larger stamp on a small card. Great ideas. Watched you using the mask to colour the bird with ink at the NEC, but it is so brilliant having videos to watch over and over again. I haven't tried brayering yet, but you always make it look so easy. Maybe I should get the brayer out and have a go. x

  22. Thank you Barbara for two great videos with a great stamp set! Lovely to see how the large bird works on smaller card on its own or as a window on a larger card. It's given me some ideas for this and other larger stamps. I look forward to your blog everyday and the addition of the videos is the cherry on the cake! 🙂 xx

  23. Stunning Barbara beautiful art work love the way you did both cards fabulous to watch on YouTube such inspiration to us all who watch big crafting hugs to all xxx

  24. Hiya Barbara,You are truly Talented and an inspiration to us all!

Your energy and enthusiasm is fantastic, loving your blog and the You Tube channel too!

The videos were great and those tits are great, think I need to get one !

Have a great day and an even better Tomorrow-Always !

    Big Hugs
    xxx

  25. Great videos, thanks for the cloud demo ,I have not managed to get them quite right yet but like previous person think I have been loading too much ink. Beautiful result and the videos are fab. Lovely to have a tutorial. Thanks Lynne xx

  26. Just lovely! Thank you for getting your garden birds out again 🙂
You're getting far too professional!! (I did notice a little titter when the small birdie got stuck to the large mask though :-))
    I'm off to You Tube……….
Have a relaxing evening, Carole x

  27. Well Barbara, you've done it again. Managed to make a great idea even better by giving us two for the price of one! Loving these tutorials and it is great that you really can go at your own pace. I loved how you coloured the tit, such a simple but effective method. I need to practise more with makeup sponges as I never seem to get good results with them. Roll on Easter break so I can have a play!

  28. Gorgeous creations – the Blue Tit stamp is a real stunner and is at the top of a very long list! I also love these masks we can purchase – so much easier than stamping and fussing cutting them. Am now following/subscribed on You Tube. Thank you for sharing this with us – a gorgeous, gorgeous card and window Karen x

  29. interesting layout today. great idea this you tube. at least it makes up for classroom. and we can see you in action rather than just reading. it helps me loads as i'm a visual type hugs xx

  30. Two lovely videos Barbara, and the bird is just beautiful. Why is it when I brayer or use inks at all I always end up in a mess, and even if I try not to get marks where I don't want them they still seem to appear from nowhere, but you look calm, unruffled and perfectly clean including your hands ..lol. I must obvious keep trying. Your work is perfection Barbara. Thank you for these demos, they are a great help. x

  31. Oh, I'm away and have a rubbish broadband connection! Will have to wait until I get home tomorrow, and then I'll have two videos to watch – that and my new stamps will make the end of my holiday bearable!!! Thanks, Susan x

  32. Not managed to watch the videos yet but have subscribed to the Clarity Youtube channel so can watch them on the train tomorrow hopefully! I do have the Blue Tit stamp set and have yet to use it so am pleased to have these videos as inspiration.

  33. I knew I'd regret not getting the blue tit stamp at Ally Pally, I picked it up and put it down so many times, but gave in and bought others instead. It will definitely have to put it top of my wish list now so I can try and stamp along with the YouTube video, I wouLd love to make something that looks as special as this card
