HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!!

So Wednesday’s Blog is something New, and how fortuitous that it should be New Year’s Day! I am writing this on New Year’s Eve. The kids have gone to a party and Dave has kindly given them a lift. So I have got 10 minutes to myself, to reflect.
2013? What a year! New? New? The whole year has been laced with NEW! From Gelli plates, to stencils and masks, from the new DVD to this new blog.
Our little Clarity business has gone from strength to strength. To begin with, we started moving in a different artistic direction with the Gelli plate. This in turn prompted us to start designing and making Claritystencils. And a whole new division was born. This new creative direction of course begged a tutorial DVD, and then it occurred to me, that a daily blog might be fun, too. And it really, really is.
Have I ever told you how much I love my job? I do. For starters, I love the people I work with. They are kind, clever, motivated and loyal. We work hard, that’s for sure, but we have a good laugh, too. In fact, please allow me to introduce the Clarity Team to you. Here we are, having Christmas lunch. Wanda and Claire were on holiday, but the rest of us had a lovely meal together, before we all went home for Christmas.

Going into the New Year with these good people is truly a blessing. 
And I know it.

It’s brilliant doing a job which is appreciated, too. Every single day, I get told how well I am doing and how great Clarity is. So many people work really hard, just as hard, and all they get is criticism and negativity. So, yes, I love my job.

I’m actually really looking forward to getting going again in the New Year. In fact, if you are reading this on the first day of the year, I can tell you I am already at work, getting ready for the TV show on Sunday. Whilst you are reading this, I’m alone in the artroom. No music, no noise, no machinery. Just me and my art. Dave will have taken young Mark up to Heathrow. Grace will be asleep and then chilling with her best friend, Lizzie. And I will be in my element, working my way through the Sunday demos. How is that work?
So I just want to thank you for spending your time reading this blog every day, and for supporting Clarity.

  21. You know it is quite comforting to realise that I am not the only one up and about at this time of night. Just done battle with the mad taxis on the roads round town and now just sitting chilling with the poor dogs, who had been abandoned for the evening (Gemma has just brought me a plastic bag she is sure I desperately needed from the floor, and is so pleased with herself).. Everyone at the party thought your Mum's potato salad was fantastic and they all want the recipe. so thank you for sharing that with us all. I hope that you and Dave and your family and all the Clarity team continue to enjoy your work so much in 2014, and that you all have a great New Year. Looking forward to your workshops and all the other wonderful ideas you are putting into place, but don't forget to build in time for yourselves. xxxx Maggie

  63. The Chrissie photos are great. Please thank for me the people in the office at Clarity. Every time I phone they are so kind and helpful, especially when, in the past, I have been a tad naïve or requested some sort of help for a friend. The 'team' are just fantastic.
