82 Days To Christmas – Robins

Hi there!

Well, this Sunday morning finds us a long way from home.

Dave and I are in San Francisco, spending some precious time with our little grandson Michael. And I have a feeling that, while you’re reading this, there may well be a cuddle going on somewhere! What a wonderful thought. ❤️

It’s funny, isn’t it, how certain little things make you think of home when you’re away.

There’s a little robin redbreast in our garden at Tinker’s Farm who follows us everywhere. If I sit on the bench with a cuppa, there he is, usually about an arm’s length away. If Dave chops wood, there he is again, perched on a log watching proceedings. And when I load things into the car, he sits on the fence keeping an eye on me as I walk backwards and forwards. When we finally put the Totem for Dad in the garden recently, there he was too, watching us the whole time

Mum has a pet robin in her garden too.

They really are the most companionable little birds.

So, while we’re thousands of miles away in California, I thought we’d shine a light on some of the lovely robin designs we have in the Clarity cupboard.

GROOVI FIRST…

Aren’t they lovely? There’s something about a robin on a Christmas card that immediately says Christmas to me. Perhaps it’s the flash of red against the winter colours, or simply because they’re such a familiar sight in our gardens.

And look how differently they can be interpreted in parchment. Soft and delicate, bright and festive, traditional or completely contemporary. That’s the beauty of Groovi — we give you the line art, and where you take it is entirely up to you.

How cute are they?!

Three little singing robins, ready to perch on a branch, sit amongst the snow or simply take centre stage on a clean and simple Christmas card.

There we are. 82 days to Christmas and today’s little bit of inspiration comes courtesy of one of my favourite garden visitors.

I wonder whether our robin back home has noticed we’ve disappeared. Knowing him, he’s probably keeping an eye on the place until we get back. ❤️

For now though, there’s a little boy here in San Francisco who has our undivided attention. And quite right too.
