Design of the Week – A Walk Through the Meadow Grasses

Design of the Week – A Walk Through the Meadow Grasses

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. It’s time for our weekly design salute.

To celebrate being in business for 30 years this year, we focus on a popular design, with 30% off + Club discount for a week! This week I thought we might take a walk through the meadow grasses…

These are my kind of build-a-scene stamps, but they also work beautifully as delicate centrepieces. Let’s take a look.

Available in stamps…

and also Groovi…

Here is some inspiration from the Design Team

I had dental surgery yesterday, so am not feeling very well today. Nobody told me how painful this would be, which is just as well. I should have known yesterday at the surgery though, when the staff all gave me that kind, sympathy smile when I arrived. And then, when my name was called, the receptionist clapped and said, “Go, Team Barbara!” I knew then I was in for a treat. And boy was I right.

I showed the Dentist the famous cartoon…

And he told me a joke too.

“So this guy goes to the dentist to have a dental implant. The surgeon is about to start work, and says, “Right John. Try to relax. This will be over before you know it. It should all go well, be over within an hour, and God willing, things will get back to normal very soon.”

“But Doctor. My name’s not John”

“No, I know. Mine is”

Hahaha!! Made me laugh. Which is just as well, cos she ain’t laughin now!

Tomorrow is another day. This too shall pass. John was right.

Love always

  1. Oh Barb, I feel for you so much right now. Hope the pain eases. We are struggling to find an NHS Dentist in our area. Take care and recover soon x. Bx

  2. Hope things will be soon back to normal for you. Love this weeks design salute! The samples are divine!

  3. Take it easy, Barb! My dad was a dentist and always admitted that there is no pain like dental pain. If you can, keep topped up with multiple forms of pain meds, alternating Paramol (paracetamol plus codeine) with ibuprofen every 2 to 3 hours.

    Gentle hugs xoxo

  4. After a visit to the dentist for a crown towards the end of last year I could not open my mouth properly for 2.5 months. They told me it was TMD Temporo Mandibular Dysfunction. It was a very depressing time as it was Christmas and I was soon to go on a Cruise. The upshot was I ended up in the Maxilofacial dept of the hospital who sorted me with exercises. I’m due to go to the Dentist next week for a check up and I must say I’m not looking forward to it.

  5. Hope you feel better soon, plenty of pain relief and rest. No consolation to you but I will be joining you on the pain train on Thursday, for a former dental nurse I am a real wuss when it’s my turn.

  6. Sorry to hear about your dental pain, Barb. I was at the dentist today as well but just to check the previous treatment had worked OK. No dental pain this time, but much pain to the bank balance – although not much there after the Sale orders I slipped in! 🤣
These designs are lovely, already in my stash and in need of a play. They reminded me of the lovely grasses and wildflowers I’m lucky to have in my garden at the moment, it’s probably time to get the scythe out and harvest that meadow! 🤣

  7. Hope you feel better soon. I have to go next week for a root canal and am trying not to think about it as I have a very low pain threshold and also have a great of dentists. I can see myself doing a lot of crafting to try not to dwell on the pain after. Xx

  8. Lots of pain relief, rest and fluids Barbara. I really feel for you – dental pain is so hard to distract yourself from. Hope you’re feeling better soon x

  9. Oh Barb, I feel for you. I disliked going to the dentist due to a bad experience in my youth. But as I got older and braver I went every 6 months until COVID. No NHS dentist available since. Had to treat my gum problem myself. Salt water rinses worked a treat.
    Hope you feel better soon.

  10. Lovely samples for the brilliant design of the week.

I can’t open my mouth very far after a trauma to my jaw a few years ago. I hate going to the dentist as the problem always gets worse after. I have had a full blown panic attack during an appointment before and always been a nervous patient. I can remember running away as a child. Who on this earth likes dental treatment although I love a hygiene appointment.

Hope your pain subsides real soon Barbara. ♥️

  11. Feel for you with your dental pain – thankfully ( touching wood very quickly) my dentist sorted my teeth out over a few years but unfortunately he has now retired so fingers crossed I continue to be ok. As others have said keep up the painkillers for a few days & salt water mouthwashes although not pleasant certainly help to keep everything clean & are quite soothing.
Meanwhile crafting or pottery will be a great block to the pain. Take it easy over the next couple of days as we are looking forward to seeing what you have planned up your sleeve for Thursday & Friday xx

  12. Hi Barbara
Hope you feel better soon nothing quite like tooth pain and now the cost just doubles the pain 🤣🤣
    Love Ruth and Jackie xx

  13. Hope you managed to get some rest Barbara, and feel much better today.
Send love & big hugs 💕🥰💕xxxxx

  14. Hope your face is feeling a bit better today – dental treatment is never a fun experience!
Love these stamps and they’re overdue for an outing on to my craft desk – need to get busy with them!
    Take care xx

  15. Hope you feel better soon. I recently went to the dentist for the first time in over 20 years. I was expecting to need a lot of work doing but she said ” I don’t know what you have been doing for the last 20 years, but keep on doing it as you don’t need any treatment”. Mind you I needed an anaesthetic when it came to paying the bill!! 😂😂
