Shining a light on the Scenescape Masks ..

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. Take 2. Let’s look again at the landscape we built out of one of the Scenescape Masks recently.

This was yesterday’s blog, using the new Dandelion stamps…

This time let’s use darling Ani’s flyaway boy – my absolute favourite stamp ever…

Slightly different mask layout, different central image, different new Companion Paper, but also from the Waimea Falls Companion Paper book, and a wonderful script from the new Reflection stamps…

Here is another step by step, once again using an Embedder. I get so many messages as to how to use these. It really is a piece of cake.

Secure the right size embedder for the imprint effect on the front of the artwork, using a piece of low-tack masking tape wrapped over.

Flip the artwork over and place on a sheet of copy paper. Using your thumb, rub hard along the edge of the embedder on all four sides, until you see where it is located. The go back over the same faint imprint with your No. 2 ball tool from the Groovi Start Kit. You can buy this tool separately, too.

When you have gone round all 4 sides, remove the embedder to reveal a wonderfully classy embedded effect, just like a printing press emboss.

Now it’s time to layer up. Pick one of our new plain colour companion papers. They really are excellent. So many classy colours.

Pick the one which speaks to you, trim it back to size, and mount, using our Tape runner.

Mount on a 7×7 inch white cardblank, then add the finishing touch, the sentiment…

So simple, so elegant, so atmospheric, so effective. All in all, a very achievable artcard.

Time to stop. It has been a long day, although this arty intermezzo has done me the power of good.

Love and hugs

  1. Lovely card, I always fine something else that I would like whenever I look at the Claritystamp website. Its no wonder my wish list keeps growing! Enjoy your evening. xx

  2. Fantastic, inspired me for a Sunday relaxing and making classy art.no quite Barbara Gray Standard but I’m getting there.

Looks fabulous with Ani’s fly away boy.

Superb background companion paper. A must have in my book.

Many thanks for the step by step Barb, hope you get some time to relax.xx

  3. Made up a half dozen simple and quick card toppers this morning and was not too happy with them but afer using the embedders and layering up they looked great. Surprising what a difference these little bits of plastic can make. Classy.
    Stay safe 🍒

  4. The embedders certainly give a great finish to a piece of artwork – so easy to use as well. Hopefully with the step by step pictures other people will realise what a simple process it really is. I use a tumble dryer sheet to rub round the edge so the ball tool glides round easier like they do on parchment.

  5. Embedders like the masks and now Companion papers are really essential pieces of kit that can make such a difference to your artwork. Once again Clarity brings us innovation that inspires the imagination to allow us crafters to be so creative! Thank you Barbara and Team Clarity. 😊👍🏻
Wonder what awesome goodies will be released over the Birthday weekend?

  6. Hello Barb, thanks so much for this step by step, I have been considering the embedders, and now think they are a must have. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  7. Hi Barbara
Thank you the step by step. The embedder step by step is brilliant, I’d missed them and had heard about them but not seen them used. Time for a website trip I think! Love Diane x

  8. I love the results of both of these demos! I bought the embedders as soon as they became available and then the larger pack too! When I watched you demonstrate how to extend the size of any embedder it was a true lightbulb moment. I have the masks and flyaway boy. Bijou Landscape stamps are on my list – there’s more to them than meets the eye. Genius. Will definitely need one or two of the companion pads…. I could go on.
Btw the ‘click here’ for ingredients link doesn’t seem to work. Maybe just as well in my case 😏
