What’s New Pussy Cat?
Hi there
Thanks for popping in. Apologies for slipping off the radar for a few days. So much going on! Do you know, I had switched the light off last night, and was lying in the dark, trying to get to sleep, and suddenly I blurted “I haven’t done a blog today!”. “Will they sack you?” came the response from the other side of the bed. Nobody likes a smartarse, do they…
Anyway, I’m back in the saddle. And what better lovely way to put a smile on your face than with a little update of Ragnar and Erik, those two little Viking orphans of ours…
They are the absolute BEST little friends. And now they’re a little older, they are so cheeky!
Caption time: “What? It’s totally my colour! And we both want to come with you. In fact, if you don’t take us, we’ll hide in Dave’s back pack. it‘s bigger anyway..”.
They are affectionate, fearless, fun and – at times – ferocious! The fur do fly when they play fight! In fact, you sometimes wonder whether these identical twin brothers are fighting for the kingdom. maybe they are…there can only be ONE King…
Same throne in the kitchen, mind!
And what’s with boxes, bags and bowls?! The latest place of preference is my best pottery! LOOK!! So not only are all my pleas to “get off the table” being ignored, now my best fruit bowl is a nap spot! How is THAT comfortable?!
Thing is though, they warm my soul, they cheer me up, they calm me down, they make me laugh and they keep me company. The only – THE ONLY – way I can tell them apart is that Ragnar is a little whiter underneath the chin. So at a glance, I’d say Ragnar has taken up residence in the bowl. But you can never be sure for sure!
I’ll leave you with a little music worm, to cheer you and singalong to…
Until tomorrow. And here’s the other thing: they are reliable, predictable, creatures of habit. When I leave the upstairs art studio above the garage in a minute, they will chase ahead of me to the kitchen door, but run up the ginkgo tree first! They will scoot right up the tree and show off for me, before following me into the house. Check out the eyes at the back!! Spooky or what?
Have a great evening.
Love and hugs –
Barb, Ragnar and Erik.

Barbara they are so gorgeous. I went to bed last night and watched you on iPad catching up on Monday Shac. I thought you would lull me off to sleep but instead I lay there thinking until gone midnight. I didn’t wake until 6.30am so that wasn’t too bad. Try and relax a bit like your gorgeous kitties otherwise you’ll burn yourself out. Travel gently xxxx
THANK YOU SO MUCH BARBARA X
So wonderful to see the Vikings again, totally cheers me up. I am a card marker, often I feel really ill
when I have to stop, because I put myself all into it, I love craft….BUT…I am SO happy to get a dose of
kitties, real medicines to me.
Thank you. They are wonderful.
So very cute. And I am a dog person at heart
That brought a smile to my face tonight. That bowl was definitely made for one of your furry friends, whatever you might think! It is a purrfect fit! I can see whose in charge in your house! Lol. Have a nice relaxing evening. Hxx
Lovely to see pictures of the cats and how they have grown. I always think it was so kind of you not to split them up so that they could be company for each other. Have a lovely evening xx
Oh, they are too gorgeous 🙂 Thanks for the update.
My brother has a kitten who’s just as mischievous, but without the sibling for company. She’s currently suffering a ‘cone’ following a minor-op, and is apparently feeling rather sorry for herself.
Take care of yourself Barb, Cx
Thanks for the photos of your little vikings. I miss my ginger boy so it is nice to see yours living life to the full.
Love
Linda xx
Gorgeous boys! It so funny how they find such strange places so inviting. Our baby was never happier than when she was given an IKEA brown bag! After watching you on Monday I looked back for the ‘Keats’ artwork with the tree stamp which you referred to & I knew I had done. Can you believe it was a Clarity Challenge in 2016 😱😱😱😱 How time flies. Sleep well and enjoy those vikings xxx
I am not an animal person normally but these little scamps have stolen my heart. It has been lovely to see their progress, an great to have this update. They still have that “kitten” appeal.
Don’t worry about missing a blog, while we miss you we understand how busy things can be for you.
Looking forward to seeing the mixed media on Friday.
Stay safe 🍒
They are beautiful and funny. X
How lovely to have a cat-catch-up! They are so full of character and are obviously telling you to make them matching cat-bed bowls! A whole new industry could arise from their love of your bowls…….
Isn’t it strange how things suddenly come to you when you are trying to get to sleep. Even worse when you have been asleep & suddenly wake up thinking about something.
Wow they have grown. Love hearing about their antics & I can see that they bring a lot of enjoyment to you both. They obviously approve of your new bowl x
Lovely update on Ragnar & Erik. Beautiful boys!
Oh my, your cats are so adorable, I am a cat lover and seeing your pictures always makes me smile.
X
Some days things just fall off the end of your list, and Dave is right, noone will sack you! And the cats will still love you as long as you feed them!!! X
Hi Barbara
Love love the cats they will always find the best place to sleep. Stiggi one of ours slept every night on the ottoman but we have had a change round and he is finding it unsettling as the ottoman has gone. His brother Solo always nabs the poang in the hall and all hell breaks lose if Stiggi tries to get there first. It’s lovely to see your two getting along. Don’t beat yourself up about the blog it’s great to connect in your world but more important for you to rest.
Love Ruth & Jackie xx also Stiggi and Solo xx
Ragnar and Erick are beautiful cats, I would love a cat but I think my dog Ruby would be very annoyed 🤣😂
Hugs xxx
Love your photos of the boys. But I wanted to thank you for your idea in the shac, of writing a thought, that I watched tonight on YouTube. I had recently found this on Pinterest & doodled it in the same fashion as you. Such a relaxing idea. Thank you.
Don’t
always believe
everything
you think.
Take care, hugs, Sue. x
Barbara, they are just adorable 😍 they always warm my heart when you share photos and updates. The innocents of animals is wonderful. I have an 8yr jack russell who is my soul mate and supports my hearing loss. He is so quiet, patience of a Saint and just loves everyone he meets including other furies. We found a rubber ball on our walk. He walked throughout with it in his mouth. When it was time gor bed I said we’d leave the ball downstairs. I returned to the bedroom from the bathroom only to find he’d sneakily gone downstairs to retrieve his new ball and was sitting proudly with it on the bed 😀 I could only smile at those lovely brown eyes….
My soul mate ❤

Lovely pictures of your beautiful vikings, made me smile. They remind me of a late friends cat Fred, who was a handsome ginger chap, who one learned only to stroke once , not twice, but if his owners were on holiday, then he would permit a tummy tickle. Take care. xx
They are so cute, going to show hubby tomorrow as he loves gingers ! He had a ginger tom when he as a boy. We’ve always had black ones as they’re usually the last to go in rescues. I think you need to make another bowl so there’s no arguing or, failing that, take a couple of your large clarity boxes home – they’ll make beds in those – ours did!
Thanks for a cute blog, you don’t have to do one every day but we appreciate it when you do x x
Hello Barb, thank you for this lovely blog post, we are cat lovers and this little look at the boys has really brought a smile to my face this morning. We originally had 2 pure white brothers, who are sadly gone now, then we had a little female tabby who just wondered into the garage one day and never left, even though we put up posters and asked around various vets, she was not chipped and still pretty much a kitten, she’s about 18 now, and definitely Hubby’s cat. Currently we are fostering a big ginger cat for a friend of ours who had to move and could not take him with for various reasons. He is definitely not a lap cat or very friendly most of the time unless you are feeding him, well me that is, but if hubby sits in the lounge he will go sit with him and allow hubby to fuss him, and his preferred sleeping spot is on an old bedsheet on top of my sewing desk wedged between my sewing machine bag and my sewing box, as you say how can that be comfortable. Oh for the love of animals right. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
That’s what trees are for isn’t it? I’m wondering if we will see a massive new ‘cat bowl’ appearing from your studio so they can both kip in it!!
Love as ever
Maggie (Bendy Yorkite)
You should market those bowls as cat nap beds! Purrrr-fect!
Love and hugs xxxx
Your handsome little Vikings always make me smile when you share their photographs. I can totally understand how a furry friend can complete your life. xx
I remember when after one of my German Shepherds passed, we downsized to a cocker spaniel as a friend for Tasha another shepherd. That cocker Rosie was as big in character as her shepherd sister and can remember with a huge smile when she took over the big bed leaving poor old Tasha to try to get her big frame into a cocker spaniel sized bed, bless her, she put up with a lot very gracefully.
every blog post is a bonus. beautiful photos.
Oh what lovely pussycats. They must be such a joy to have around. Have a great evening. Take care. Hugs xxxx
Those cats are so lovely ,don’t think I will be able to have a cat again as Bella my sons dog we look after when he works,he is a nurse ,when we had our other dog Millie hubby used to say cat to them so they would try to get it drove me mad that did ,Susie our latest dog is 2 now and he says it to her ,my granddaughters got a kitten and she told me to bring Susie round Susie just wants to play but the kitten put his back up and just hissed at her x
I also didn’t get to sleep till gone 2.30,just kept watching clock ,my Fitbit says I had 6 h 22min sleep x
Hi Barb,
Those two Vikings are so gorgeous. We had a cat years ago who claimed a Spanish fruit bowl with a rope handle as her daytime sleeping place once she’d grown too big for a plant pot! As you say, how can they be comfortable! Scamp used to sleep in the bathroom sink until we changed it & then she decided she didn’t like the shape of the new one. They are so funny but give so much pleasure. I do miss Scamp, the house just seems so empty even though most of the time she was asleep upstairs I knew she was there. Don’t beat yourself up about missing a blog, you are a busy lady and Dave is quite right . Love and hugs, Alison xx
