Daisy Daisy, give me your answer do!

Hi there

Thanks for popping in.

Been clearing up from Friday’s Facebook LIVE Moment of Clarity, when we put those cool Lino-cut stamps through their paces. Did you join us?

We’ve decided to have another stampy Craftalong session with them on Wednesday, June 2nd at 7pm. So that will give you plenty of time to order them if you haven’t already got them. I’ll let you know ahead of time what else you’ll need to join in, which ink pads etc. But you can always improvise, can’t you! I’m thinking Distress Oxides, but alcohol inks would be great too. Let me have a think…

They are very cool, even if I say so myself. Dave brought up a piece of sanded wood from the garage, and I stamped the daisy in black archival on the wood block…perfect.

Love that authentic grain. So arty! I wiped the edges with a cloth before it was completely dry, to age it, and push some ink into the grains…

If you join me in the SHAC SHAC tomorrow at 10, see if you can spot this little wood block behind me on the shelves!

Something else I wanted to mention. Remember the WIGIG Sale we had a couple of weeks ago? The When it’s Gone It’s Gone Sale? Well, you certainly seemed to like that idea! And we are very happy, because it helped us clear a few shelves too! So we decided to have another WIGIG WEEK! The stock levels aren’t quite as high on the hundreds of plates and stamps we have loaded into the HALF PRICE sale offer this time, but nevertheless, we can do this thing! Starts tomorrow and runs for a week. Unlike our usual sales, when we just keep making, when it’s gone it‘s definitely gone though.

And, as if you needed encouraging to have a rummage when there’s a bargain, we are also giving away a pack of my very Favourite Toscana Papers FREE when you spend over £30.

Cor. I’ve just had a thought….

  • Stamp Daisy Lino cut somewhere cool on the paper that looks like there is a little pond with reeds.
  • Archival Black is best.
  • Trim back, so the other half of the paper can be used for another project.

Edge with a Black Sharpie pen

  • Use our glue runner to attach to a white cardblank that fits. I went with 7×7 inch.
  • Stamp a sentiment into place, or use a sticker. This, believe it or not, is a stamp! I LOVE THESE LETTER PRESS STAMPS!!!! Look out for a rather super collection on the horizon…

And I still have the paper half with the pond or lake to play with! Cool.

Anyway, as I was saying, the pack of 10 papers is free if you spend over £30. And you don’t have to spend it in the sale only. You can spend it on anything you fancy this week.

As soon as the total exceeds £30, we will automatically add the pack of papers. And should you order more than once, well then I’m sure we will add another pack of papers! It’s not like you won’t use it !! Mind you, if we run out of these Toscana papers, then we may have to send you a different pack of favourites papers. I’m sure we’ve got plenty in the cupboard though!

Here’s to safe crafting and happy shopping!

Stay safe –

Love and hugs,

Barb xx

  1. Is there no end to this girl’s talents? The stamp on the wood is really effective. I could do with having a tidy up but going to light the fire instead. It’s pouring, 9 degrees and I got quite literally soaked to the skin when I nipped out for milk! I’m frozen. Enjoy what is left of the weekend. Hxx

  2. I have spent a happy morning mounting up my stamping from Fridays session. I wasn’t pleased initially but now they are cut back and mounted onto card much more pleased with the result. Looking forward to the next craftalong so much fun

  3. Love the stamp on the wood would not have thought about that may have to try xx may also have to take a peek at the sale xx

  4. Oh wow Barbara you do create some beautiful things. I love it all. Another sale. I am sure I can fit some bits and bobs into my basket. Enjoy the rest of the day. Take care. Hugs xxx

  5. That stamping on wood is very effective. Nice idea.
Once again you are spoiling us – not sure I need more sale items just a few more folders to put things in !!!!! The last 2 deliveries are sitting in a box waiting for the tracing out to be done before filing. I will get round to it eventually.
Ever had one of those days when your fingers justwill not do what you want them to? Well thats me today. Thank goodness for spell checker. Given up trying to do anything delicate. Must find a good book to read.
    Take care all, stay safe.

  6. Magic Barbara, your Lino Cut stamps just keep giving! Stamping on the wood block really brings out the beauty of the image! The Moment of Clarity with them put a much needed smile on my face as I’m suffering with a bad back! Really looking forward to the 2nd June extra session, a pre-birthday treat for me!
And another sale! You’re spoiling us! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  7. Love the effect of the stamp on the wood block. Couldn’t join you on Friday but aiming to catch up with the video during the week. And now I’m going to be in serious trouble with my bank manager thanks to another Clarity sale…!!

  8. Bea and I caught up this morning and had a good play with the lino-cut stamps. Although we’ve been stamping since 1993 (and first Clarity stamp -a corner -in1994) it was so interesting. One question -is it better to use a permanent ink for one of the pair if stamping together or is it OK to use 2 water-based inks? I know I can try it out but wondered if matters? Really looking forward to the next session, though we’ll do it during the day -neither of us can craft at night now. Love the tool-holder Dave made you.

  9. Hi Barb,
Very clever idea to do the stamping on wood – really effective. Wasn’t too sure about the Lino cut stamps when I first saw them, but the more I see them, the more I want them! Had my sister and brother in law for lunch today. That was lovely – the first time we’ve had a meal together since Christmas. Finished off a lovely birthday weekend now that I’m officially eligible for my pension and old person’s bus pass ( what a horrible name!) . Xxxx

  10. Love the stamp on the papers. I spent today making parchment butterflies to ad to a toxedo box card for my daughter’s birthday card. Hardest part was choosing which parchment papers to use as all so beautiful x o

  11. Hello Barb, you certainly are very creative when it comes to using various surfaces. Did Dave bring you the wood specifically for that purpose, or did he say (as my hubby often does), can you use this for anything? Love the Lino cut stamp on the Toscana paper, very lovely. Will have a little look at the WIGIG sale. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
