A Day out.

A Day out.

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. After the SHAC Shac this morning, I am heading over to my parents, to deliver their food and supplies. And to spend an afternoon in the company of my oldest and dearest friends.

As the lockdown continues, I find more and more that my priorities are shifting, that I am grateful for so much that I previously took for granted.

And going over to Gillingham to see Mum and Dad is a highlight. I spoke to a good friend this morning, who lost her Dad a little while ago. He went to join his wife, who had departed a couple of years earlier. Listening to my friend describe his end, I am reminded again of how VERY, VERY lucky we are, to still be here, and still be fit and able. Mum’s hip replacements have done the trick, and Dad quietly gets on with Life. One day at a time.

Long may it continue.

So I am blogging early, about nothing in particular, because I’m having a day out. Well, half a day.

It’s TV weekend, so there’ll be lots to keep us entertained on Sunday and Monday!

And don’t forget: the half price Clarity Craft Club Members’ Sale is still going until Midnight Monday. So you can still join a club and take advantage of the massive blanket sale, across all Clarity Products (except the newest ones). Stay safe.

Love always

  1. Have a lovely day with mum and dad. Family are the best. I’ve missed the shac bus this week. Had my vaccine on Monday and reacted horribly to it. I’m still in bed ☹️. Hope to catch up next week. Stay safe and have a good weekend xx

      1. Just read your comment Alison, hope that you are feeling much better soon. Fingers crossed for seeing you Monday xxx

  2. Thank you so much for our trip to Egypt. Hope you have a lovely afternoon with your parents. I miss mine so very much and my darling husband.
Have a good weekend with Dave. See you on tv on Sunday xxx

  3. Hi Barbara it is so lovely that you will be visiting your mum and dad and spending time with them. My husband’s parents are too far away for us to visit. My parents both have dementia and don’t know who we are. It is what it is. We just have to keep going. Take care. Hugs xxx

  4. There are so many sad stories and I tell myself that we must be grateful for what we have, even though on down days it is difficult.
Have a lovely visit with your parents and a good weekend, both on and off the telly. Hugs. Annette X

  5. Have a lovely afternoon with your parents & some down time from work before your busy weekend.
Have finished inking my pyramids & Nefertiti ready for Monday so now I am playing with my background stamps with the girls & Douglas stamps.

  6. Enjoy time with your Mum and Dad and so pleased they are both doing well, especially that your Mum’s new hips are making life much better for her, and now they have had both their jabs too, they must be feeling happier that they can have proper contact with you. x

  7. Hope you had a lovely day with your parents.
I’m spending a lot of with my mum making lovely memories as well as baking, well she bakes and we all share it around.
    Hugs julie xxx

  8. Hope you had a lovely time with Mum and Dad, precious. I wonder what my parents would have thought about this pandemic. My Dad was a Yorkshireman and would have told us to get on with it and it will be alright in the end. Looking forward to the tv shows and hope all goes well for your demos x

  9. Hi Barb,
Hope you had a lovely time with your Mum and Dad. It’s great that they’ve had their jabs – it must be a relief for you & them. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until you get yours too. I’m pleased to hear that your Mum’s new hips have made life easier for her as well. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow although I have a feeling it might be expensive! Love and hugs Alison xx

  10. Hello Barb, I hope you had a lovely day with Mum and Dad. There is joy in meeting up with family in every circumstance. Looking forward to the shows. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  11. Hope you enjoyed your time with your Mum and Dad yesterday. We only have my father-in-law left. He will be 95 on 13th March.
He is in a care home just a couple of miles away but we haven’t been able to visit properly for quite some time. My husband telephones but as his Dad is quite deaf and doesn’t want to wear his hearing aids these calls are short and sweet. We have waved at him through the window – but it’s not quite the same.
I truly understand why you would cherish every moment you have with your Mum and Dad.
    Take care
