KISS = Keep It Super Simple

KISS = Keep It Super Simple

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. Have to remind myself that sometimes simple is super. Sometimes the simplest things are not only easiest, but classiest. And sometimes, when we keep it super simple, we focus just on the artwork, on the design.

Here, for example. These fabulous whimsy Hare designs by Mel are complex in and of themselves. Little masterpieces just as they are, each and every one…

Available individually and as a set of 4.

You can’t really add to them, they are just perfect as they are. So the best thing to do is keep them uncluttered. These papercut designs just blow me away every time I take the time to look more closely at them.

I decided to use kraft card to make these little pictures sing. It works.

Let’s mount these on white cardblanks. Our Perga Glue works well. Dib dib dib.

Looks like superfine mdf! 3 more to go – and what a classy, lovely little set of notelets. Like I said, no skill required. Just Mel’s artwork. Which is priceless.

On the subject of price, let’s have a little bloggy sale on these dies. CLICK HERE TO INVESTIGATE.

Remember the blog candy at the weekend? Which card did I mount the card on?

Yep. Kraftcard! Did you guess right? I just thought it toned in beautifully with the colours. The black made the art pop, but was too dark for me. The white was lovely and light and crisp, and nearly got my vote. But the kraftcard was warmer. Lots of you agreed with me, and lots of you read my mind, which can’t be easy (ask Dave!)

So I closed my eyes and picked a lucky winner for the £20 gift voucher and the card, which will be winging its way to

KATHY H.

Well done ! Email us your mailing address kathy xxx Thanks everybody who joined in !

Rightio. Time to stop for the day.

  1. Love these scenes and the simplicity !

Well done Kathy ! At least I managed the right answer! Feeling lighter today now I’ve had my hair cut. About to listen to the football now – come on Oxford Utd. X

  2. Congratulations Kathy.
I’m coming to like the Kraft card more and more as it lends warmth to many of our projects. Have been making a list of “likes” from the members sale, just have to check the shelves so I don’t double up, then I can add more card as well.
Started on the Owls, you are right, the eyes have it. It is always best to start there because if the eyes are right (on any project) then no one will notice any other imperfections, but do some cracking artwork and get the eyes wrong, it will be immediately obvious.
Looking forward to the rest of the week colouring with you.
    Stay safe 🍒🍒🍒

  3. Well done Kathy! Enjoy treating yourself.
I am going to watch the SHAC now, as I couldn’t make it this morning. Not colouring, but enjoying watching and listening, as I always do. My mojo decided to have a week off with you, so I got stuck into some back catalogue Groovi designs, to soothe my soul and keep me occupied. Have a good evening. Hugs. Annette X

  4. Must admit I love the craft card die cuts with the dark blue background, looks quite magical x

  5. Congratulations, Kathy. Happy shopping. I have those dies so really must use them! I have the groovi plates as well! No surprise there, then! It obviously takes a woman to read a woman’s mind. Dave has no chance. Hope he’s not hobbling about as much as he was. Take care. Hxx

  6. Congratulations, Kathy! Have fun.

Knowing when to simplify is a great skill. I love kraft on blues, so I’m glad someone above agrees. I like the hare dies. They remind me of days with a craft knife creating the old-fashioned paper cuts. So wonderful to have dies now!

  7. Congrats Kathy, enjoy spending it!
Simple = beautiful, love the kraft on white.
    Stay safe, Jackie x

  9. Well done Kathy.

I love the way intricate dies like this look like fretwork when they’re cut in Kraft card, and mounted with just a little elevation off the page. Beautiful.
