Perfect Ivory Parchment

Perfect Ivory Parchment

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Up with the dawn chorus this morning. What a glorious time of day! It may be chaos in the world, but in our little garden it’s peaceful and it’s calm. The early birdsong is a wonderful thing; it wakes up and it wakes me up as the sun rises – and no amount of rioting, no pandemic however devastating, even slows it down. Like the ebb and flow of the oceans, like the sun and the moon, like the leaves on the trees and the clouds in the sky – these are our constants. These are the things I focus on. And apart from the ocean, they’re in the garden! I only have to open my eyes to be there.

So why was I up with the lark?

We have several Parchment TV shows lined up this week: Thursday Pergamano Shows 11am and 3pm. Then Sunday One Day Special 6pm launch. Naturally, with so much going on, I want to get ahead of the curve on the Demo recordings which we send up to HOCHANDA. Linda Williams and Lynne Jackson have very kindly helped me out with the artwork, so all I have to do is present it and explain it. Still takes some figuring out though! But I have a plan – and one day at a time, with no hiccups, I shall stick to it.

5am. Hiccup No. 1. I started gathering all the ingredients to recreate Linda’s artwork using her new and lovely latest addition to The Groovi Garden Collection, the Wicker Chairs. All done on beautiful soft tones of Ivory parchment. Barbie reached for her Soft Tones Parchment Folder. No Ivory. No light Ivory either. Clearly a favourite! Stumbled at the very first hurdle. Never mind. Keep calm and carry on.

Hahaha Speaking of parchment, there’s a brilliant PARCHMENT sale on our Pergamano Website starting today. 40% off! That’s worth a looksie, don’t you think? That includes ALL PARCHMENT – the Designer parchment pads too…

Anyway, back to the story. Watch on Thursday, and see if you can see how I skirt around the absence of ivory parchment. You won’t even notice, I bet.

Linda’s latest addition to her lovely Groovi Garden plates is another beaut. I have a wicker chair just like these.

Yes. Have a lovely day. This day, June 1st 2020 will never come your way again. So don’t waste it worrying about stuff you can’t do anything about.

I’m waiting for Dave to come home, so that we can go for a long walk. That’s what I fancy. A long walk through the woods. Stretch the legs and talk to the trees. They are older than me, they listen, and they are always there for me! Just like my Mum and Dad.

Love and hugs,

Barb xxxx

  1. It certainly is the best time of the day. Yesterday we decided to walk before it got too hot and were up on the downs before 7am! The birdsong was constant including skylarks. We are so lucky to live in a wonderful part of the country and the upside of the pandemic is that we are discovering parts of it we haven’t walked before.
See you with the ducks tomorrow. Xx

  2. Hope the ivory parchment was the only hiccup you had today. Really looking forward to this week’s shows.

At 04.45 this morning I was wakened by shouting, scared me, but it was just Ray having a nightmare. As I tried wo wake him he started talking nonsense but it was actually a response to something in his dream. When he was fully awake he couldn’t remember a thing!!!
The sun was up and the birds just starting to sing so no more sleep for me. On the plus side I got some jobs done before it got too hot. Sweltering now although this area was supposed to be the cooler part of the country. Can’t wait for some rain to cool things down.
Stay safe everyone, we have to stay in lockdown for the forseeable future and that means more hobbies and crafts. Yippee. 🍒🍒🍒

  3. I don’t think I’ve seen ivory parchment – will have to check that out ! Thanks for the colouring this morning, it was funny to hear you saying about your swearing, I never used to properly swear but in the last couple of years it’s got worse, it did with the B x t word I think and just carried on ! Trouble is hubby laughs as he’s not got used to me using such language even thought I learnt it from him swearing at the tv !
Enjoy your walk and see you in the morning. Better do a bit more on my di ..ducks ! X

  4. Evening Barbara! I’ve been getting groovi this afternoon with the next lot of secret stuff that arrived today! That was until I had to stop with my side in agony! It feels a bit like when I broke a rib years ago yet I’ve not gone anywhere or done anything. So I’ll take things easy tonight and see how it is tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing the artwork Linda and Lynne have done with the wicker chairs!
    Have a lovely evening.
    Love and hugs Xxxx

  5. Lovely plate. Hope you enjoy your walk and that you don’t have too many hiccups this week. Hx

  6. Hi Barb, I love the dawn chorus too. I love to lie in bed in the early morning listening to the birds wake up. I think the blackbird song is the most beautiful, and nice feeling inducing of all. Yep, that tends to be my focus, for many years, when things get tougher, nature – flora and fauna, still carry on oblivious to everything going on with us human beings. And through this pandemic lockdown have thrived and ventured into areas that because of humans were out of bounds to them. And the ticking over of the planet, day turning to night and night turning to day, the longest day to the shortest day. Unless we destroy this beautiful planet and it’s inhabitants, it will still be there doing this same thing when we are long gone. All the constants in life to try to find comfort in, no matter what is going on. And oh boy is comfort in much need…

my personal positives today are that my volunteer brought his dad’s petrol mower to cut my grass. It hadn’t been cut since last year, it was up to his thighs! What a difference, the gardens look a lot bigger. And the bonus is the local cats can’t hide in the long grass to pounce on the birds anymore… The other positive being my cfs is still a bit better than it was so it looks like, providing I am sensible, I am on the mend. Well, until the next Covid panic and headless chicken act… And of course the positive every day, I woke up this morning to see another day… Hopefully tomorrow will be a crafty afternoon, that’s my aim for tomorrow’s positive.

I’ll be watching your shows. Intrigued by your new stamp set teaser for Sunday. I hope you enjoy your long walk in the woods, and it helps in your head. Love you xxx
And to finish on a positive, I’m off to do my Clarity order!!!

  7. I’m just back from a three mile walk, so hope you’ve enjoyed yours and that the demos go well… something else we have in common this week.

    Hugs xoxo

  8. Hi Barb,
Hope you’ve had a lovely walk through the woods with Dave. Just been looking at my email about what’s coming up on tv and I have to say that I’m liking what I see! The new garden plate with the wicker chairs looks lovely, the alphabet stamp looks intriguing and the new fold plates look gorgeous. One thing I do know – I’m never going to be rich while Clarity keeps bringing out new things!!!! Love and hugs Alison xxxx

  9. Looking forward to next batch of Clarity shows scheduled for the weekend. Hope you enjoyed your walk through the woods – sounds lovely. We haven’t ventured out yet, just walking up & down the garden which isn’t far but enough to walk 250 steps every hour I do it 3 to 4 times when I get the 10 minute warning on my fit bit !! Must go & look at my ducks as I have just realised I haven’t done anymore to them since this morning. See you at 10 am

  10. Hello Barb, beautiful plates, they will no doubt cause a crafty riot which is a lot more pleasant. Hope you enjoyed the walk. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
