Thanks for popping. How are you? Feeling crafty? Me too. It’s the only way forward for this washing machine head today!
Have been wanting to play with Leonie’s Fresh Cut Dies for a while. You know, the scribble dies she designed.
£20 each. Or £25 for both. Mmmm……Now that’s pretty bloggy special!!
They are so fabulous! Only It’s just been so manic here at Clarity, that they’ve been sitting next to my desk for – wait for it – not weeks, months.
But today was the day they finally came out for a play! I decided to combine them with our Clarity Blank Mask Material, which just happens to be our PICK OF THE WEEK!! (aka great price!), and see how said mask material handled a good cut and trim!
Result? Fantastic!! Check this out.

Cuts like butter 
Now let’s see how well the masks hold when they get put through their inky paces…you could use any inks. I just went with Distress Oxides because they blend nicely.
Well, the masks stayed put. Didn’t flinch. So now let’s see whether they actually did their job!
The best part is that the masks, even though they are very fine and delicate, they peel off beautifully, and can be used again and again. Look!
Let’s finish the artwork now. I feel a sticker sentiment coming on. Barb’s sticker words. Mind you, Leonie’s are blimming great too...click here
All done. Time for tea. The love of my life just got home….

What a good idea, have the dies and have used them a few times but works really well with the masks! May have to go on my wish list 😂😂

I had a long awaited meet up with a friend today. We met in the church garden, I took the sandwiches, she took the flask of tea and we sat at opposite ends of a bench and had a socially distanced lunch. I cannot tell you how lovely it was and the only thing missing was a big hug when we left.
I then came home and belatedly watched the SHAC. I am chuffed with my windmill and really enjoyed your story telling. All in all a relaxed day, which I really needed, so thank you again.

What a beautiful idea to use the die as a mask and the blending is gorgeous!
I love doing the mill, but mine will be a corn mill as the one of my granddad. In the village Diever nearby where I live, is also a mill and in this village they are every year playing a piece of Shakespeare for 75 year now.
Thank you so much for the Shac every weekday-it makes me feel less lonely.

Great idea to use the masks with the dies. I was looking at the dies the other day so really must have a play with them. I have just caught up with todays SHAC as we went over to our daughters this morning as she had a hospital appointment to have her plaster off. I went for a walk with one of my Granddaughters before cutting the lawn. She did make me smile though as she asked how I knew how to cut the grass as we haven’t got a lawn. I told her years of practice !!
Ready to do the tulips now so see you at 10am.
Great blog and wonderful de stress later in the shac. Braved the motorway again and husband has the all clear for his eyes. Much calmer now. I woke up as Barbara did this morning in a panic. Amazing what the shac does- gets the blood pressure down and also stimulates the endorphins with Barbara’s amusing stories.
Hi Barb, sorry you’ve got a washing machine head today. I hope your art helped. So simple, but so effective. Thank you for sharing. I love these quick card ideas. I have the square dies, and the mask sheets, the only thing stopping me is me, my body and in my head… My head sure is scrambled today too! I did eventually get through the chores needing done though, but that’s all! I’ll try again tomorrow… Wish I could have joined in your Shac Shack, been part of it, being part of something. Not nice being so alone, and getting nowhere with anything.
Here’s something that put a smile on my face just now. A report I have just seen about a Bingo Bus. Up here, a volunteer organisation who delivers food packages to those in need during the day decided to use the empty minibus in the evening to make some fun and cheer folk up in their local community. They pick a street to go to once a week, have a game of socially distanced bingo from the bus, with everyone sitting outside their houses. Followed by socially distanced karaoke and ending with a street socially distanced slosh dance. Only in Britain, eh…!!!

What a brilliant idea! Must try this with some other dies. I had fully intended having a crafty day but apart from the windmill this morning, what did I spend the day doing? And yesterday evening, and woke up early this morning and filled several pieces of paper? …looking for words in ‘all things grow with love’!!! Hoping they will stop pouring out of my head soon. 😂 Looking forward to the tulips tomorrow. Xx

Great idea Barbara. I have the heart dies and the blank mask material but where did I put it.
Waited for the plumber this morning, supposed to come at 10am (ugh) but actually came at 1345. Oh well I stayed at the SHAC and did some housework.
My windmill looks rather wonky but having drawn it a second time that is how it will stay.

Hi Barb,
I love these dies and also the stamps. I recently used the heart/ circle one for a Ruby Wedding card which came out well and the square one for a male friend’s birthday card. I cut the shapes I wanted out of card 3 times each, stuck two together and then attached to more card and used Pebeo Vitrail, Moon and Prisme paints to fill in the open spaces. When dry, I glued the final die cut over the top to hide any wayward paint. They were little works of art when finished, I was really chuffed. I have just put in an order for the mask blanks so I’ll be cutting some out when they arrive. Hope you’ve had a good evening. Love and hugs,Alison xx

What a great idea, I haven’t got those dies but having seen what you’ve done with them I really like them. I’ve just spent my birthday voucher so will have to put them on a wish list. Could I just say a huge thank you to Jeannine who was on the chat facility on the website yesterday and helped me with a query. It was so helpful having my question answered quickly. Thank you also for the club goodies which arrived today. I did chuckle at the stamp, i won’t say what it is, but you must have heard me moaning about a particular pattern in the doodle session ! I have been die cutting on masking sheets with some of the floral dies. Works a treat. Not sure about handling somethng as fine as the squiggles though.
Woke up this mornng too tired to concentrate so no crafting today. Think I’ll just curl up with a book and relax.

Those dies are fantastic for cutting up gel prints that didn’t work out as planned. I use them a lot lol!!! I also found a thin sheet of double sided sticky that works brilliantly with your fresh cut dies and it’s excellent for leonies doodles.
