Getting the tits out again in March!

Getting the tits out again in March!

Hi there!
Thanks for popping in. Sun’s out and all the birds are chirping away happily in the garden. The feeders are packed with all sorts of tits and the woodpeckers are back too.

The garden bird stamps (aka bluetits) illustrated by lovely Melanie are among my favourites. Now we have combined them with a set of Cherry Blossoms I drew myself , to create a beautiful new set of ultrafine stamps (at a superb price too)

GARDENBIRDS & CHERRY BLOSSOM

Tomorrow, 2pm-4pm I shall be getting those lovely stamps out again, to show off the new Toscana and Waimea Falls Designer Parchment, and Paul will be showing them off in Groovi Style.

GARDEN BIRDS GROOVI BABY PLATES

It was interesting to see that the last time we aired these plates on TV was in March 2017. Here’s a link to a step by step Groovi blog I did back then…

And guess what !

The time before that was March 2014! Here’s the link to a little Stamping Landscape step by step I did back then on Create & Craft. March 2014 https://www.barbaragrayblog.com/2014/03/tits-galore/

So yeah. It seems that I only get my tits out once every three years – in March! Oooh I say! If I didn’t have so many boxes to tick today, I’d get them out and have a play now too!

Here are a couple of Gelpress pieces I did years ago, using the big tit!

ANyway. Must get my Demo box packed for Scotland today, before we leave for HOCHANDA TVland. What to do… there are so many things I’d like to showcase! Mmmm…..may be getting the old blue tits out up there too….really looking forward to the Glasgow show now. Went into a bit of a frenzy yesterday, when I looked at what’s to be done here, but hey. It ain’t going anywhere, is it.

Once you accept that you are committed (no, not that you need committing!), then you can relax into the task ahead, focus on it and enjoy it, one day at a time. You may as well – as Dave so rightly points out – you don’t get paid any extra for being miserable!

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

Darling Jayne knitted this little fella for me years ago. Sits here on my desk and keeps me company. What a little beaut.

  1. Safe journey north. There was some snow in parts yesterday – Perth to Lochearnhead and the Tyndrum area – but that won’t affect you! Beautiful sunny day in Argyll today too. Blue skies! Hope we keep the nice weather for your trip north but you won’t see much of it anyway. Looking forward to Sunday’s shows. I have those stamps. May have a play today as I am off. Take care. Hx

  2. Hi Barb, what are we all like, just reading your blog title got me laughing again. It seems every years we need this kind of humour too…!!! Glad you have got your head sorted for now about all the plates you are trying to keep spinning. I’m working hard at trying to learn this in some way, not conducive to an autistic brain, prioritising, and boxing stuff as can wait no point worrying etc. Accepting things take extra time and progress is very slow, for me, is another huge one I battle against all the time. When I can manage it a bit I find I manage to be more focussed and achieve more which is good, but try telling my stupid brain this is the way to go…!!!

Beautiful day here, lull before the storm tomorrow… Still bitterly cold though.

Looking forward to your shows and your trip to Scotland. I hope my fellow Scots make it a huge success for you. And as for demos, I’m sure everyone will be delighted to see you demo anything you wish to show them.

Hope you have a safe journey to Hochanda. Looking forward to your shows. Love you xxx

  3. Wish I could get the pattern for that little blue tit. He looks good. I have been knitting some ducks, that then hold an Easter egg. I have the groovi plates, not used them for a while. At last a bit of sunshine in Manchester, but windy. Lots of these lovely birds in the garden, but haven’t seen the robin for ages.
Looking forward to the shows tomorrow. Hope the weather will be good for you. Xx Thank You for the club plate and your lovely letter, also received my order yesterday.

  4. Ok I have to say it…I love your tits too and have played with them many times!

The stamps are beautiful and have so much detail great set to have. Looking forward to seeing what you create with them. XX

  5. I love the big ‘un… although I’m only just realizing what it is… so there’s much tittering here right now! Drive safely, then get some well deserved rest before the craziness!
    Hugs xoxo

  6. Hope the weather stays fine for your journey north. I tipped down here this morning while we were out but since lunchtime the sun has been shining. The daffs, snowdrops and cherry blossoms are out and it is looking quite spring-like. No birds unfortunately so will have to make do with your tits. They are such pretty birds. Love the little knitted one, ❣ will have to see if I can find a pattern on the web.
Currebtly finding one thing at a time, one day at a time gets things done faster than trying to do everything at once although years of multitasking is a hard habit to shake. Hope you get it all your tasks sorted in good time for your foray to Glasgow.
    Safe journey to Peterborough.

  7. Oooo er missus!!!
Oh that blog title nearly made me choke on my coffee.
Is it really 3 years since they were out last time. Haha.
Actually it’s lovely to see some of the old favourites making another outing. I think we forget that these may be older to us but there will be some new crafters who won’t have seen these before or people who didn’t get them the first time round.
The new parchment is beautiful and perfect to use with these images.
Safe travelling around and hope the show in Scotland goes well.
    Love and hugs xxxx

  8. What is it with you and tits Barbara? I remember you saying at a craft show that you had to be very careful when using buff titanium paint on TV not to call it buff tit!! And now you are getting your blue tits out, well it is nearly March & that wind is bitter! xx 😉

  9. Hi Barbara,
Oh you do make us all laugh, i think we all need a bit of fun at the moment.
Looking forward to seeing all the shows tomorrow, i was just going to get some craft done this afternoon as hubby is watching football, but then had to sort out some insurances out !! boring .
I am now going to sit and watch Paul show’s from yesterday a little bit of piece and some calming time.
Have a good trip up north & a good day tomorrow , more things i have on my wish list.
    Look after yourself .
    Lynn .xxx

  10. Loved reading this post today
You are so full of enthusiasm for what you do, you totally inspire others to have a go.
Enjoy your trip to Scotland hope the weather holds for you and you have a safe journey.
Looking forward to the Sunday show. Take care 🤗

  11. All I can say is, if it’s as cold in Glasgow as it is up here, you will need your thermals packed on top of the demo box! Hope you have a great time, and if you get a chance go and check out the newly refurbished Miss Cranston’s Willow Tea Room – all restored according to Charles Rennie MacIntosh’s original plans. There was a documentary about it last year sometime and we went last time we were in Glasgow – well worth a visit for the beauty of the design, and lunch was great too. x

  12. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow. I already have the tits (stamps!!) but like the blossom -anyone know if it is possible to get it separately?? I’m assuming the tit stamps are the same as the ones already out? Am I wrong? I love these stamps as I also have a garden full of tits of all kinds, as well as many other kinds of birds including goldfinches in plenty -would love a stamp of those and also woodpeckers.

  13. Just love your sense of humour and your little knitted friend is awesome! We’re lucky enough to have lots of birds – Bluetits, Longtail Tits, Linnets, Woodpecker etc visit our garden and they’re on a bit of a feeding frenzy at the mo, which my other half informs me is a sure sign of bad weather…. sure enough it’s been snowing again! Looking forward to tomorrow’s shows and wishing you and Paul a safe journey and lots of fun and laughter at the studios. Recorder will be set in the morning, plus I’ll be watching too.

  14. Hi Barb,
Oh I liked your tits then and I’m liking them now!!! ( Never thought I’d be saying that!)
Love these stamps and am really looking forward to the shows. Linda’s new plates look fabulous too. I’m trying to be good at the moment, but you aren’t making it easy for me are you? Hope your Mum is continuing to make good progress with her new hip. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  15. Hello Barb, safe travels to the studios, looking forward to the shows, but will be watching them recorded. Love the step back to see what you had done previously, one of my favourite sets. And that little knitted Tit, what a lovely gift from a special lady. Take care all. Bx

  16. Oh i needed that giggle, feeling sorry for myself today, It’s a year since my dear Dad passed away and Hubby is away in the US from today for 10 weeks with work – ho hum, I’ll be reet tomorrow.

Happy prep for Glasgow, safe travels x
