Thanks for popping in. An old friend of mine always used to say, “we have good days, and growing days”. Suffice it to say today has been a growing day. In fact, I’ve grown so much my head aches; I’m all grow’d out today.
When everything is peachy and plain sailing, when there are no crashing waves, it’s easy to row the boat. Yesterday it was like a millpond! I guess days like today, when the oars fall in the water, the sails rip and the mast snaps – those are the days when you get to show that you can swim. Stood in the storm and got wet – but it’s not terminal.
You know, it’s not easy running a business, it really isn’t. Especially a manufacturing business. There’s just so much to consider.
We’re just an SME – a small or medium-sized enterprise. But what am I saying, JUST ?!?
Family businesses are the backbone of this country actually. There are 4.8 million family businesses in the UK, of which over 18,000 are medium and large businesses. … In 2017, the family business sector paid £182 billion in tax, more than the annual NHS budget. Family firms employ 13.4 million people in the UK – 50% of private sector employment.
On that note, I’d best get my polling card and go a-voting!
Tomorrow will doubtless be a better day. Well it will be for me; I’m going up to London, to see A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic. Meeting friends outside the theatre at 6.30pm.
So I shall be on the train at 9am. Don’t want to be late, now do I ?!
Love & Hugs,
