Meet Double-Dave!!

Meet Double-Dave!!

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. Been going like the clappers here on my own today. Catching up with this month’s New Design Club and working on something new…

But Friday’s blog a private peek, right? Remember CharlieFarlie the rattlesnake, who was camping outside our back door in New Mexico this summer? Well, as if he wasn’t enough to give you the heebie jeebies, what about his uncle Double-Dave, who turned up in New Jersey this week ?!?!

Now I didn’t know that this particular flavour of snake was even around, did you? So this little fella has actually got – wait for it – TWO HEADS!!!

The venomous snake has two fully-formed heads, four eyes and two flickering tongues – which work independently of each other.
NO WAY!!!
YES WAY!!

Here’s another one, just so you get the picture…

And NOPE. This is not my Dave holding Double Dave either!
NAFC !!!!

There’s something quite comforting about living in England. I mean, we may have our fair share of unsavoury critters – mostly two-legged, overfed, tend to gather around the Westminster area of the Thames. But imagine even the remote possibility of finding one of these in your back garden!! You wouldn’t know which way to run, would you?!? New Jersey, you lost my vote right there!

Anyway, that’s it for today. Time to go and find Dapper Dave.

Love & Hugs

  1. Sends shudders down me! Fancy seeing that, I think I would die on the spot. While in Yosemite my sister and I were walking through the park, worrying about what to do if we saw a bear! At least in the UK we can go out for a walk in the countryside without the fear of being eaten by a wild animal. Xx

  2. Eeewwww!!! As if an ordinary snake wasn’t bad enough!! Why on earth would the Good Lord think we needed something like that?? 🙈🙈🙈
I did like your analogy of two legged critters in the UK!! 🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant. Enjoy your evening with Dapper Dave. Xxx

  3. I think I’d rather have the snake with two heads than some of the snakes in Westminster !!!
Having said that I am so glad we live in the UK where most of the fauna are not life threatening.
My Floral Numbers arrived this morning 🌼🌻🌺 and I have been playing with them for most of the day. They are so beautiful and my home hairdresser has asked me to make some cards for her from both the numbers and flowers after looking through the ii book and my samples. What a result. I am one very happy bunny today 😍
My OH breathed a sigh of relief when I told him next weeks show was “Twas the night” because I have these and so will not be spending – unless of course something else comes up which is irresistable – hahaha!
Looking forward to this months club package, it is always a nice surprise.
    Have a good weekend.
    Hugs 🍒🍒🍒

  4. I was just hoping that hadn’t inspired the New Design Club but since you do not look upon double Dave with any kind of fondness, I think we might be safe!!! Lol. I had no idea such a thing existed. Not visiting New Jersey any time soon!

  5. Hmmm New Jersey would not get my vote either. Absolutely no chance. Give me the lovely little family of hedgehogs that we have in our back garden any day. They are so cute, five little ones and mum, I am sure they have their own characters. I think the little ones will be off to a rescue centre this next week as they will not survive the winter otherwise. xx

  6. I couldn’t even look at the pictures, as snakes freak me out. Two heads – aaargh!
I love your analogy of the people around Westminster, though unfortunately it is all too true.
I read today that hospitals in Kent have booked hotel rooms for their staff after Brexit, as they may have problems getting in to work due to traffic jams. What a sorry state of affairs, when the NHS is so short of money. Sorry to mention the “B” word, but it infuriates me.
Have a good weekend. Hugs. Annette X

  7. Hi Barb, I guess the snake is a conjoined twin. Fascinating, at a distance…!!! Those 2 legged critters you talk about seem to be in abundance in all walks of life around the UK, not just the Westminster area… Very scary times indeed just now. A time to come together and do our bit, as used to happen in dire times in Britain. Sadly, that doesn’t seem likely in today’s society. But you never know, this might just be the making of society. Everything happens for a reason, and there are positives in almost everything if you look for them. That’s what I do anyway, it sure does turn things around.

I hope you have a quiet weekend planned with your (single headed) Dave. Love you xxxx

  8. Perhaps all those two legged critters should go on a jolly to New Jersey and meet the two headed ones. I certainly would not want to meet either type. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)
P.S. Thank you to the hard working Clarity elves for my parcel which arrived this afternoon.

  9. I don’t think I would want to meet that on a dark night, definitely double trouble. Our son lives in Australia where there are plenty of things to cause you aggravation and pain, but here we are extremely lucky to have fairly benign wild life. I’m glad you have been able to catch up on things and intrigued to know what the ‘something new’ is but know we will find out when the time is right. x

  10. I had such a busy day too yesterday, going to support someone attending their first recovery meeting and then to receive an award for my little befriending charity. Tired, happy and proud in equal measure! Also intrigued Barbara – working on something new….

  11. Barb, that has made my hair stand on end. I’m glad it was not Dapper Dave holding it. Good laugh about the two legged critters. Hope you had a lovely evening. Take care all. Bx

  12. Love your comment about the two-legged critters. Glad we haven’t anything as scary as DD here in the UK although once on a walk in Thetford forest my OH and I saw 28 adders of various sizes, basking by the path in 50 yards! Has anyone else got an OT like mine? Whenever we visit a nature reserve and they have a board where you can list any wildlife you have seen, I have to stop him writing Elephant!!! xx

  13. I wasn’t able to read all of your blog today Barbara as I am terrified of snakes, even pictures and had to close my eyes as I scrolled down the page. I don’t even like talking about them, so I will say no more, but Please, don’t do this to us again.

  14. I don’t mind snakes at all and find it fascinating that you found one with 2 heads!
I notice that there are no prizes to guess what NAFC stands for 😂🤣😂🤣

  15. No thank you fir s two headed snake suppose we get to head humans so I guess it possible in Mother Nature with animals to glad we don’t have snakes here but as you say we have some two legged snakes here to though not sure which is worst. Something new did you say how exciting bloke forward to it xxx

  16. Phew! I thought you were about to say you were doing something for the design club that is a snake! – I cant even look at those pictures! I wouldn’t even be able to look at anything that resembles a snake! I am now off to distract myself from the thought……..
