From messy to organised!

From messy to organised!

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well on this blustery Saturday afternoon!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the lovely Lou Withers eased me into my mixed media journey. Despite the faces I pulled, I really did have a fantastic time. She is an amazing friend and teacher and it was great to be able to work alongside her.

As I said in yesterdays blog, I have always been in awe of Barbara, Leonie, Lou, Sam, Dee etc but never felt confident in giving it a go. I know that this is the same for a lot of people, so to be able to share that experience with you on Hochanda has been amazing and I have learnt so much.

If you missed the shows, you can watch on Rewind via the Hochanda website:
Watch the 12noon show HERE
Watch the 4pm show HERE

Anyway, before I make my way home, I thought I would post today’s blog.

Today has been a messy day, but in a great kind of way, and as I am sort of known for being Mr Clean and Tidy (my other half would disagree!) I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to have a bit of a weekend offer on the Clarity Storage solutions.

For this weekend only save 25% off Clarity storage folders.

Ends Midnight Monday 12th August

Enjoy the rest of your evening and I will be back tomorrow!

Happy Crafting

Paul xxx

  3. Well done Paul, you were amazing, and from what you produced you’d never know you were a novice. Loved, loved, loved both shows. You looked a lot more comfortable with messy craft in the second show, didn’t take you long to catch the bug eh!!! Hopefully I will soon too… What a special lady Lou seems to be, and an amazing teacher. I look forward to part 2 of Lou Lou lessons. Hopefully I’ll have had a wee go at part 1 by then…!!! Thank you Paul and Lou, safe journey home xx
p.s. I did laugh at you practising your presenter skills, are you worried that after all your naughtiness your p45 is also awaiting you on Barb’s return?…!!!

  4. Well done Paul. You did so well today. Great shows with Lou. I loved your facial expressions when you got paint on your hands!!

  5. What brilliant shows. I really enjoyed not only the inspiration but the entertainment too! – It almost looked painful for you having to finger paint! – I love Lou, she does make me laugh.
I am sure Barbara will be proud of you both when she see’s what you both got up to!
Well done and thank you for cheering my afternoon up!

  6. The shows were amazing! Loved them and what you created was great. The humour in the shows was great too. Loved your turn at presenting too! Xx

  7. Evening g bloggy friends, hope everyone enjoyed the shows. Sooooo windy here today, keep expecting Mary Poppins to blow in holding her kite! Xx

  8. Brilliant shows Lou and Paul. I learnt lots and found the whole of it so very entertaining. You soon got the hang of getting messy and your finished projects were fantastic. Lou is a brilliant teacher. X

  9. Well done Paul, Lou & Hochanda! Really interesting shows, educational and fun. I learned loads. More please!! Safe journeys home.
PS thanks Linda and Clarity team, my Heart Sampler Groovi plate arrived today. Really fast delivery and I think one of my favourite plates so far!

  10. Those shows were amazing Paul! Even I am tempted to have a go at mixed media after that. What a fantastic teacher Lou is. They should clone her and put one in every school in the land, to show kids just how wonderful art can be. Seriously though, the two of you were brilliant and your presenting skills were smooth and unobtrusive too.
I e mailed Hochanda, as you requested, to ask for more of the same. Safe travels and a good evening. Hugs. Annette X

  11. Well done Paul and Lou,a great show. Lou is a fantastic teacher and you made a good pupil Paul. Messy hands can be cleaned. The end results were good. xx

  12. Just sat and watched both programmes. Great fun. Took me back to when I did a watercolour course and we experimented with all sort of things to create textures. I must find the time to get out my art materials and have a go again.
I must agree with you that although it is a telesales company by showing people that anyone can create wonderful things it encourages us to buy the products.
This might be a good idea for Youtube Tuesday.

  13. I totally agree with all of the above comments- the shows were brilliant. Hope you have a safe journey home and a well deserved rest.

  14. Hi Paul,
I’ve only managed to watch the first show so far and I have to say I loved it! Your face was an absolute picture when you were told to finger paint and then to put your finger in the glue! I’m still amazed that you managed to keep your lovely pristine white shirt clean – mine would’ve been covered with paint after 5 minutes! I was very impressed with how quickly you picked everything up and the end result. You have even inspired me to get messy! Thanks Paul and of course Lou who was brilliant. Love Alison x

  15. Hi Paul,
Recorded Lou’s shows, sat down to watch Sat pm, only got a short way into the first programme.
Normally I love to watch you work but I saw the aprons go on, saw the heap of paints on the table, and my messy detector went into overdrive and I switched off!!!
The samples from the design team are spectacular and I have a great deal of respect for those who embrace this art form but it’s not for me to do.☹️
Thank you for the storage offer, ordered some spares as I know I will be buying more Groovi plates. My heart plate arrived yesterday and I love it.
Got to go, busy day ahead.

  16. Hello Paul, have not watched it all yet, but what I did watch was just awesome. You did get into it. Lou is just superb and her laugh is infectious. Lovely offer on storage. Hope you got home ok. Take care all. Bx

  17. Hi Paul
I caught up with the first show last night, I have to say my heart sunk when I saw your nice clean white shirt but no you were still clean at the end and Lou had paint on hers! Oh I did laugh at your face when you were told finger painting and glue with your hands, such a good show and I loved the end product. Might even be tempted myself, enjoy your Sunday. I hope barbara and Dave landed safely .
    Love Diane xx
