#Walkerscrisps

Hi there,

Stop the clock! Just got in from having supper with the crew. Hall’s all set ready for Ditton Open Day No. 1. I just have to figure out what I am doing tomorrow! My morning was interesting. Whilst the men – hunter gatherers – loaded the van, it was my job to go foraging for food – #CashnCarry. So I wrote a list of what we will need in order to make about 600 rounds of sandwiches and as many cups of tea, you know, bread, butter, milk, teabags and stuff, and duly shot off to Bookers. I quickly realised that I would need to go round twice – once for the bread, and once for the crisps!

So here we see my first haul…

Back in I went for the next lot… biscuits and crisps. All part of a well balanced diet.

Trouble was, car was full, but….

Still had to find a space for this little lot!

So had to unload the lot and repack it in the carpark. Love that. Especially when you’ve got places to go and people to see – and you’ve got a 6 hour window to set up the hall!

Crisps are such a bulky buy, aren’t they?! Hahaha Front seat too, see?

She pushed and she shoved and she huffed and she puffed, but no no no, not by the hair of her chinny chin chin, could she get the smokey bacon in!

Scheissenhausen, I thought, do I actually have to sit here in Bookers carpark and eat all of these! Because if I do, I’m swapping them for Salt n Vinegar!

All in a day’s work!

You know what they say: where there’s a willy there’s a way! And I eventually cruised off to Ditton, completely engulfed in Walkers Crisps. Haven’t got nearly enough, so will have to run by there tomorrow on the way in! Just tell me what flavour to get, and they haven’t got any Prawn Cocktail!

But how nice it was to be greeted at the Hall by Sam and Heather, who drove down from the North yesterday

Sam Crowe. Always wanted to be a trolly dolly she says…

It is Steve’s birthday today. He was larking about… “Had the chance to go up the Westend to see a show,” he said, “but no! I’m off to Ditton today!” Then he starts shouting GIVE ME A D D GIVE ME AN I I GIVE ME A T T, and so on. Silly arse.

And here we see Martine giving Brother Steve a Happy Birthday cuddle.
I think they were arguing over who was younger….

And Paul must have walked a hundred miles today! No wonder there’s not a gram of fat on him!

But now everything is set to welcome our guests tomorrow and Saturday. And once I have packed my craft stuff tonight and made a little plan, I shall sleep like a lamb for sure.

Safe travels to any of you coming to visit.

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

    Maggie (Silvercrafter).
P.S. I am going to the snip clinic first to find out why I can’t snip bold stuff. I love the fine stuff but not bold.

  5. Was supposed to be coming … tickets bought …. now my OH has to work. All her SMT at school are off so she can’t be. The joys of being a headteacher. Me I’ll be sat at home 😢ing

  6. Am so very very jealous but health must come first and no way could I sit through let alone drive that far right now. Maybe one day lol!
You did make me laugh though with the crisps!!!

I do have one thing I’m loving right now and that’s all because of Sam’s Gelli Youtube videos – I finally cracked that blooming Gelli plate and can do it at last. It took me forever to learn to brayer too if I remember rightly. Well I’m playing with my small Gelli plates and your lovely craft a long stencil and lots of acrylics and loving it too. Give Sam a huge thanks from me – you all will never know how much it means to finally be able to do some things lol! Enjoy your time with your loyal fans xx

  7. Oh Barb, you are funny, but handling all that lot on your own you deserve a medal.
Happy Birthday to Steve, sounds like a fun guy.
Have a super weekend at Ditton.
    Hugs 🍒🍒🍒

  8. Oh it’s looking fantastic..wish circumstances would allow me to come down. Have a fabulous couple of days xxxx

  9. So wanted to come but not able to this time but will one day soon. Sound like brookers was hard work phew you did it in end !! Have a fantastic time sound like it’s going to be happy birthday Steve xxx

  10. Your trip to the cash & carry sounds like one of those comedy sketches. Having done many a trip to the cash & carry for Scout activities it never looks so much stacked on the trolley but when you try & get it in the car – well that is a completely different story. In some ways it was a good job you were on your own as your passenger would have to have walked home !! but there again they could have carried that rogue box of crisps. Hope you all have a fabulous 2 days & we will catch up with the goings on when we see Maggie next Thursday at Bromsgrove. Meanwhile my shopping list is growing for Leyburn & the rate the year is going that will soon be here to. x

  11. Looks like my car when I do the shopping for the fishing boat to go to sea for a week!! Have fun at the open days everyone xx

  12. Hi Barb, that really gave me a good giggle this morning. There will be a year when the day job does not interfere and I will get to attend. Safe travels everyone. Bx

  13. Oh I am so jealous! I wish I was coming down and would even eat salt and vinegar crisps, which I hate😂
I know that everyone will have a great time and it will be worth all the effort and hard work.
Happy birthday to Steve. Hugs. Annette x

  14. Hope you all have a fabulous time. I so wish I was coming too, maybe one year I will hide in the back of Maggie’s car and surprise everyone!! Wait, what am I saying, hide in Maggie’s car??? Where??? Lol. Laugh lots, sell lots, and above all enjoy time spent with friends. Clarity rocks. Xxxx
