It’s time to dance!

It’s time to dance!

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in. Cor blimey. Can you believe it? A week ago today we were hopping about in Ditton at the Open Days. What a gig that was! The vibe was so special, I smile whenever it crosses my mind. We’ve booked the hall for next year already! But this weekend is family time…

Just on the way out to our local Black Deer Festival. It’s not Glastonbury for sure, but I bet it will be super (well, it’ll be what we make it) – and it’s only up the road a few hundred yards!! So look out!

Tie-Dye Gray is on her way, and she’s all revved up to dance and play!

The older I get, the less I seem to worry about what other people think. The opinion of others used to cripple me, fear of not being liked turned me into a chronic people pleaser. I was always doing what other people wanted, or what I thought they wanted. I am still wired thay way, and often catch myself doing other peoples’ bidding and not my own.

But on days like today, with Grace here, when the sun is shining and there’s a music festival down the road, let’s loosen them there work shackles and let our hair down!

So no arty blog today – we’re off to boogy! I’ll be sure to take a few pics though!

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Have great fun. I know what you mean about always trying to please others. I too am slowly saying no more often ! Xx

  2. You’re young at heart Barb, sing, dance, and enjoy the day. The weather looks fine so no muddy fields.

I stopped worrying about what people thought of me a long time ago. Stopped trying to please everyone too. Widowed at 47 everyone thought they knew what was best for me, tried to tell me what to do, so I rebelled and went off to spend Easter in Paris on my own. Shock, horror!! Can’t please everyone – this is me, take me or leave me, like me or loathe me, but don’t try to tell me how to live my life. It’s mine to enjoy with those I love.

Have a great time. Look forward to seeing the photos.
    Hugs to all 🍒🍒🍒

  3. With the weather finally warming up a weekend off is definitely the way to go. I am sure you will all have a fabulous time.

  4. What a line up, would love to have seen KK yesterday, had a huge crush on him when I was younger, have a wonderful day, enjoy it all, like you, it took me to my sixth decade to finally say, hold on, this is me, take me or leave me, I’m not perfect, never will be, but at last I am happy being me.

  5. Hi Barb,
Have a fabulous time. I’m with you in that I’ve given up to worrying about what people think – I am who I am! I think hitting 60 gave me a bit of freedom!! Love and hugs,Alison xx

  6. Have fun.
Did you do the background for the poster? I’m sure I can spot the Wee Folk stamps at the bottom!! 😊

  7. Dance whilst you can, and enjoy time with your lovely family! As a former people pleaser I so understand where you’re coming from, but I too find that as I get older I don’t care as much what other people think. Wish I could go back to my late 20s with the knowledge and life experience I have now – boy would I have made some different choices!!!

  8. Like you Barb I try to please everyone and never always what pleases me. I do put my foot down occasionally, more often these days. Have a great weekend with your family and at your gig tonight. Dance like there’s nobody watching.xxx

  9. Have fun, sounds like a fun evening spent dancing and having fun with loved ones. Looking at that line up I would love to go on Sunday and see The Shires, they are amazing and I have seen them live before. Just got all my bits together for tomorrow when I join in with Leoni and her craftalong. Also just received your July kit, looks like that will be fun too, love the designs. XX

  10. Evening bloggy firends, hope you day was sunny and you are all set to craftalong tomorrow if you are joining in the fun. XX

  11. Hi Barb, what a fab looking festival, maybe something to look at for us next year. Great line-up, hope you are enjoying it. Take care all. Bx

  12. I can no longer worry about what others think, let them talk or gossip or b@@ch about what they think we should do or not do.
Enjoy your down time, you work so hard as we all know, it’s well past time to let your hair down and play a little, so I hope you had a lovely time and really enjoyed your night xx

  13. Hi Barbara
