Flowering Sunday

Flowering Sunday

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in. Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mums out there! My Mum and Dad are coming over soon for lunch, so I’d best get in the kitchen and help Dave! My own kids live too far away to come for lunch. But hey ho. That’s the way the cookie crumbles and all that jazz.

Paul’s pedalling away on HOCHANDA today, showcasing those lovely floral layering stamps and groovi designs by our Tina.

WHAT A GREAT SET! CLICK HERE
available individually too. click here to investigate

If you caught the 6pm show last night, you will have seen Paul cut away the frame on the stamp. Very very simple to do. Not necessary, but certainly opens up other avenues. Here’s how:

Now let’s make the card. Here’s a neat and simple step by step. Paul did it on telly last night, if you prefer to watch on HOCHANDA Catch up TV

Paul’s Mum passed away very suddenly a few years ago. One minute she was there, the next she was gone. I know Mother’s Day always hits him hard, and I know that many of you will be missing your mums today. I have a future memory of that. But today, I shall be serving a lovely roast lamb for my parents and my brother and Sheila, because I still can. And I am oh so grateful for that. Even though I get sad that my own kids are so very far away, they’re just living life to the full somewhere else! They’re still here! Just not here here!!

Maybe it’s a good thing that Paul has to focus on the TV shows. I hope you can join him at 1pm and 5pm today. Hochanda.com

Must dash! I left Dave peeling the spuds. So I’d best get my apron on and join in!

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Hope you have a great day Barbara. I will be popping over to visit my mum later. I will only see one of my children as the others are also a distance away! Paul is doing a fabulous job with the ODS!

  2. Enjoy having your mum and dad over and spoiling them. I too miss my mum, been nine years now. She had a heart of gold, could be awkward too but can’t we all. A gem. Paul has been doing amazing job and I like the idea of cutting out that stamp. Might be a job for Fred to do. X X

  3. Happy Mothers Day to you and your Mum. We’re going out for lunch with Mum today but she’s paying ! It’s our Christmas present – what with illness and other things this is the first day we can actually all go out. She often comes here on a Sunday for lunch in any case ! I have two step-sons and they always turn up with some flowers for me, I feel sorry for them really as one of them has ‘4 mums – mum-in-laws’ and the other 3 ! However, it has it’s advantages for them in many ways ! Loving the stamps, I’m trying to concentrate on Groovi and have the corresponding plates but these plates are tempting me …… I have so many stamps and groovi I haven’t used which is bad isn’t it ?! Have a good day x x

  4. We are having lunch with my Mom today as well as our daughter & 2 granddaughters. Sadly my mother in law passed away suddenly 4 years ago so we treasure every moment with Mom who is an active 90 year old with more energy than me at times.

  5. Happy Mother’s Day to you Barbara and to your Mum!
Sadly my Mum passed away 6 years ago and my daughter is too far away for me to spend the day with her! But we’ve had a lovely chat this morning, so that ‘s fine too.
I shall watch Paul on tv and he is such a gem – it will probably help him to be busy today and such a lot of us will be keeping him company.
Enjoy your day with your family. Love and hugs to you all, Gilly xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – Happy Mother’s Day to you all!
I know that I have been absent from here for such a long time – last night was my 1st comment in ages. I have a lot of Clarity to catch up on, and I shall be doing that gradually.
Alison – how is your spending going? I shall look forward to you letting me know haha!
Love and hugs to you all, Gilly xxx

      1. Hi Gilly,
Good to have you back with us. Hope you and Neill are both Ok. My spending is going very well ( too well really!). I’m not buying anything in the ODS but have just seen there’s a new 1-2-3 plate in the Pergamano show so I know that will just fall into my basket! Sending love and hugs to you and Neill, Alison xxxx

  6. Happy Mother’s Day Barb. Enjoy your lunch with your Mum and Dad. I am sure Grace and Mark will be thinking of you too. Have a lovely day. Xxx

  7. Happy Mothering Sunday to everyone. My Mum died nearly 54 years ago, so have very few memories, cherish what you have.
Just a thought, is it possible to sell the frames and the centre of the stamp, for those of us that can’t handle a craft knife?

  8. Those look lovely. I’ll try to watch Paul’s shows on catch up. Had a lovely chat with my mum this morning but I live too far away to see her in person and they are too old for Skype! Enjoy your day x

  11. Happy mothers day. Just been to lay some flowers for mum who we lost 14 years ago. Love the stamps but need to play with all the purchases made before my holiday and lying unopened on my craft desk before I choose anything else.

  12. Enjoy your day Barb and Happy Mother’s day to everyone – I am missing my mum today – it’s been a few years but still hurts. My two boys are good to me though. Paul is doing a great job on Hochanda and keeping us entertained. I’ve spent too much again but hey ho!!

  13. Happy Mothering Sunday to all you mums out there in Clarityland.
I’m not a mum (unfortunately) but Ray has decided to treat me anyway. Tonight he is cooking Filet de Boeuf en Crout with all the trimmings followed by a strawberry dessert. Bang goes the diet!!!
Hope your kids managed to contact you today and that you have a fab time with your mum & dad.
Paul is a treasure doing a great job on Hochanda.
Love and hugs to all on this lovely sunny day.

  14. Hope you have had a lovely day with your mum and dad. I had a visit from three of my granddaughters. Very special. Spoke to my daughter in kong kong. Such a shame on her own, and I had her daughters. Such a shame when families are so far away. But so nice when we get the chance to meet. Xx

  15. Hi Barbara and everyone, happy Mothers day to all the mum’s out there.
As quite a few of you my mum passed quite a lot of years ago.
    But yesterday a card
Came through the post for me from my step daughter , she never forgets and this means more to me than loads of flowers and presents..
    She is a star.
Have a good day Barbara and Dave plus your mum and dad.
    Lots of love

  16. Love watching Paul❣️He’s got such a gentle, relaxing manner when he’s explaining his demo’s even when using a craft knife on the borders🙈
Can’t wait till our surprise next weekend Barbara🤗 Could it possibly be the release of your flower designs👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
    Counting down my sleeps already💤
Might even make a crafty “count down” chart to tick off the sleeps…….. ☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️

  17. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums, spending a relaxing day with my Mum. Sisters are all round and we were getting a Chinese for tea…phoned to order and it is closed! It is NEVER closed! So my sisters have gone off to find another one. Just enough time to pop on here so silver linings and all that! XX

  18. Evening bloggy friends, managed to get a few Easter cards finished this afternoon, now waiting for the hunters to return with dinner. Have a good evening everyone. XX

  19. I hope you enjoyed your day with your parents and family. It isn’t Mothers Day in the USA until May -like Australia, is it? Maybe you’ll get a surprise then?!

  20. I’m with Paul. My mum went early and I try not to think about the day. Interesting that he took the frame off. I wouldn’t dare try but I can see it stretches your stash, if you do. I’ll stick to the easier things.

  21. Hi Barb,
Happy Mothers Day. It is not a day I look forward to nowadays as I lost my Mam 7 years ago and still miss her so much. I know how Paul feels so it will have done him good to have something else to focus on. He did really well today. I’ve been having a go at doodling today – I did the elephant on plain parchment to see how I got on before venturing onto the ” posh” stuff! I am really pleased with how it turned out. Going to try the cockerel next! Just getting ready to watch Line of Duty at 9. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  22. I did see Paul cut away the edge of the stamp last night and was holding my breath hoping it wouldn’t go wrong and of course it didn’t. He gave plenty of hints and tips for using the stamps. Much enjoyed.

  23. Hope you’ve all had a good Mother’s Day, don’t very often see my children on this day either, but have a nice phone call and card etc. Hubby took me out for lunch. Lost my Mum 30 years ago in 2 weeks. Still really miss her, sometimes it seems like yesterday. Hope you’ve had a lovely day with your parents Barb, lamb is my favourite roast too, not many places do lamb when you eat out.xxx

  24. Happy Mother’s Day to you and your Mum. Hope you had a lovely day! I’m currently in Germany where Mother’s Day is in May. So a normal Sunday here. Sadly missed Paul on telly today as I was our but hooray for Rewind. So I can catch up tomorrow. Xx

  25. I did catch a bit of Paul’s first show but had to go out so will endeavour to catch up. I know how you feel as our son lives in Australia, but he does always send a card, and he has just been for a visit but left us to go to London a couple of days ago, and thence to Heathrow for his flight home today, but a card was left here for me which was lovely, and he left me a message from the airport this morning before his flight. You just want them to live the life they wish and be happy. Hope you had a lovely day with the family…roast lamb is my favourite. x

  26. Hello Barb, I hope you and your Mum had a lovely Mothers Day and enjoyed the roast lamb. Sounds delicious. Paul was as always professional and inspiring. The shows were recorded to watch today. My sympathies go out to him. Hard to put on a public face, when your heart is hurting. I am sure Mark and Grace called to wish you, and they are always close to you, even when so far away. I have neither Mom or Mum-in-law anymore, but a few of the children popped round with cards and gifts, which really made my day, and hubby made a bbq. Take care all. Bx
