The Earth has Music

The Earth has Music

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. And thanks for watching and cheering Maria along this afternoon on HOCHANDA! She did so well, didn’t she?!

The designs by Mel are delightful as stencils,

pair of A5 stencils

and I love them as Groovi.

Pair of new plates

As always the ever clever Design Team created some pretty spectacular samples for the TV show….

Carys James-Richards
Karen Jackson
Glynis Whitehead
Linda Page

And then to make them into Dies! Well!! Irresistible to me. Wait till you see next week’s Youtube! I have combined Gelpress printing with these Dies.

Tell you what though. I have got the protoypes of these designs as 3-way overlay stamps. Oh boy. Wait till you see them! All 3 images are just perfect.

Anyway, many thanks to Maria for taking the TV reins today, and allowing me to take a day off. Sometimes you just have to step away from the coalface to get a clearer picture.

I’ve been a little overwhelmed so far this year. There’s so much to consider at work, so many things going on at the same time, that I just seem to be spinning my wheels.

So, first thing this morning, I decided to embark on one project which was relatively simple, could be completed quickly and required nobody else’s input: I sorted out my knicker drawer! Piece of cake! Tomorrow, I shall sort out my shoes and boots. Tick that box too! And if I’m feeling ambitious, I may even tackle my sock drawer. ANY progress, ANY box ticked helps me feel I have not lost the plot! Yet!

Love & Hugs,

Barb

  1. I am trying to get over a rather nasty stomach bug at the moment so was able to watch both of the shows. Love the new dies and oooooooo excited for the stamps. Well done on organising your drawers, I washed my hair so we both had small wins today. XX

    1. Hello Donna – sorry to hear your poorly, a lot of it going a
round at the moment. Hope your soon feeling better. Sending you a big hug, love from the other Donna X

  2. When you have finished sorting your drawers, can you pop over and have a go at mine, please? What I managed to see of today’s shows was great. Sadly, the gasman had impeccable timing. Still, it is all recorded so I can look again, especially the die cutting of the double sided adhesive sheets. Maria has so many good ideas for us to try. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

    1. So aggravating, isn’t it, Maggie? For me it’s always, always the phone. (Surest way to make someone return my call–get into the tub.)

These designs are absolutely gorgeous. Should have a little money to spend soon, and maybe a brand new art studio, so I have space to play!

  3. I’ve done the knickers & socks just trying to pluck up the courage to do the wardrobe (well I might lose weight…..) & then da da daaa…. the kitchen cupboards!
However I just had an idea for a card…😂😂😂

  4. Hi Barb,
Sorting cupboards and drawers is hard to start but so satisfying when it’s done.
Being under the weather we both snuggled down with hot drinks and comfort food and watched Maria do a great job today. Placed my order with Clarity and had a kip between shows. Feel a bit better today although Ray is still in a bit of a state. 😩
Don’t let your wheels spin too quickly – slow and steady gets things done just as fast.
    Have a good evening.

  5. Hi Barbara
I love the designs of these new groovi and dies ,
Had to have them both I already own the stencils
    Maria did a fantastic job.
As for you box ticking is a task in itself and you never loose the plot. Xx

  6. Hi Barbara and everyone, I know what you mean, we have been in the loft after decorating our lounge before Christmas.
The husband says if it’s been in the loft after 10 year it’s going and it did felt great after a good clear out.
I haven’t caught up with Maria’s shows yet but will catch up later.
I do love these dies, you always seem to do different dies to others which is great.
Do not let yourself spin, take time out I know it must be hard juggling things but do try and relax.
    Lynn xx

  7. Hi Barb,
Love these dies and plates, but will have to wait to buy them ( Gilli I hope you’re impressed at my willpower!). Didn’t catch the shows unfortunately but will watch on rewind. I always like watching Maria’s demos. It always feels good to get something like a drawer tidied I must admit. I went slightly larger and have now finished tidying my craft cupboard ( a big double classroom cupboard) and can now find things! Also managed to do my desk so it is completely clear. I was knackered when doing them, but so pleased with the results. Might even do my knicker drawer tomorrow after swimming ( hopefully in a cooler pool than yesterday). Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  8. Hi Barbara, you need to do something to relax your mind. I have learned to listen to one thing at a time, eg the Wind or a special bird in the Garden and then let your thoughts be thoughts. Let them fly by. It NOT every thought that you have to “grab”.
Marias shows were great. Hope her shoulder will be fine soon.

  9. Maria was brilliant today and the samples from the DT were amazing, as always. They do a fantastic job.
I keep thinking about having a sort out, but thinking is as far as I have got. I just haven’t been able to motivate myself so far this year. I need a rocket up my backside, I think. 😳 hope you enjoyed pottery class today. Hugs. Annette x

  10. Hello Barbara – I think we have all had the same idea today. Sorted out craft stuff that was under the bed(won’t fit in the craft room). Sorted out cupboards and threw loads. Felt great after and managed to watch Maria at 12. Just had to buy the fresh cut dies.Tomorrow is sorting out my craft desk as there’s too much on it and I end up sitting on the floor!! Need more storage me thinks. Lots of love Donna X

  11. Here take it easy don’t over do it tackling sock draw and shoes at same time 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 Love it. Git back only little while ago so tomorrow will watch Maria on tv sound like was great rest up afte tackling that knicker draw hope got to pottery class and had fun nighty night Joy xxx

  12. Ha! Ha! I threw a pair away today ! Dread to think how old they were ! WIll have to catch up with the shows as I didn’t get chance to watch. Lovely stencils and plates though. Wasn’t it pottery today? X

  13. Love the dies, watched the first show and have the second recorded.
I have also been tidying. I saw someone on the One Show folding tops in a different way so you can see exactly what you have when you open the drawer and it works! I found tops I forgot I had. Also tidied out the kitchen cupboard where I keep wrapping paper and bags and some of the grandchildren’s toys . I keep looking at them just to see how tidy they are. My son and I had a go at the garage too, stuff that has been there since my father-in-law died 12 years ago and my aunt 11 years ago. Two car loads to the dump and 1 car load to the charity shop. Feels great xx

  14. I missed Maria today but will watch on catchup. The two new designs are just great and give us a preview of Spring with the birds and the hares, but I think the hares are my favourite. I know what you mean about small victories. In the last few days I have caught up with tasks that had been put aside for quite a while, and getting some of these things crossed off the list does make you feel more positive, so pleased you also ticked a personal box. x

  15. Hi Barb, Maria was as always, full of ideas and inspiration. Bless her with her dodgy shoulder too. The shows were great as were all the products, samples and demos. My must have are the dies, unfortunately have to wait for Payday first. I hope you take it easy, but do know what you mean about spinning wheels. I have a number of things that need doing, and I think like you I am going to tackle and tick them off one by one. Take care all. Bx

  16. Hi Barbara
Loved Maria’s shows, so many ideas and of course brilliant design team samples. Well done sorting out your knicker drawer, good idea to start small ( or smalls ! 😂) the socks will soon follow.
    Love Diane xxx
