A one-off scrap…
Hi there!
Thanks for popping in.
Been working away up here in my little art studio in the trees all day. I’m a monthly/regular contributor to a couple of magazines. Have been for years. Cardmaking & Papercraft is one, and Craft Stamper is the other. So I wanted to get them off my desk. These things take time though; sometimes it goes fast and I get a satisfactory, magazine-worthy result straightaway. Other times, it can take all day to do one. But that’s art for you – you can’t just churn it out willy nilly, can you?
So today took a while, but the results were pleasing, and the write up is always fast. I get a lot of practice in with this ere blog!
And then I was cleaning up the scraps and the leftovers, and I happened upon this piece of scrap.
Well not really a scrap at all, just not going to the Publishing Party! In fact, on closer inspection, it’s really rather lovely!
Look!
Even the bleeds and the blots are rather cool…
So a quick trim and mount on a black card blank, and Bob’s your uncle!
In fact, I like it so much, I’ve signed it. It’s a one-off! An original!
Time to stop for a bit and regroup.
Dave is working hard at the office today. Building new shelving and work benches. Steve was in today too, trying to get ahead of the game. And I’ve been ticking some important boxes myself. All in all a day well spent – thus far!
Love & Hugs,
Barb

PS. If you want to know how I did this, watch You Tube Tuesday on – wait for it – TUESDAY !!! Or was it Friday?….

I like this one very much, Barbara. I would be very proud if I had created it. I have just got home from Sunday lunch with Bec and family, followed by a lesson on one of her crafts. That is the rest of the day sorted for me. At least it is not hard work like Dave and Steve. Hope they get a break before the mayhem next week. xxx Maggie
Looking forward to Tuesday as i really like the look of the gelli prints done with alcohol ink. Sitting here just before starting dinner watching Nadal playing the final in the French Open. Always gets me looking forward to Wimbledon. Xx
Afternoon bloggy friends, lots of jobs done today so no craft for me yet. Have a good evening everyone. Xx
Hi Donna,
Hope you enjoyed the tennis. I’m looking forward to Wimbledon I must admit. Good to get jobs out of the way too. Love and hugs Alison xxxx
Enjoy Wimbledon hugs xxx
Your one off is gorgeous Barbara and it is always good to save things and not get rid of them immediately as often a second look at a later date will make you view it with a different eye. Will look out for next week’s You Tube Tuesday. x
Hi Barbara
This is lovely who would have thought it was a piece of scrap. I’m looking forward to seeing how you did this. Sounds like a productive day all round. Glad you were able to tick some boxes, always a good feeling. Enjoy poldark tonight 😊
Love Diane xxx
Hello lovely blog friends hope you’ve had a good day. I started to make our friends wedding cakes today, I need to make 6 cakes in total. The first one hasn’t worked out quite how I thought it would so we shall eat that one and I know what to for the next one, sending hugs xxx
Hi Diane,
I’m feeling quite hungry now! I’m going to try to stir myself and do some baking tomorrow hopefully. I gradually trying to do a bit more each day but it is so tiring – not used to being shattered after walking round a supermarket!! Really looking forward to being able to get back into the pool I must say. Sending love and hugs, Alison xxxx

Hi Barb,

I bet you’re looking forward to Poldark tonight – I know I certainly am! Sending love and hugs to you and Dave, Alison xxx
Hi bloggy friends,
Hope you’re all ok and have had a lovely day. Been gorgeous here today although quite humid – did think we were going to get a storm but it seems to have passed us over. Done a lot of walking today ( well for me at the moment). Not very exciting but I did manage to wander around Sainsbury’s and a couple of other shops, but was absolutely goosed afterwards!it did feel good though! Dave was so proud of me that he bought me a big floor cushion that I liked in Sainsbury’s to use outside as a footstool. It is gorgeous and really soft under my leg – I have it on top of a folding footstool. Off to make a cup of coffee now read to settle down to watch Poldark. Sending love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx
Wow alison your doing so well hugs xxx
Thanks Sheila. I’m determined it’s going to be a success! Love and hugs to you,Alison xxx
Hi Alison, so pleased everything went well. Don’t overdo it though. No Internet on site so only can comment when I get a coffee in Costa.ha ha. Love and hugs Pam xxx
This is fab! Still haven’t had time to play with my alcohol inks on the gelliplate, but it took me 6 months to get it out of its package when I first had it, so maybe I need to think about it for a bit longer yet! Enjoy Poldark x
Amazing……absolutely love it!!
