Spot the Stag Step by Step….

Spot the Stag Step by Step….

Hi there.
Thanks for popping.
Looking a bit bleak outside.
Ominous.
Or is it all the hype about a freak Russian snowstorm coming our way? Ah well. Not much we can do, except wrap up warm and craft!
Anyway, how about some scrapart?
We all like a bit of scrap art!
Now here’s one I hung on to when I was cleaning paint off my brayer the other day. Can you see what I see?

#skidmarksfrombrayer
Humour me, humour me.
My favourite tree stamps, from the Deerscape Set
Just need one for this…
And we need to blend the black and blue ink
to match the skid mark!
#spotthesnow
Now how about a reflection…
Ink up the tree again, blot it once on scrap paper, then plant it on the Gelpress. Any one will do.
See it?
Flip the Gelpress plate on its Megamount and line up the tree trunk of the reflection with the stamped image.
Add a little ground underneath the tree with a sheet of copy paper and a stencil brush with blue-black ink.

Trim back the scrap and mount it on a piece of white 7” x 7” card.
Now can you see what I saw?
If you stare at it, just kind of gaze at the area just behind the tree in the centre, you will see a stag. See the antlers?
He’s standing completely still.
Sshhh….. he can hear you.
Love & Hugs,
Barb

    1. Hi bloggy friends – I hope that you are all keeping safe and warm too! Pam – I hope that Pete's operation has gone well and that you are both back home again now!
I have had a day inside and finally sorted my 3 orders from Gray Friday Sale! I LOVE my pink Pergamano Bag and have got many things inside it now – wonderful! I can pretend that I am a proper parcher now! However, I did also order the Perga Liners too. Do I really take them out of the box and put them into the bag. Also, will they fit into those smaller elastic holders!? All advice welcome please. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx
P.S. I still have an order from the Member's Sale to come!!

    2. Hi Gilly I have been thinking about Pam and Pete too. I would suggest stroking your perga liners for a few days before you get them out of the box lol xx

    3. Haha Chris – I have already been doing that! Jackie – I thought the larger holders were for the distress markers, already put mine into those! Haha – this is going to take some time I think. Must make a card tomorrow, while I think about it more. Thanks for the advice xxx

    4. Hi Gilly,
I've got my Perga colours and Perga Liners in my bag. I have the Perga Liners two to an elastic loop – the 'A' pencils in vertical ones and the 'B' ones in the horizontal holders both towards the back of the bag. I think you just put things where you want them, what works for you. Pleased you've followed my example again and spent in the sale!!! Love and hugs, Alison xxx

  1. forecast looks bad for the east & south east so hope everyone there is home safe & sound before the snowstorm begins. Think it is a case of stay in the warm & craft if we can & place our last sale orders !!

  2. Love your imagination Barb lovely piece of artwork. Had a very relaxing couple of days crafting .Got tickets for NEC Birmingham first time I've been there been on my wish list for a few years

  3. We’ve had some snow ⛄️ flurries this afternoon. We went to the internment of our friend this morning – now that was cold standing in a bright sunny graveyard especially when the wind blew. A lot of imagination needed today I fear – I could only see a 🌲! Xx

  4. I have been squinting at the screen trying to see the stag, like those magic eye books from a few years ago. Love the arty feel of today's project simple but utterly beautiful. Xx

  5. How I wish I had just a percentage of your “eye”, as I can’t see anything specific, just a beautiful piece of art work. Have a good evening and stay warm. Annette x

  6. Evening bloggy friends, hope everyone is staying safe and warm in the cold snowy weather. Had a heavy blizzard this morning but was mostly gone by the afternoon. Heavy snow forecast for the early hours so getting to work will be tricky, mind you I did fancy having a go at ski cross so tomorrow might be the day! Stay safe everyone. Xx

    1. Hi Donna,
Dave and I once skied into school (in 1988 I think it was). We went across the fields from our house down to school ,about 31/2 miles, then walked the last bit to the school. It was great fun ! Mind you ,we hadn't thought about how to get home again – all uphill! Fortunately one of the staff had a Landrover and took us home! I don't envy you being surrounded by excited children tomorrow! Have fun, love and hugs Alison xxx

    2. Oh Donna I do feel for you, children and snow just make the perfect school day! We had an ofsted inspection last time it snowed here, you can imagine how that went down. My friends still working at the school are all hoping for a snow day off! Take care xxx

  7. I’m a newbie to this ‘ere bloggin’ malarkey & couldn’t see a thing at first…….after much gazing I can now see a reindeer, Santa and a snow flurry from Russia with love! Love it.
    Sue. xx

  8. I can sort of see the stag but can see a frozen lake with hills going down to it better. I would have just recycled that piece, maybe I should stare more at my scraps xx

  9. I had to make the picture larger to see the stag and then I saw some little faces as well!! Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm, we even have snow forecast for West Cornwall, my grandson who is 11 tomorrow will be delighted. Having said that, a beautiful magnolia tree in Penzance is in full bloom so Spring can’t be far away xx

  10. I can see an antla after you said great fun looks like we are going to get snow it’s very cold out there so may be time to snuggle up and craft in nice warm home 🏡 xxx

  11. Hi Barb,
Well once you'd told me where to look , after a while I did manage to see the stag. Mind you, if you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have seen it! I would have had to recycle this I'm afraid but you make it come alive! Your lovely staff really helped me out today on the phone – they are really a credit to you. Hope the weather isn't too bad in Kent tomorrow, I think we might be in for an unpleasant day! Love and hugs, Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope you're all prepared for the beast from the east. We've had snow flurries all day today but nothing major although I think we might be getting dumped on tomorrow. Stay safe and warm everyone, love and hugs Alison xxxx

  12. This scrapart is always fascinating as you manage to make a beautiful atmospheric scene from the most unlikely material Barbara..lol, and after you pointed out the stag in the background I could just see it but would never have seen that myself in a million years. I have been out this evening and it is extremely cold out there, but not sure how much if any snow we will get here in the south west, just hope it will be very little. x

    1. Today was my first day in my new job, looking after four boys. The baby was an absolute dream to care for, and we even went out for coffee during our walk. Although it was freezing, it was a lovely day to walk. Looking forward to tomorrow.

    2. Hi Fiona,
Pleased it has gone so well for you – let’s hope it continues. It’s always good when you look forward to going to work. Sending love and hugs,Alison xxx

    3. Lovely to hear you've got a new job Fiona, I hope it goes well. My daughter sent us some photos today, she was sat on aberdeen beach with a beautiful blue sky, it was blooming cold and had snowed earlier but it looked lovely. Keep warm xxx

  13. Time to get the thermals out I think! I hope that it's all hyped up and that no one gets the full force of what is forecast. Remember though if ww do get it bad stay safe and stay warm and remember to check on elderly or sick neighbours!
Great artwork Barbara! I've amassed a number of scraps! Then I forget to look at them!
    Love and hugs Xxxx

  14. Hi Barbara
It always amazes me what you see in the scraps of paper you start with. I could see it needed turning on it's side, the tree looks amazing with the light shining behind it, and then you mentioned the Stag. I looked hard and blow me down, there it was! Fantastic. Keep warm and snug.
    Love Diane xxx

  15. My scrap would've gone in the bin like Alison's (lol!) but I'm loving the wintry scene you've created from it, definitely weather appropriate!

  16. I can only see light through an open doorway, but now there's a tree in it! I can imagine how much snow you must have though for Crowborough to make it onto the BBC2 news this morning. Our little sprinkling in Inverness has now melted with the sunshine, but I'm sure if John head out with his camera later today he might find a few real stags near the roadside, as there is a lot of snow up on the hills. Stay warm x

  17. Well after gazing at your scrap for an age I saw the stag. I must be improving cannot always see your ideas. Now I wish I could see some sunshine, I will get to Tunbridge on Sunday somehow or other. xx

  18. Hello Barb, what a great use for a piece of scrap. Love it, even though after 10 minutes of staring and squinting, I still cannot see a stag, but I blame the eyesight for that. Take care all. Bx

  19. I love how you turn scrap into art masterpieces Barb!
I’ve had great fun using stamps from my latest members sale shop as the 1st of 3 packages arrived in time to craft last night 🙂
I was inspired by the cards shown with the products – thank you very much for those. Will post after work xx

  20. HI BARBARA.. MANY OF YOU KNOW I HAVE SIGHT PROBLEMS HENCE THE CAPS.. SO WHEN BARBARA SAID ABOUT THE STAG I KNEW I HAD NO CHANCE.. BUT WHAT I DO SEE IS .. WAIT FOR IT.. THE COLA LORRY WE SEE AT XMAS .. DON'T LAUGH.. IT'S DRIVING TO TOWARDS THE LEFT.. XX
