Henna Friendship

Henna Friendship

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in
Thursday’s blog is always blue, right?
So here’s the one I did with lovely Tina the last time we worked together on the telly.
Using one of her wonderful Henna Stamps Set No. 2
on a piece of our new Designer parchment: the Rainbow River Collection.
The thing I LOVE about stamping on the designer parchment is you can apply all the parchy tricks we have mastered along the Groovi trail to your beautiful black lineart.
Stamp on the front of the parchment with black Archival,
and then work your parchy magic on the back!

You really don’t have to be an expert.
Get the Groovi Starter Kit, and you’re off and running!

You have the soft/hard mat and the tools to do your whitework.
If you can stretch to a couple of the basic grids as well, you can do that neat dot embossing too.
Anyway, here I have just stamped the Word Chain No.8 stamp Friendship into the middle of the Henna Frame.

I framed this piece with the scallop rectangle nested plate – a firm favourite among parchers. But the nested sqaure in the Starter Kit will do the job very nicely too.

So this is the sequence:
Stamp in the middle,
Build the Groovi frame,
Trim the parchment back leaving a largish border,
stamp some leafery into two opposing corners.

Once dry, do a little more whitework in the two opposing corners.
Done.

So simple.
But so easy.
Stampers, you need this parchment!
Parchers, you need these stamps!

Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. I loved this one,so simple in style but very effective. I also love how you can rub the colour out on the beautiful parchment. However, I decided today that my brain needs help after I spent five minutes trying to rub colour away with no result, only to realise that it was the paper not the parchment. There is no hope for me. xxx Maggie

  2. This is so effective and can be applied to so many different stamps. And you can change the feel of it by using a different colour of parchment! And there are so many lovely ones to choose from now!
    Have a lovely evening.
    Love and hugs! Xxx

  3. Beautiful work. I'm off to do some silver clay jewellery making this weekend and will be taking some Clarity stamps with me – don't know if it will work, but I'll give it a try x

  4. Lovely idea and art work. My list is in to Santa.
Sorry late with my comment re yesterday's blog. I can fully empathise with you, I find it difficult to have to bottle up my anger – afraid it comes out as a good rant at home. Last week a drink driver employed a very sharp barrister – he got her off on a technicality. I am still seething, Today – well my anger is bigger that a very large bat full of lethal bubbles. I think my mind is 99% made up to leave the MOJ. I cannot cope with lazy colleagues, lies and theft and that is just the staff.
Apologies for my rant and I will relieve my tension by doing some soothing groovi
Love to you and all the happy bloggers

  5. Hi Barb,
This is lovely and I enjoyed watching you do it on tv.
I'm not sure what happened to my comment yesterday – it must be floating around in the ether! I agreed with everything you said and that's one of the reasons I don't do FB. I am a very patient person generally and it takes a lot to get me angry but boy oh boy, once I am it's best to hide! I also thanked Team Clarity because I ordered the new plates whilst watching Rosie's first show and got an email about two hours later to say they had been despatched – how brilliant was that! Team Clarity rocks!!! Love and hugs, Alison xxxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope everyone is as well as possible. Another lovely day here today ( honestly it's better than it was all summer!) sending love and hugs to you all, Alison xxxx

  6. Love this effect, not actually tried it yet but is on my list. Just traced out the new Art Nouveau plates today to add to my folder, they're fab and I know they'll be used a lot by me! xxx

  7. This is beautiful work and I can see why it should appeal to both parchers and stampers, and obviously does as the parchment is gorgeous and the Henna stamps are such a pretty design, but I just can't let myself start something else so I am holding off at the moment as I would buy the starter kit and then want to get lots of Groovi plates and I don't have space or the funds. I no doubt will give in at some point but am remaining strong at present. The stamps are definitely on my wish list though…lol. x

  8. Hello Barbara

Fantastic. I no longer buy anything other than Clarity. If I live to be 120 there still won't be enough time to do all that I want to do. Everything Clarity does complements evetything else. Be it stamping, parching, stencilling or canvas!

On another subject, I haven't read anything from Brenda M recently. I hope she is all right. Love reading her posts.

    Love Roz.x

  9. Hi Barbara – I loved watching you do this on tv, and it does tempt me into trying stamping again – previous attempts have not been very successful. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – I hope that you have enjoyed some decent weather today, we have had horrid heavy drizzle, which changed into heavy rain! It didn't stop us from visiting some very good friends who live about an hour's drive away – and we really enjoyed our time spent with them. Neill decided to take me out for a meal, before coming home! Totally unexpected and lovely too, bless him. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

  10. Hi Barbara
What a great Clarity mix, showcasing your beautiful products. Great stamps that leave a clear image and stamp beautifully on parchment. Parchment in fabulous colours that you've designed and finally groovi, something that has taken the parchment world by storm. Success on a card I think, it really is beautiful, thank you.
    Love Diane G xxx

    1. Hello lovely blog friends, hope all is well. I've been busy making parchment gingerbread houses to sell at a craft fair, they look so good when they are made up. I haven't a clue how much to charge for them but will be taking my parchment things with me do some more if things are a bit slow as I think my friends will have them as part of their Christmas present this year. Sending hugs xxx
