Shenandoah Parchment – Autumn

Shenandoah Parchment – Autumn

Hi there.
Thanks for joining me.
I do hope you were able to join Tina and myself this afternoon too.
What a delightful collaborative new ii-Book!
I will blog what she and I did together later on this week.
But today, I am excited to look at the
Shenandoah Parchment and Paper Duet which we launched at 6pm.

Well, I am so glad and grateful you appreciated the products and the pricepoint! Thank you for shopping with us and investing in us once again. If you didn’t, we wouldn’t last long !!!
So here is a very simple autumnal take on Mel’s finches.
Also available in Groovi

The other designs showcased are the beautiful

Butterfly Rounds in stamps

and also in Groovi

Butterfly Rounds Groovi Plates

Stamp on the front of the parchment using Black Archival.
Flip to the back and erase some of the darker colours from the parchment with a pencil eraser.

Do a little embossing, working on a soft surface,
and using various embossing tools.
We have a great selection of Pergamano tools.
This set might be a good starting place:
Colour in from behind too, but on a hard surface.
I used everything in the cupboard!
Perga Colours, Perga Liners and Distress Markers.
NB. The white work will always override the colourwork.

Build the whitework up gradually, letting the parchment cool off and rest between session.

Add vibrance by adding colour on the front too.
Perga Colours work a treat for this because of the super fine nib.

Mount on white to bring out the colours in the parchment.
And stamping on the white background gives a lovely subtle effect.
Up a bit, down a bit…

The main point I was trying to convey on telly this evening was that parchment itself is a brilliant medium for stampers as well as parchers. That’s why we bundled the designer parchment together with its corresponding paper. It is such a malleable surface to work with, and it’s translucency is very, very effective. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re in for a real treat .
Back on at 8pm!
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  3. Hi Barb,
Loved the afternoon shows and the launch. Amazing offer on the 4 sets of papers and parchment, but couldn't run to that unfortunately, but did get the two new sets, the Groovi plates and Tina's book! Couldn't resist. Shows were brilliant and I'm just about to watch the 8 pm one. Had a little giggle as Paul's head appeared as he was trying to pass you the flower patterns! This piece of artwork is gorgeous as well. As usual DT's samples did you proud. Love and hugs, Alison xxx

  4. There were some great demos on your shows today – kept me going through my huge pile of ironing! Will have to watch the 8pm show on catch up though, as I only have Freeview TV. Hope your stock lasts through tomorrow too as it was selling fast x

  5. Well I'm glad I was back from holiday in time to watch your shows. Beautiful pads and new stamps. Have added the parchment pads to my wish list. Can't wait to see the new pads in the flesh and am excited to play with my new Tina stamps too. Have been reading the blog everyday but the Internet was a bit hit and miss so didn't comment. Xx

  6. Hi Barbara
I haven't had a chance to watch the shows yet, I've got them recorded to watch tomorrow but I have to say the stamps and groovi look so beautiful and the parchment and papers look beautiful too. You have spoilt us. Tina's new book looks great too with such wonderful designs. The stamped image on the parchment is wonderful, it's great how the colour pops even against the colourful parchment isn't it. Hope you get a good nights sleep and have a safe journey home tomorrow.
    Love Diane xxx

  7. Hi Barbara – I watched and loved all of the shows. Thanks for going back to the beginning with Tina, as that's really where I am. I loved seeing how to do the flowers like that and also the stippling too, and I look forward to giving that a try. Loved your top – it complimented the new papers SO very well. I think that you can now rest easy, as once again the sales have been amazing. Couldn't be more pleased for you – but not at all surprised. Looking forward to watching the shows tomorrow – seeing both yourself and Paul. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – I know that you will have enjoyed the shows and the new products. I am trying to decide which of the new designs to go for, as that's all that my budget will allow at the moment. If I'm totally honest I shouldn't be buying anything BUT I am sure that I will. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

  9. I LOVE THE NEW SHENADOAH PARCHMENT. BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BARBARA GRAY COULD YOU DO ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE PACKET OF 10 OR 12'S OF THEM . I BOUGHT THE NORTHERN NIGHT'S MANY MONTHS AGO PROBABLY WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT.. BUT ONLY BEING A SMALL GROOVI PARCHER I'VE ONLY USED ABOUT 5 PIECES FROM IT.. IT WILL TAKE ME YEARS TO USE IT ALL,
PLEASE THIBK OF THE LITTLE CRAFTERS TOO.
SORRY FOR THE CAPS I'VE A SIGHT PROB.

  10. Hello Barb, the shows were great, the papers are beautiful, and the combination of stamps and Groovi is so inspiring. Loved the demos, glad I set record to go back and watch some again. Looking forward to todays shows. Take care all. Bx

  11. I think the parchment is absolutely beautiful Barbara and will be adding it to my wishlist. The only trouble I have is that I have very little crafting space so don't tend to keep papers as I mostly make my own backgrounds, but I can see that the results using both paper and parchment are quite spectacular. x
