Peace on Earth. PLEASE !!!!

Peace on Earth. PLEASE !!!!

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in again.
In case you missed this demo on TV yesterday,
here’s a simple stamping step by step
Using a Black Archival ink pad, stamp the lovely
 onto the FRONT
of the designer parchment sheet of your choice.
Look for an opening where this stamp would sit beautifully….
Add Babbi and Dad.
Note I didn’t call the fawn Bambi. Too too sad.
Babbi will be fine.

Throw a tree in from the stampset.
and some Peace on Earth.
Let’s face it, if we don’t get a little Peace on Earth going here soon, we’ll have Bambi all over again,
and Thumper will be no help whatsoever.

The Peace on Earth stamps are fab.
I do love my Word Chains!
So stepping back, can you see the glade in the forest that I saw?

Once the ink has dried, flip the parchment to the back, and let’s add some higlights.
This is where the designer parchment comes into its own,
and stands completely wonderful.
First of all, let’s get rid of some of the colour with a pencil eraser.
In the trees perhaps…

Now we need a Lightwave,
a light source from underneath.
That’s the one thing: coloured parchment is difficult to see through.
Let’s add a frame using the Nested squares from the Starter Kit.

Lay the parchment piece on the soft side of the black mat in the Starter Kit. Using the No. 1 tool from the Groovi Starter Kit or the Pergamano No. 1 Embossing tool, start adding highlights to the top of the letters, to the top of the deer,

to the trees, to the tiny snowflakes in the black sky.
When you flip to the front, you will be impressed.
Well, I was! And I’m not that easily impressed nowadays.
Must be old age creeping in…

Next thing is to mat and layer.
This is where the matching Designer paper pad kicks in.
If you look at the pic below, you will see how the design rolls
from the parchment into the paper in the background.

So you trim the parchment back, and I do recommend you treat yourself to a new see-through Pergamano ruler and some Groovi Grip to stop the ruler slipping on parchment.

How to attach it?
Well, the other brilliant thing about the coloured designer parchment is that you can use the Crafters Glue runner on it to attach layers; you cannot see the glue.
Try it on a scrap to check. We did!
Works a treat.
Having a day off today.
Well, that’s a joke.
Let me rephrase.
Having a day working at home.
That’s real.
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. I have this set and love it and stamping on to the parchment is the icing on the cake Barbara, fabulous look with the embossed highlights too. I hope that working from home means you can at least take it a little easier. x

  2. Hi Barbara
Beautiful artwork today, I love how the parchments sits on the papers so beautifully. What a lovely way to combine stamping and groovi, a perfect marriage. I saw Bambi again the other day, I'd forgotten just how sad it is. Enjoy your day working from home.

    1. Hello dear blog friends, I hope all is well. It's a damp old day here and the children have been back at school today so the roads are very busy. Time to sit and do a little bit of crafting I think. Sending hugs xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – day 5 of our Clarity road trip and we arrived in Ledbury today to sunshine! Spent the last 2 night's in Tewksbury with a view of the Abbey – which was beautiful. I hope that the weather is being kind to you. Love and hugs Gilly xxx

    2. Hi Gilly,
Sounds like you're having a good time. Never been to Tewkesbury, but I do like Ledbury – especially the half timbered buildings. Hope the weather stays good for you. Love and hugs Alison xx

  3. Thank you for the demo Barbara, so good to be able to look back on how it is done. Almost caught up with rewind whilst doing the ironing, a bit stop and start.
My goodies arrived today but realise there is more I need to get when the bank balance allows. Hope your day has gone well xx

  4. Hi Barb,
Loved this demo on tv and certainly one that I'll try as I have the " ingredients". Really like how you've used both the Indian Summer paper and parchment. Hope you've enjoyed your day off! Love and hugs Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope today has been good for you. Did my swimming this morning in a lovely quiet pool ( at one point there was only Dave, me and 1 other person in it). We could tell the kids had gone back to school. Had a crafty afternoon, planning out some Christmas cards using my Gemini. Quite pleased at how they came out. Love and hugs to you all, Alison xx

  5. Great artwork Barbara! That parchment is a dream to work with whether it be to Groovi or stamp on!
    The papers work well too!
Hope you had a good day even if you were working from home.
    Love and hugs xxx

  6. My Indian Summer paper pad arrived yesterday, with the extra papers (beautiful) and stencil, and the Northern Lights parchment pad (beautiful), wee Christmas stamps and a Groovi Plate arrived today. Also had an email from Clarity towers to say my Snowflake Duet plates have been dispatched. A couple of Pergamano tools may have accidentally fell in the basket too. Now I just need more hours, anyone know where I can buy some??

  7. Hello Barb, another fab step by step. I loved the demo on the show, and the tips for highlighting and removing colour. My wish list is getting longer and longer. Hope you managed to get a few hours to relax. Take care all. Bx

  8. Lovely piece of artwork Barbara. I'll look forward to binging on the recorded shows when I get home. Having a little break away in Arran – what a fabulous place! Just having a rest before we walk to the pub for dinner – time to read my book I think x
