It’s R for Rhyme Time

It’s R for Rhyme Time

Hi there,
Thanks for popping in!
We are all getting revved up for the weekend now.
It’s been a busy one!
Remember yesterday, I was E for Excited about the up and coming Groovi One Day Special on HOCHANDA this Sunday/Monday?
Well, today I wanted to show off the little ii-book which we have had published to accompany the Groovi plates.
And a very useful little ii-book it is too!
Each verse is included, as a kind of key to the plates.
Most of you will be familiar with most (but not all)
of the little rhymes just by looking at the phonic letters,
the pictures. However, some of them I made up and wrote myself, because the original Mother Goose ones were a bit dark,
but more of that tomorrow….
You can see here how the Nursery Rhyme key
also doubles up as a colouring book.

Just in case you’re wondering,
Linda had a spare book to tear out the letters and turn into cards!
One for stroking and one for using!!!
And PS all you trad parchers:
couldn’t you use the line art of mine as a pattern?
So in addition to the ABC plates
and a folder to store them all in,
there’s a cool colouring book/pattern/nursery rhyme guide.
I had another little visitor today too:
Dorothy came over with her Mummy, Annie,
she who designs lovely stencils for us.
We made a beanbag nest in the corner of my office,
and then drew straws as to who could use it!

  1. Dotty look very comfy there I must say lol. I will be using the letters in the book as patterns for sure. There is so much potential in this super duper kit.

  2. I have my finger poised to press the order button. I truly NEED those letters on the plates for a couple of urgent projects. I love the idea of those colouring and inspiration books, a real bonus to add to the plates. I reckon they are all going to go like a bomb. I thought you were going to settle Dorothy down with colouring or even some Groovi. I am sure children would love the new books. Hope the excitement is still beating the nerves. xxx Maggie

  3. Hello Barbara

How time flies. I think the ladt time we saw Dotty she was littke more than a baby. Now she is a lovely little girl.

The alphabet plates look very interesting. Mmm? Will I be able to resist?

    Love

  4. Excited here too!!! I've loved making my samples using the little colouring book;
they're on their way to you now. The groovi is gorgeous, but I'm definitely an inky, painty girl (just messy??!!!!) and it's made me realise just how much I need these stamps. (Maybe groovi as well if I win the lottery!!!) Love to you all at Clarity towers xxx

  5. Hi Barbara, this is what I have been looking for something to pick up and put down as and when.
As I am away very soon my order will have to wait until I get back .
I just love the flower Groovi plates which you brought out the other month when Rosie was on I love them and as I have a 50th anniversary card to make the love plate is just the ticket.
Thank you for all the lovley things you bring us.
You will be brilliant, looking forward to all your shows.
    Lynn xx

  6. Hi Barbara, sounds like you had a good day, at least some of it anyway. My first thought was – how could they rip pages out a book! Knowing Linda had a spare book didn't help much either. But I guess if the books were made with that intention it's allowed!!!!! What a lovely book, even on it's own, without the plates. I believe you're not allowed to sing ba ba black sheep anymore! The world has gone crazy, what's wrong with that! Bet they've not banned ring a ring o roses which was about dying of the plague!

Good to see Dotty. How is she at school already? I remember you talking about her as a baby, and your blog has only been going 3 1/2 years? That beanbag den looks just perfect, can I have it when Dotty is finished, I'd feel nice and safe in there!!!

Hope you manage to keep excited until your shows
    Love Brenda xx

  8. Hi Barbara
Oh these plates are lovely and the book is gorgeous. I can see these flying out at the weekend. I am being good at the moment as IRS an expensive month but hopefully I will pick them up as I go along, hopefully if we do that we can buy the book separately. I think the book would be lovely just to keep and stroke!! Gosh hasn't Dotty grown up, such a little sweetie and she looks very cosy in the bean bag corner. Now we know where to find you if you go missing for a short while! Haha.
    Take care
    Love Diane xxx

  9. Please stop teasing! (Only joking!) The more I see from what's in store for the weekend the harder I'm trying not to like it…it's becoming very difficult lol! The 'ii' book is a real treat too, d'ya think my OH will treat me for our wedding anniversary on Saturday? Dotty looks really comfy on her beanbag, so glad she won the draw! Xxx
