A delicate backdrop

A delicate backdrop

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in!
Spent the day with Rosie today, hatching cool new plans,
and revving up for her TV shows on Thursday.
She’s showing off a set of lovely delicate Claritystamps;
the detail in these is astounding actually.
I really love to use them in backgrounds.
Let me show you what I mean….
Remember recently we launched a new collection of large outline stamps?
A stag, a toadstool, a bird, trees and a leaf
Well, they come with masks, don’t they.
Leaf shape required for this trick!
Lay the leaf mask down on Theuva Card.
If you haven’t heard of Theuva card,
it is superb card for stamping on and ink.
Ink up the round floral shape in Orange Blossom, blot on scrap and plant in the centre of the leaf shape, like so:

Repeat this all over the leaf aperture.
Avoid overlapping and don’t forget to ink blot plot!

Drag the ink on the mask into the opening using a make-up sponge.
Add a little more shade.

Add a little Mellow green Artistry ink along scrap paper for hills.

Remove the mask.
How easy was that?!

Enter the cat, Romeo…
I dabbed him in the Orange Blossom, and then in the Black Archival, to mix up the blend a little.

Same for the little bird.
Now where did I find these stamps?
Any ideas whch set they come from?
That’s right!

Add a little tree for good measure – a very little tree…

Now to add a little colour to the backdrop.
It looks like fabric.

There we are.
I shall stop there.
Just wanted to show you what I mean by delicate backdrop.
On Thursday, Rosie will show you other very cool ideas.

    Love and hugs xxx

  2. Great to watch Rosella, she is so clear in her explanations. Looking forward to seeing the new plates and how the stamps are used. Lovely artwork with the leaf outline. Xx

  3. How beautiful! I'm going to have to set my recorder for the two daytime shows, but will be watching the 5pm one. Excited . Com Go team Clarity!!!

  4. Hi Barb,
Love this! Really need the leaf mask etc! Got everything else so might try it with stencil and see how it comes out. Looking forward to Rosie's shows and to seeing the new plates. Really can't wait for my two new Tina's plates to arrive as I've got a couple of cards to make and they will be perfect. Love and hugs Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope today has been good for you. We've finally had some sun today! Managed to finish off my Serenity prayer card this morning and I'm chuffed with it ( just hope the recipient is!). Well I had my hospital appointment today- it's been decided that I need to have a different type of knee replacement, only problem is I need to lose a couple of stones! I'm not surprised by this and I will do it but what infuriated me was that the consultant went crackers when I told him I've been told by physics not to do any lower body exercises. He said I can do any exercise as long as my knee doesn't hurt when I'm doing it. So for the last 4 months I could've been exercising properly ( like I wanted to) and would probably have lost the 2 stones!! Well at least I've got something to work towards and all I have to do is ring the consultant once the weight has gone – yeah. I'll be a new woman at Leyburn ( hopefully) !!!
      Love and hugs Alison xxxx

    2. Hi Alison that's good news they can do a knee replacement but what a pain you were told not to exercise, something like swimming might be good as it's low impact. Just had a thought, if you buy lots of lovely Clarity stuff there will be no money left for food, instant diet job done !! 😂😂sending hugs xxx

    3. Alison, the advice about swimming is excellent but do NOT do breaststroke as it is a very bad movement for damaged knees. In a previous life, In was a qualified swimming teacher and coached competitive swimmers. xxx Maggie

    4. Hi Maggie,
Yes I know about breaststroke – I was a qualified swimming teacher too- which is a shame as it's the one stroke I like doing! Can't swim at the moment though because I can't use brace in water so until I can find a suitable one I'm stuck on land! I'm going to check with consultant which one I should try. Love and hugs Alison xx

  5. Too many lovely goodies to chose from. I have the Birdtable set, which I have put somewhere safe! Needed it not so long back to finish a card can I find it? No I can't. Not happy! Looking forward to the next shows. X

  6. What a brilliant idea, love it. Thank you for sharing Barbara. Here's me thinking Clarity fix over, and already we're getting more, yay. I look forward to the shows, but nae way will I be able to watch the 8am one! Maybe the odd wee glance is the best I can do!!!! But I'll be recording for later. Hope tomorrow is another good day, or even better, for you Barbara. Love Brenda xx

  8. Hi Barbara
Oh I like this, a lovely selection of your beautiful stamps. Love how the leaf looks so 3D. I've had a cat in the garden today who's been looking up like Romeo, he can hear the baby blue tits but hasn't spotted the box yet thank goodness! Looking forward to watching the shows on Thursday, Rosie will be with me in the kitchen as I bake, I hope she likes cake!
    Love Diane xxx

    1. Hello lovely blog friends hope all is well. It's been lovely in the sun here today, more gardening than craft though but well worth it when the garden looks good. Sending hugs xxx

    2. Hi Diane,
Yes, glorious day yesterday and today looks promising too. Dave did loads in garden yesterday and flower beds are now ready for my plants ( not for a few weeks yet as it's way too cold for them). Love and hugs Alison xxx

  9. I love the combination of the floral circle with the leaf mask, and the scene within plus the cute little cat is great. You always help us to think outside the box Barbara. I'm looking forward to seeing Rosella on Thursday. x

  10. Lovely stamps….but really am spent up now after ordering the nursery alpha groovi plates so MUST be a good girl for a while! Will still be watching/recording Rosie's shows tho! Xxx

  11. Hello Barb, what fabulous stamps, love the scene you have created, really beautiful. Will have to record Rosie's shows, something to look forward to. Take care all. Bx

  12. OO..oo..oo.. need to report a sighting of make up sponges like yours, in Tesco (other supermarkets are available) in a cute little container.
Just thought you might be interested.
Thank you for using this stamp – it's one of my favourite sets too!
    Love
    Maggie (Yorkite)
PS do you want me to get some and pop them on to you to try out?
