The solitary Tree

The solitary Tree

Hi there,
Thanks for joining me.
Started this a while ago, this lone tree throwing a reflection.
Decided it needed a backdrop….
Little moon mask,
little frame with masking tape,
torn hill…

Beautiful pink sunset this evening.
Letโ€™s roll it in from the horizon.
Rosy Cheeks Artistry ink + Brayer.
Now for the hills.
Pampas Artistry Ink pad + brayer

Finally a vignette using
Aged Stucco Artistry ink pad + Stencil brush.

Remove all the masks.
Simple.

Spritz the ink left on the blending mat with water
and blot a background paper.
Mmm…. which way to mount?

Yep. This way.

Edge and mount.
Done.
Less is more.

Clocks spring forward tonight.
And donโ€™t forget to tune in to Rosie on HOCHANDA tomorrow.
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  3. Hi Barbara, very serene, and reflective, love it, but it does make me feel sad for some reason. Thank you for sharing.

I bet you'll find lots of pieces, and 'scrap', to make into blog demos, when you've sorted out your art room.

Been a beautiful day here too, but I think it must still be cold outside. Looking forward to an hour's extra daylight tomorrow, despite the havoc the clock change has on my body and head for the next week or two!

Hope you're not too sad that your kids won't be with you tomorrow. Hope you can have quality Facetime with both of them. Not the same I know, but better than the old days when the best you could have got was a phone call.

    I'll be watching/recording Rosie's shows tomorrow.
    Love Brenda xx

  4. Hi Barbara! I love this! I often think that less is more – but then sometimes I get carried away like today, hey ho – never mind! Looking forward to watching the shows tomorrow – hugs Gilly xx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – I hope that you have all been enjoying the sunshine today! It was 17 degrees here – wonderful! I have just caught up on yesterday's blog – I expect that I am too late now to claim anything out of Barbara's skip! Love and hugs to you all, Gilly xxx

  5. I really like the lone tree and its shadow, lovely sunset too. Have you started your sorting out yet. I haven't, it was too nice today to be stuck in the house, so went for a little walk and sat on a bench in the sun people watching. Then in for a coffee and cake, bang goes the diet. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow.xx

    1. Hi Pam! Yes we had some beautiful weather today, but I was doing some Groovi – using some of my first order this week! Still got another order to follow! Love and hugs xxx

  6. Hi bloggy friends hope you've all had the sunshine too. If not hope you do tomorrow. Are you hoping to get to Ally Pally Diane, if we go it'll be on the Saturday. Don't forget the cushions tomorrow everyone unless you spent out on Thursday. I'm saving mine in case I get to the show. Love and hugs to you all.xx

    1. Hi Pam,
Been a beautiful day here. Daren't spend any money tomorrow! Have had a quick look at the plates and I do like them but I'll have to be good! Love and hugs Alison xx

    2. Hi Pam me again! I don't think we will get to Ally Pallyin April, Emma will be home for Easter so I expect we might have a family day out and I'm not sure Ally Pally would be high on the list!! I'm trying to be good and not spend too much at the moment too, oh it's hard sitting on your hands when there are so many lovely things calling to you. Take care xxx

  7. Stunning card. Sitting trying to keep my eyes open after a lovely first day of the Clarity Scotland retreat with the lovely Jo doing mixed media, covering a journal book and decorating a pen pot. Tomorrow is a Groovi day for me with Emma so I am looking forward to lots of giggling while grooving!

  8. Hi Barb,
Love this! The colours you've chosen are lovely. My mop up pieces never look like yours though! Have got this stamp and the inks so might give this a try. Hope you've had a good day. Love and hugs Alison xx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope you've had a lovely day and that the weather has been good. It's been beautiful here today, can't believe we had a blizzard earlier in the week! Looking forward to Rosella's show tomorrow but will have to be good! Sending love and hugs to you all, Alison xxxx

  9. Hi Barbara
This is beautiful and traditional Barbara with inks Brayer stamp and masks. You make it look so easy. I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow with your mum, are you cooking lunch? I'm sure Grace is organised with flowers and you will have FaceTime calls from them both. Take care.
    Love Diane xxx

  10. Stunning ! Love the mopping up bit too. Will have to record the shows tomorrow, Mum coming for lunch. Will have to be good after several orders this week – my first of the year so I made up for it ! Xx

  11. Another lovely bright day here too Barbara and the pink sunset works beautifully with that lone tree, and love the tree shadow, and the mop up piece from the blending mat complements this scene perfectly. x

  12. Morning, is it 7.30…or 8.30? Sunny day by the look of it! Love the lone tree card, would look great with the word chains so might have to have a play. Happy mothers day to all the wonderful mums out there, and a special one to my mum, love you lots. Xx

  13. Morning bloggy friends, happy crafty Clarity Sunday. Went to see 'Beauty and the Beast' last night, it is so good. One of my favourite Disney animated films so it had a lot to live up to. Tried to convince my sister it was a sing along version…she didn't believe me, and she wouldn't let me sing in the cinema! Xx

  14. Beautiful! I love the way you carried the hills across from the background through the picture and across the other side. Great eye for detail. I love the way that you reversed the background with the picture also! Blessings!
