Competition Winners…

Hiya!
Thanks for popping.
Yep, late again. We just this minute finished the Groovi prep
for the HOCHANDA TV shows.
Stamps and stencils on Sunday at 2pm and 5pm

Groovi One Day Special, launching on Sunday at 8pm,
then carrying on on Monday: 9am 12noon, 4pm and 7pm.

Believe it or not,
I am launching the Christmas Season on the channel!
Have I got anything to tease you with….

Black Parchment. Love it.

I know.
We haven’t even had the summer yet!!
Mind you, if you were thinking of making and giving
Groovi Parchment Christmas Cards this year,
you’d best get cracking soonest !!!
I can only imagine how long the traditional parching method used to take! There are still those who dismiss Groovi as cheating.
Whatever.
Too tired to argue.
I seem to spend more time picking a background colour card
than I do on the front piece!!

It’s no good.

I’m going to have to change this.
I think we are just going to have to design a bumper
paper pad of every-ones’s-a-winner Groovi backgrounds!
Seriously, I have got enough designer papers to decorate the Albert Hall! But have I ever got the right one?
And yes. I KNOW I could make one!
I could bake a rhubarb crumble too,
N O   T I M E   L E F T.

Teamwork makes the dream work!
Paul and I made a plan and then stuck to it – more or less!
Really chuffed with the demos now.
I think you will enjoy them – stamps and Groovi.

Hope you can join us!
But now I think it is time to announce
the winners of the Limerick and Caption prizes.
Oh boy, did we laugh!

Helen.
You had me in fits with your caption
for this photo from Glastonbury:

Has anyone seen the dog?

And as for the limericks, well!
There were some corkers,
but the one that caught me off guard and cracked me up was

       Allison Marsh’s:

There was a young hippy called Flo

Who to Glastonbury did go

In the mud she did slip

It turned into a flip

And the hippy became a hippo!
So.
2 gift vouchers to be sent out Monday.
Well dome to everybody who had a go –
got to be in it to win it, eh!!
Time for bed, said Zebedee xxx

Love & hugs

Barb.

Ah yes!
PS
I have some brilliant news!
Gracie is coming home for a couple of weeks.
Actually, she’s coming home for a Beyoncé Concert in Manchester,
(Best friend lizzie got her a ticket for Christmas)

But she’ll be home by next weekend for sure.
That’ll be nice.
Saw the kids in California recently,
and now Grace is back in England again.
I could get used to these monthly visits,
if only the bank manager agreed!

This was when we were at the Bernie Sanders Rally in Monterey,Ca.
We could really use a Bernie Sanders in this country.
What a visionary.

  4. The sneaky peeks look intriguing Barbara. We are going to be ready for your shows on Sunday, with a cuppa, some cake and a few things may accidentally fall in to our shopping basket! I hope you have a great day. Groovi is not cheating! It is a step up for those who find the line art part of the craft difficult, those who say it is cheating need to grow up!

  10. Great for uou to have Grace around for a couple of weeks Barbara, make the most of it and I will miss your Sunday programmes and love the little tantilising peeps and hope it all goes well. Congratulations to Helen and Allison too. x

  11. What good news about Grace's trip. I know you will make the most of every minute. I was going to bed early tonight to try to shake off the last bits of this fluey thing I've had all week, then I realised that the BBC were showing edited sections from the Vigil and today's (Friday) services from France in remembrance of the terrible loss of life at the Battle of the Somme. To watch that puts our present problems, personal and national into perspective. I don't think I had ever appreciated that there were over 75,000 men who have no known grave. That is very sobering. Sorry if this appears to be a gloomy post, but I do feel that all of us have a duty to look for the good in our lives, and live as positively as possible. We owe it to all those who lost their lives in our defence, no matter what the politics. On a much brighter note, looking forward to seeing all the new goodies you are paying in front of us this weekend. Have a safe journey and great shows. xxx Maggie

    1. I agree, too. There are so many people who gave their lives for us and of course those that still risk theirs that we owe it to them to make the best of ours xx

  12. Morning Barbara, I'm loving these 'sneak peeks' and I'm drooling !!!!

    Enjoy your daughter's visit

Great caption and limerick from the winners, well done

    Enjoy your weekend!

    June x

  14. So glad Grace will be with you again soon. Congrats to the winners – hilarious. I am so glad it's not just me, it takes me hours if not days to find the right backing paper for my Groovi projects, it's by far the hardest part!
I don't do football but well done Wales, you made all of us in the UK so proud last night & boy do we need something to celebrate at the moment. Keep up the great work! Have a happy weekend all xx

  15. Morning bloggy friends. Hope you have all got your cushions, suits, springs and trampolines ready for the shows tomorrow and Monday. I have mine ready to go! Xx

  16. Hi Barb,
Sorry I'm so late but I'd gone to bed before you posted last night. The stamps look fabulous and as for the Groovi plates – well they will definitely be in my basket( from Clarity of course). Really like the look of the Christmas coloured parchment too. Gosh, you must be shattered this morning working so late. Good that you and Paul made a plan and mainly stuck to it though. Looking forward to the shows. The backing papers sounds like a good idea too. Brilliant news that Grace is coming home for a couple of weeks, I'm so happy for you. Hope you can have a restful day today. Love and hugs to you, Alison xx
Ps congratulations to Helen and Allison xx

    1. Morning to all my blog friends,
Hope you all have a good day today and hopefully pain free. Really looking forward to Barb's shows tomorrow and Monday and will definitely need the cushions. Looking a bit overcast here at the moment – can't believe this is supposed to be summer! Love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

    2. Morning Alison. Looks like we are in for more of the same weather today but it may improve next week. We didn't go to Kiplin Hall for the outdoor theatre after all. Dad has rallied again but still frail and we didn't want to spoil it for others if we needed to leave. (We weren't too ken on sitting out in the rain either). xx

    3. Hello Alison. That's good news from Chris, if we're to get some good weather this week. Hope you have a good weekend. Love and Hugs xxx

  17. Good morning Barbara. How lovely to be seeing Grace again.
I am another one who finds backing papers hard to choose, the colours or patterns never seem to be right. I often want something that stands out enough yet is subtle at the same time, contrasts yet complements which is probably impossible to achieve xx

    1. Hi Chris,
Sorry you didn't get to Kiplin Hall, but considering the weather, probably a good choice. Take care, love and hugs to you ( & your Dad) Alison xxx

  18. Hi Barb, love the sneak peeks. Looking forward to the shows. Great that Grace is coming for a visit. Congrats to the caption and limerick winners. A good laugh. Take care all. Bx

  19. Hello Barbara, I'm another who spends ages getting the right backing for my pieces. It always amazes me how different they look each time. I'm really looking forward to watching your shows tomorrow and Monday. Skint at the moment, but I fully intend to have a GOOD spend at Leyburn. So pleased for you that you you're going to see Grace so soon. You must be so excited. Have a great weekend, and enjoy standing in front of the camera knowing that you are making so many of us very happy. Hugs xxx

  20. Hello my dear blog friends. Congratulations to Helen and Allison. Things are a little easier here, very much thanks to Brenda and her great advice. With Liam, we have been putting together a photo album of Ruby, and yesterday we planted a rose for her in a spot in the garden which he chose. As he said he needed to make sure we wouldn't forget her. I've also told him that Ruby will be so sad knowing how unhappy he is, and also that she would be sad if he didn't have another pet to love. He said he would think about it if it could be a boy. So we found a litter of Yorkies, as we've always had them, but couldn't be more different to Ruby, who was a rescue dog of mixed breed. Predominantly Lurcher and Border Collie! The puppy won't be ready to leave for another 4 weeks, so plenty of time to prepare. Liam wouldn't go with us to see them, but he did ask to see a photo last night!!!
We lost our little 16 year old yorkie a while back, so it took me all of five minutes to persuade hubby to have one of his sisters. So our home will be complete once again.
    Sorry for waffling!!!
I hope you all have a great weekend. Love and Hugs to you all xxx

    1. Dear morag when I read Brenda's help for Liam it brought tears to my eyes so thoughtful of her and lovley to read how much it has helped you and Liam something so simple can be so much help to your dear grandson lots of hugs for you all xxx

    2. Hi Morag,
I felt exactly the same as Sheila when I read Brenda's advice. I am so pleased that it has helped you all, but especially Liam. I'm sue he will love his new pet (& also your addition to the family) which is natural, but he will never forget Ruby. I know I look back very fondly at all the cats ( & 1 very special dog) I've had over the last 61 years. I can remember all of their names still. You take care my friend and we really must make at date for our coffee and cake. Love and hugs, Alison xxx

    3. Brenda's advice made me tear up too, so I'm really happy to know that it's helped your grandson so much and that you have new puppies on their way into your family. x

  21. Well done Allison that was a great Limerick and Helen for the caption!

Great news about Grace, lovely that you're seeing her more than once ! I'm going to have to record Sunday as now have mum and nephew coming to lunch. Loving the look of the cat stamps – still haven t been tomHochanda for a peek that's my next stop after catching up here!

    Have a great show! X

  22. That photo caption made me laugh! All that fretting about being ready for Sunday and there you go pulled out of the bag again. Looking forward to Sunday. I hope the weather picks up for Grace or she will think she has got the wrong month. Much love Jayne

  23. P.s. I meant to say I think I spend more tine looking for the right background for anything and then, with parchment, wondering which way to attach it !

  24. Fabulous limericks sure made me laugh. Looking forward to watching you tomorrow and seeing what goodies you have for us. I might even get my Groovi out and craft along 😉
    Hugs
    Linda xxx

  25. Hi Barbara & ladies well you sure know how to keep us Groovi kids happy. Yes I would love a paper pad so I could choose one that fits my Groovi designs. I also seem to take quite a while to choose a background paper to fit. Looving the peak at the night before Christmas plates. Just got to work out which things I need to get next. It has taking me a while to get to grips with some things but I am really pleased with the ones I have done, getting better all the time. Hi ladies well could do with a little sunshine but just have to be happy with what we get. Hope you all are a little better today. Hugs Lynn xx🎄
