A simple Canvas using Yesterday’s Leftovers…

Hiya!
Sorry I’m so late!
After a really lovely first day of Retreat No. 4,
Jim, Paul, Dave and myself had a design meeting this evening.

Made a plan of where we’re headed for the next couple of months and allocated fresh ideas and artwork.
Compiled the next few TV shows
and figured out what to showcase, what to put into production etc.
We’ve got some really neat new things in the pipeline now!
What a fab team we do have.

But it got late, so I thought I would refer back to
yesterday’s blog and continue from there –
it being Monday’s Blog is Flowers and Trees…

Remember the stencil prints we did?

I thought I would run with the Copy Paper one this evening.
What to do with a copy paper scrap….
Here is it…
Let’s wrap it around a 6″ x 6″ Canvas board.
I bet it looks great.
We have a great selection of Canvas Boards.

Trim it back and cut the corners off.
You can see the blotted colour through the copy paper,
so it’s easy to gauge how much to trim back.

Using a paint brush, paint Mod Podge Sealant directly onto the front of the canvas board.
Lower the canvas down onto the back of the artwork,
flip it over and rub the front.
You can use a brayer to flatten it completely, too.

Flip it over again, and add Mod Podge to the flaps
before you fold them over.
Really easy and very effective with copy paper.

Look how smart this looks!
See how all the wrinkles disappeared?
When the Mod Podge dried, they disappeared.

Let’s mount it on the next size up canvas board,
using a double-sided Clarity Adhesive sheet.

How easy was that?!
If I saw that in a little gallery, I’d buy it.
I really would.

I think the Gallery ambience would definitely help….

#onethingatatime.
and now it’s
bedtime!
Love and Peace,
Barb

  1. Evening Barbara, that looks beautiful, my scraps never look as good as that. If you put that in a gallery it could sell for silly money.
Sleep well and have a good day tomorrow xx

    1. Evening all. Can't believe I'm first and just missed Barbara. We have the grandchildren here for a few days with our daughter and our son. When you cook for 2 or 3 most days it's a shock to cook for 7!
We were out for tea yesterday and were late home so I did't get to comment and we are off to Lightwater Valley theme park tomorrow. We shall be doing the watching while the big and small kids do the riding but we'll still be whacked out.
I hope you have all had a good day and that you have a good night xx

  2. Beautiful canvas, Barbara. The simplest designs seem to take on a magical quality when mounted on canvas this way. I need some more. See you Wednesday.

  5. Just got back from the cinema, went to watch The BFG. Such a great film, took me right back to reading the book when I was young. Brilliant feel good film. Great use of your paper print. Xx

  6. Great way to use a piece of waste! Looks fabulous and definitely gallery standard. Looking forward to seeing what's down that creative pipeline of yours.
I'm having a wonderful time visiting my family in Kent before heading down to Crowborough at the end of the week. Had a lovely day with my Granddaughter today. Haven't seen her since June so was lovely to continue building those Nanny bonds! Sleep well and sweet dreams, Jeanette xxxx

  7. I love this, it looks fabulous, like hours of work went into it. I think I'll try this one myself.
I get all excited thinking about new stuff in the coming months, hehe!

  8. Hi Barbara
Sounds like it's been a good day and you are back firing on all cylinders again. I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming up in the next few months. When I started to read you were working on yesterday's copy I thought to myself it would make a lovely canvass and blow me it did. Really love this, yes definately posh art shop costa fortune type art – don't forget to sign it! Sleep well.
    Love Diane xxx

    1. Hello all my lovely blog friends, hope everyone is ok today, looks like the weather might cool down again for a bit, although the weather man seems to like his arrows! Emma decided to do some scrap booking today – mum you've got those Barbara block stamps haven't you was the question. She meant the letterbox kit! It's nice to see her crafting – my job was to find everything she needed! Sending hugs all round xxxx

  9. That looks fab! I will have to do this sort of thing. I also just love that your crafting area looks just like mine. I get carried away with the creativity grabbing and discarding as I go along until when I am finished it looks just like that. I used to sit opposite a girl at work who couldn't stand disorder. All her papers had to be aligned with the straight edges of the desk and nothing could overlap. Then there was my desk where I would like to say I kind of worked in layers of the different cases I was dealing with that day. Occasionally when she wasn't looking I would put her papers at different angles and she would come back in and straighten them all again. Doesn't do for us all to be the same and we both got the job done in our own way. Much love Jayne

  17. Thanks for the reminder on how to use up our copy papers, great idea. Fantastic. Love it

Sorry not to be around last couple of days. Mum is in hospital having had a bad fall. Just spoken to her. She is up set as she thought she would be out to play bridge this afternoon !!! But she needs an MRI scan first.

My sister has thrown her rattle out the pram again and not talking to Mum or me…. and I know I am powerless but goodness knows what she will be like if she does not come to her senses before it is too late.

Well best get on – thank goodness for my crafting and my blog, and of course my bloging friends.

    x
