Saturday Window Sale!

Saturday Window Sale!

Hello there!
Saturday’s blog a new technique?
To who? To me? To you?
Looking out of the window today, it’s a grey day.
So let’s get out the Clarity Window Stamp
and let our imagination create a lovely scene!
Three cool colours:
Cut a piece of A5 Theuva Card in half.

Add a little moon.
Dust some light blue into the sky using a stencil brush.

Darken the sky with Eggplant.

Tear a piece of copy paper and dust in some Pesto Hills

Uncover the moon, keep going with more hills
and trim to a square.

Now stamp the window in Sepia on water-colour paper.
Tear it out.

Now with a blade, cut out the window.

Cut a blue frame to sit underneath the window.

Add some snow with a white fine pen

Using Black Archival,
add Santa from the Christmas Miniatures set.

Add a row of fir trees, also from the mini set, along the base.
Use the blue frame as a mask.

Use a score tool to open the windows.

Now all we need is a beautiful script stamp.
This

Merry Christmas is my fave.

So attach all the layers and mount on the same dark blue.
Perfect.
This little Christmas miniature set.
What else is in it ? I hear you ask.
9 little remountable stamps to create your window scenes,
or for any number of Christmas projects – from card to gift-tags.
Can we have a little Saturday Sale?
Why not.
If you buy the window, we will send you the mini Christmas set FREE.
For this special offer,
Have a great weekend!
much love,

  1. Hi Barbara what a beautiful creation today and a clever use of the window stamp over that gorgeous background. I do like my miniature Christmas stamp they get used a lot and the font on the Christmas greeting is beautiful, had to chuckle at the thought of pesto hills, wonderful smell but would play havoc with your shoes! Thank you for sharing, hope you have a great day Barbara. Love Diane xxx

  2. Good morning Barbara,
I have this set but not used it with that teared paper. I like this shabby chic-style very much.
    Have a nice weekend

  3. Hi Barbara
Just love this set, and I've usually see you set the scene through the window. This is a good way to make sure that you don't waste your card. You've only wasted the card not the window if you go wrong.

  4. Suddenly feel all christmasy. What a gorgeous card and a good offer too. I love my christmas minatures- probably my most used set of stamps due to the little tree and my poor santa gets worked so hard at christmas. Enjoy your Saturday xx

  5. Another great creation, and I'm glad you're not just showing us hundreds of Christmas cards. The odd one or two helps to get me in the mood rather than bewildering me with all the choices!!! I used the miniature set last Christmas on my cards in a monochrome design, and they were just fab (if I say so myself!) Hope the grey skies pass and you have a good weekend, Susan x

  6. Wow! Just beautiful! Makes me want to have a go!!!

And what a brilliant offer! Those miniatures are so useful it's well worth getting the window if you haven't already got it and these little stamps!
    Love and hugs! X

  7. Hallo liebe Barbara,

das sieht fantastisch aus. Ich bewundere deine Arbeiten immer wieder so sehr. Der Blick aus dem Fenster ich einfach genial. Ich wünsche dir ein wunderschönes Wochenende. Ganz liebe Grüße Silvi

  8. This is beautiful Barbara, and the night time scene works really well as seen through the window. I love the Santa and reindeer, and together with the other miniatures is a great deal as a freebie with the window frame. Thank you. x

  9. Beatiful, makes me feel a bit Christmassy. Still not started on Christmas cards. Must start soon.

I have a question about stencil brushes. I got mine at alley pally but am still looking at them and have not used them yet. I'm not sure which colours to use them with, whether or not just to dive in or whether i should use them for groups of colours. Any tips would be much appreciated.

    1. Hi Pam. Dive in and have a play. That's what I did. You can get some wonderful effects using what seem to be the most unlikely colours. One thing I would say is write on what colours you have used for future reference if you get a combination you really like. Guess who didn't?! Have fun.

  10. Very pretty, christmassy scene. I do like the window – one can escape through it.

  11. Hi Barb,
As usual a great card, and a very generous offer.
I've got to tell you that I went to the "Big Draw" at my granddaughters' school on Wed where the school children, parents and grandparents could draw something in various mediums. I couldn't get in to draw something for all the children who were doing their "bit" – then I spotted a gap – rushed over but no clean space on my side of the large roll of paper – oh dear. Hallelujah, had an idea, drew a tree on the opposite side, upside down, a'la your tree in the video, and added apples to it as the theme was "Our World". The children were most impressed that I could draw an upside down tree, so thank you for the inspiration.
You see, you never know where your tutorials will take your students!! xx

  12. Hi Barb,
Love this. The small stamps are fabulous and mine have been well used as has the window. I think I will be having a go at this one. Great to see that you are now selling the blue stencil paper – I ordered a couple of packs as soon as I saw it on the website. Thank you for that. Love to all, Alison xxx

  13. Hi Barbara, I've just had a lovely time at the SECC today. Jo did a great job, and Heather was telling me what a busy week your team have had. Dave was his usual charming self.
I'm just away to play with my goodies now. Thanks for your inspiring blog

  14. A beautiful card using the window stamp that has been on my wishlist for a while, thanks to your great offer I've been able to cross it off!!! Can't wait to play with it myself! Many thanks,x

  15. Hi Barbara,
What a beautiful card and I've got the stash to make it 🙂
So I'll be having a play tomorrow to see if I can do it anywhere near yours.
I had a great day with Saz and the girls from the Clarity East Midlands group, we did some beautiful projects with the sketchy shoe and lady, I still have to finish off the matting and layering, but I'm so happy with what I've done.
    Jackie, x

  16. Beautiful scene, so atmospheric. When I have finished my next batch of 50 cards, I might have a go with this set. I could do with some play time and it would be good practice with my blade. xxx Maggie
PS I hope your neck is improving with the rest, if you are allowing yourself the time?
