Yorkshire? Or Tuscany?

Yorkshire? Or Tuscany?

Had a thoroughly enjoyable day here in North Yorkshire.
A drive to Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle certainly opened my bleary eyes! What views! And what a fantastic art collection!
So here’s a panoramic sunset you might enjoy, using just
A few Adirondack ink pads: Black, Bottle, Butterscotch, Terra Cotta, Caramel,
Make-up sponges and a Speedball brayer
Mask off an area with the low tack masking tape.
Tear a hill out of copy paper using a ruler.
Starting at the bottom, sponge hills into place, using a range of colours.
Keep going, all the way up, a hill at a time. Just keep moving the torn paper up the way.
Add a post-it moon.
Load your Brayer with Butterscotch and load the sky.
Ink up the Poplar trees with a black Archival and plant them in rows, smallest to the back.
Using the smallest tree, let’s add shadows.
Ink up in black Archival, blot twice for the back trees furthest away, and once for the trees which are closer. Place at the base of each tree, at an angle away from the sun.
Remove the masking tape
Trim the cardl eaving a white border.
Mount on green and white card.
Using the torn paper, continue the hills onto the white surround, but avoiding the white frame.
Continue adding background hills all the way up. Makes a great matching background paper.
Easy to make, and not much tackle required.
Which is a good thing, don’t you think?
