Here’s a super simple Christmas offering: nothing elaborate or expensive. Just a great snowflake and sentiments stencil set. These are absolutely brilliant for inky arty printing and gel plate work.

As I write this, we are in the south of Spain, having spent the day in Sevilla. One word best describes today: SCORCHIO!!!! Yes, the Plaza de Espana was amazing. Yes, the Cathedral is awe inspiring. Yes, the Alcazar was so beautiful, it stopped me in my tracks. But Dios Mio!!! It was SCORCHIO!!! 35 and not a tree to sit under! Makes you wonder whether we will see snow again in England – the south east that is.

Down south, I recall December 2010. It was the winter we moved into our old house. We just got the last of the boxes hauled in as the snow started falling. Managed to hoist the piano in just before it properly came down. And it fell for a week. Snowed in we were. It was wonderful.

Maybe, if the snow eludes us again, we’ll just pretend we’re snowed in. Like the time when the kids were small and we had a power cut. We’d lit all the candles, made a log fire, were all set to read a book about pirates – and all the electric lights came back on. The kids were so disappointed – we switched them all back off and extended the power cut. It was grand. Sometimes you just gotta do the right thing…
