There are loads of different Character Collections in our Pocket Poppets range, but since we’re well and truly on the run-up to Christmas now, I thought we’d stick with these two lovely packs today:

Aren’t they fabulous?! There’s something about these quirky little characters that always makes me smile. They’ve each got their own personality, and they’re just perfect for those fun, whimsical Christmas cards.

Each pack gives you six different character designs, and here’s the clever bit: you get each character in full colour AND as a line-art version for you to colour yourself.

So, if time is short — and let’s face it, as Christmas gets closer, it usually is! — the coloured versions are ready to go. Cut them out, mount them up and you’ve got a lovely focal point in minutes.

Or, when you fancy settling down for a bit of colouring, you can take the line-art versions and make them completely your own.

More Christmas mischief!

Again, you’ve got six different characters in both colour and line art, printed onto lovely quality card and neatly spaced so they’re easy to trim out and use.

I rather like the idea of making a little batch of these. Pick a character, do a bit of colouring, add a simple border and a Christmas greeting — job done. And because there are several different characters, you can make multiples without every card looking the same.

Here are a few more ideas to get you going.

What I love about these samples is that they show just how versatile the Poppets are. Keep things clean and simple, go to town with the colouring, build them into a more elaborate Groovi project — there really are no rules.

And because the artwork is already there waiting for you, they’re also brilliant for those times when you fancy making something but don’t particularly fancy starting completely from scratch.

Small characters, lots of possibilities!

Great for colouring, foiling, cutting out, layering and mini-makes — and rather handy for getting a few more Christmas cards made without spending three days on each one!

Sometimes we want the full-on arty experience, and sometimes we just want to sit down, enjoy ourselves and make a lovely card. These little Poppets are perfect for that.
