11th November – Lest we forget
Hi there.
Today is the 11th November. So let’s just pause for a moment, and remember. Lest we forget…
Louise will ask for 2 minutes silence at 11am, after our Groovi Tuesday session, as a mark of sincere respect.
Remembrance Day is not about glorifying war, but about gratitude, respect, and a shared promise to strive for a more peaceful world.
As the country falls still, we will stand together in reflection, thankful for the freedoms we hold because of those who came before us.

Hi Barb, thank you for sharing. We have had a Remembrance display in our front garden for over a week, and I made some postcards (with the Clarity Poppy stamps) to give to people leaving donations. It is something we do every year to try express our gratitude for those that gave their lives for us. Bx
thank you Barbara a sad day for me as it is 46yrs today since we lost Dad who was a Dunkirk and then one of The Burma (forgotten army) soldiers still miss him every day.

In September I took mum to see her uncles grave. He died fighting in Italy and we went to the cemetery there which was the epitome of peace and beauty. A moment of my life to remember and treasure xx
My Dad was at Dunkirk as one of the sailors picking up soldiers from the beaches.
I will always remember.
I always give thanks for people like our ‘Auntie Barbara & Mrs O’, who took my mum & aunt in as evacuees. We are still in touch with her children & met up with them in the summer. I can’t imagine what it was like for my mum to get on a train at Paddington & leave her parents behind & get off in Cornwall, wait to be picked by strangers to go & live in their house, especially as I have grandchildren the age she would have been at the time.
Thank you Barbara, what a beautiful mark of remembrance, just perfect. My Dad was a Prisoner of War and worked on the Railway of Death as it was not so affectionately known and spent time in Changi Prison Singapore. It was something he would never talk about. He was the kindest, best Dad anyone could ever wish for sadly we lost him in 2003, not a day goes by that I don’t think of him…. Lest we forget xXx
For me one of the most moving things to watch was the final ever Black Adder scene, in slow motion, as they finally went over ‘the top’. It reduces me to a sobbing wreck every time……no we should never forget.
I always remember my dad and his fellow sailors. He was on the convoy ships getting supplies from S American countries. They came under attack many times.
