60 days to Christmas – Jayne’s Winter Scenes

Just a quickie, to shine a light on some wonderful stamps, which never get old:

Maybe you remember Jayne Nestorenko. She was a smashing woman, very gently spoken, wicked sense of humour. Good friend. Both Paul and I loved her dearly. She was a classy lady. She was also a talented artist.
I like looking at her work; it reminds me of her.
She called me one day, and asked me whether I’d be interested in buying some of her illustrations. She was very ill, and was fretting. Trying to tie up loose ends, I guess. Of course, I said absolutely, and YES! “But you need to pick what you want” she said, “so do come and see me”. As if I was going to reject a single thing! Paul and I went up to visit her, spent a few magical hours with her, made a deal which suited her well, and then got to work.
We developed a beautiful collection of floral stamps with her art, and I launched it on TV. We shouted about Jane Nestorenko, we promoted her art, we involved her, we sang about her as loudly as we could! We even got her on the phone during a LIVE Sunday TV show. It felt so good to be able to bring her back to the top, where she belonged. She’d been ill for a while and had not been active. You know how it goes. When she died, in January 2017, she was right back at the top of her arty game. Hallelujah.
We also wanted to show her how amazing her artwork was in Groovi and parchment too. When Paul and I went up to see her again, to show her the wonderful samples from the DT, she was blown away. it really was special.
So yes. This Winter Collection is very dear to my heart. Jane LOVED Christmas!! She loved what we did with her designs too…
AND we gained an hour today! I shall use it wisely…

I have this set of stamps and love it every Christmas and through the winter. It is hard to believe she has been gone almost 9 years. Beautiful artist.
I have most of Jaynes designs you did in both stamps and Groovi, but missing a couple of Christmas designs, so as I think I will be adding them into my order. Her art is lovely. I remember the phone call to the TV studio, and it was lovely to hear her. xxx
How can it be over 8 years since Jayne passed away, I loved watching her on the TV creating her art pieces & have quite a few of the ones you have made from her artwork. The A4sq Groovi plates with her frame work are constantly in use & the other artwork is timeless & fits lots of occasions.
Having just caught up with Fridays 10am show it sounds as though there are going to be quite a few new treats for us this week – a very busy one at that. I used to work with Hayley many moons ago so will be watching you on Wednesday, maybe on catchup as I have promised to take mom shopping for cards – she likes to to choose her own especially when it comes to the family ones x
I have a number of Groovi plates featuring Jane’s timeless artwork. You really did do her proud at converting her beautiful designs into stamps and Groovi plates.
I’m sure I remember Jane ringing into the show and how delighted you all were.

I remember Jane well and yes she was a lovely person. Have a lot of these stamps and enjoy making cards with them. Off later to see the film about Bob Dylan – hope it is good.
