Happy 32nd Birthday, CLARITY!

Happy 32nd Birthday, CLARITY!

Hi there

Can you believe it’s been 32 years since Clarity was born in Santa Barbara? Where on earth does the time go?! That’s pretty much half my life – and it’s literally all of Grace and Mark’s lives!

Truth is, they’re the reason Clarity exists in the first place. I wanted to work from home, to be there when they went off to school and when they came back. Back then, “working from home” wasn’t really a thing—unless you were self-employed. So, with the help of my parents and brother, I built a little business that allowed me to do just that.

And here we are, 32 years later, and I’m still working from home! Today I’m not feeling well enough to go into the office, but thanks to that original setup, I can still carry on from home. It’s a perfect solution—even now. A chat with Paul first thing, some ideas sparking, and I thought: let’s blog and share a little with you.

We had planned a bumper birthday weekend—new designs, fresh ideas, exciting products—the whole Clarity shebang. That’s how it always used to be, remember? Back in the TV days we crammed everything into three mad days in September. But this year, we’re changing it up!

Instead of squeezing all the goodness into one weekend, why not spread the love across the whole month of September? Think of it like a lovely road trip—starting this Sunday—gentler for the driver, and so much nicer for the passengers too.

Throughout the month, we’ll be unveiling new designs, new stamps, new Groovi plates, and even new concepts. We’ll kick things off on Sunday at around 3pm with a little stroll down Clarity Street—literally!

Do you remember in the SHAC when we drew that lovely avenue of houses together? Remember these?

Well, I’ve been keeping a secret…I drew another street just for us: Clarity Street.

Then Jazz and I mapped out a Clarity Street Collection together. We deconstructed my drawing, and turned it into 2 sets of stamps. The first one gives you 5 complete houses. You can use as many as you like, and in any combination. The second set is the Build-a-House Set, where you can even pick which windows and doors you fancy This set is packed with all the fun stuff: cats, dogs, birds, bunting, chimneys – even house numbers and a bench! Masks are included, to help with composition too. So much creative fun!

Introducing Clarity Street!

2 x A5 Stamp & Mask Sets and 1 x A6 Stamp & Mask Set

The Clarity Art Team certainly enjoyed playing with these too!

We also constructed a cool, large A4sq Groovi plate, for our Parching Architects!

We then added printed Toppers & Tags to the mix. These are superb. I am looking forward to showing you a cool trick with our new, 1 inch brayers!

Check this out. All the detail, but in miniature…The orange paper is 2.5 x 3.5 inches…

Next up, introducing a rather splendid fella: Mr Painter. I hope you like him! Great for fun art! It’s the mask that makes this set so clever! Tune in on Sunday to see what I mean…

A5 Stamp & Mask Set

A5sq Groovi Plate too…

How about some Triangle People? You have already seen them last month when we launched the A5 Stamp Set, they are now available in A6 & A4 Stamp Sets. We launched the large ones at the Retreats, fo a special technique. More will be revealed on Sunday…

Here’s something we can work on together …

How does this sound? Once a month, on a Thursday evening, we can get together for a Craftalong – we’ll fill our blank journal or calendar TOGETHER. I’ll tell you more about it on Sunday. It will be a great arty monthly craftalong – and it will be FREE. The Calendars are just a great Art Storage Idea!

Everything is available from 5pm on Saturday HERE if you want to shop ahead

Please note that we will be going live just after 3pm on Sunday, as the UK government will be carrying out a National Test of the Emergency Alerts system at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate – even if your device is on silent mode. So we’ll let that pass before we go LIVE!! They must know it’s our birthday, and they want to give us a big HURRAH!!

See you at just past 3 tomorrow!

Love always

  1. Hi Barbara
I love Clarity Street, what a great idea and I’m glad you have included some cats. Count me in for the calendar/journal craft along, that sounds like fun.
See you tomorrow at 3.01ish. Hope you are on the mend.
    Lots of love
    Zara xx

  2. I know what i’m doing tomorrow now!!
Just got the September Club stamp – I’m happy to report that I am not a bit bothered about not getting a card now – BECAUSE ,if you have been looking at my calendar pages on the Clarity pages, my next one is November, which is my birthday, so I’m sending one to myself!! (sorry about any typing errors these days, I’m waiting for the cataracts to get dealt with. Did you know that the DVLA have a special form for cataracts? It is a legal requirement to advise them of cataracts).
    Lots of love
    Maggie (York UK)

  6. With suitable apologies to Sesame Street, let’s have a birthday sing-along!

    SHAC SHAC day,
    Craftin’ the clouds away,
On my way to where the Craft is sweet,
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Clarity Street?

    Craft and play,
    Everything’s A-OK,
    Friendly crafters everywhere,
    Where we Craft and meet,
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Clarity Street?
    🤣👍🏻
Happy 32nd Birthday Barbara, Dave, Paul and all of the awesome Team Clarity! Looking forward to a whole month of fantastic Clarity celebrations!

  7. Wow, does your brain ever sleep Barbara? Lol. How do you keep coming up with all these fab designs……..32 years and still going. You’re just amazing, and I know, team work makes the dream work. Congratulations Team Clarity.

  8. I haven’t been around for most of this year. My friend, Bea, (now 95) has been very unwell and I’m now her fulltime carer. We’ve been with Clarity since the beginning (and Imagina before it became Clarity) and Barbara when she was Santorelli -I still have magazine articles with those names! Also the original Club sheets with paste-in photographs! It has been an amazing journey seeing the developments and , strangely, lockdown and the SHAC seemed to start a whole new era. Long may Clarity continue and I’ll watch from the sidelines and maybe join in again in the future.

  9. Happy 32nd Birthday to Clarity & hope there are many more to celebrate. Hope you are feeling better & glad that you are taking it slow & working from home although by the look of all the ideas appearing you haven’t switched off completely. Although I would imagine these have been in the pipeline for a few weeks now so looking forward to a birthday month rather than just a few days to see what else appears.
Thanks for the reminder of the 3pm test – we thought it was the other day & couldn’t understand why our phones didn’t respond.

  10. What lovely ideas.
Sorry you still aren’t feeling any better, I hope you feel better soon.
I’m working tomorrow so will watch later.

  11. Happy Birthday Clarity Crafts – and here’s to many more. The lovely original designs keep coming – Thankyou! Just love working with them!

Take care Barbara – hope you feel better soon!

  12. Happy birthday Clarity.
I am really looking forward to the Sunday show and a relaxing afternoon’s tv having spent the last 10 days in taxis going to and from the hospital. Finally hubby is home, such a relief.
Hope your health is improving day by day. Don’t work too hard, let others help. It’s hard to slow down when so many ideas are buzzing in your brain but take it gently until you are fully well.
    Hugs 🍒

  13. Happy 32nd Birthday to Clarity. And loving all the new goodies you have shown us. Today is my 60th Birthday, so it would be rude not to treat myself to some birthday goodies – that’s my excuse, anyway!
Looking forward to the show tomorrow, and the rest of the month.
I hope you are feeling a bit better. Xx

  20. Happy birthday, Clarity: 32 years, what an achievement. I’ve only been a Clarity fan club member for about 12/13 years (since retiring and moving to Bexhill. I fell in love with all things Clarity after catching you on television whilst idly scrolling through).
I’m on a coaching holiday atm in the Chester area so will have to catch up properly when I get back. Love all the new artwork.
I am sincerely grateful too, that you can work from home giving you the opportunity to rest when needed until full recovery is achieved.
Take care and once again congratulations on reaching your 32nd birthday. x

  21. Happy Clarity birthday!
May not engage as much as I used to but still love the products, ideas and tips and tricks. Got a busy Sunday so may not get chance to watch live but will find time to watch on catch up at some point. Take it easy though Barbara, health is priority. X

  22. Happy Birthday Clarity!
I’m grateful to read your blog. I’ve felt a bit detached from things for the last few weeks as we emptied the house of almost everything (including all the carpet gripper!)
But finally, today, I’ll be sitting in a hotel room hoping the hotel WiFi can keep up with Clarity for 2 hours of peace and quiet and a crafty celebration.
Although most of our stuff is in a container, I kept a sketch pad and some pencils out. So I might try doodling a street whilst you’re showing is all the tricks and techniques.
Buying might be on the back burner. I’ve got a huge number of crates of crafting stuff 🫣(much of it from Clarity) and it was kindly suggested that I should concentrate on using what I had before buying more!! 🤭 We shall see 😉

Thank you to the Clarity team for all that you do for us. Enjoy your month of Clarity celebrations but do please look after yourselves.
    hugs, Alison

  24. Sorry to hear that you are still feeling really poorly, Barb. What a bind for you! As the song says – the only way is up. Just look after yourself and congratulations on 32 years of Clarity. Hxx

  25. Dear Barb, I wish you better soon, I’m sorry you are still feeling poorly. Happy 32nd Birthday to you and Clarity. I can just see that this may turn into an expensive month. Love the artwork, so much possibility with the stamps and Groovi plates. Looking forward to the shows. Bx
