98 Days to Christmas – Bag O Tags!

98 Days to Christmas – Bag O Tags!

Hi there!

98 days before Christmas, and counting! I’m quite enjoying the structure of the blog again, getting back into it, One Day at A Time, and looking at all our Christmas stamps and stash! I’ve also been thinking about other things, like competitions, jokes, limericks – we do love a limerick!

Yesterday we looked at how to enhance your cards with the Nested Square Embedders. Today, we’ll use the same stamp set, but focus on even smaller cards, notelets and tags.

Here’s a lovely little notelets set, made by Shelagh. The cards are straight forward (see yesterday’s step by step). But these toppers are trimmed and mounted on 4inch square cardlets.

If you want to learn how Shelagh made the nifty little folded envelopes, check out the Monday TV Show. HERE. I deconstructed one in the show, so you can see how to put it back together.

Here’s a simple set of cardlets again, just Black Archival ink. The tag has been cut using our Luggage Tag Fresh Cut die...HERE

The sentiment stamps are taken from our new I AM ESSENTIAL RANGE HERE. They are ideal for cards and tags of all sizes.

Here’s another little set of tags and a folding cardlet, made by Shelagh Metselaar. Hats off to her and many thanks, for always coming up with new and lovely ideas for us. Have you met Shelagh? She’s Scottish. Really classy lady – like her artwork.

I think I’ll cut a load of blank tags this year, this weekend actually, using that Tag die. Then I’ll use those backdrop stamps to decorate them. I say this weekend, because it is always the tags that catch me out! I never seem to have enough tags for Christmas. And even if I do, Grace and Mark come home from the States at Christmas, go into power gift packing mode, and the annual request ALWAYS is, “Have you got any gift tags, Mum?”. SO. This year, I’ll be ready for them!!

The other thing I really should have at home is our Bag O Tags!! . Always great for a quickie solution. For ANY occasion.

Time to go find a Bag O Tags in the warehouse! I have it on good authority that the ladies LOVE counting and picking them! Hahaha! Not.

Love always,

Barb x x x

  1. Thanks for the Christmas countdown (I think!) and your blog. I’m not a stamper (although I do have quite a bit of stamping stash in the cupboard 😂) but love seeing the beautiful artwork showcased on this ‘ere blog.
I am really lazy about Christmas as all young recipients of gifts from me and OH are not nearby on the day and are old enough and appreciate cash bank transfers especially atm.
I do like to make them each a Groovi card so your countdown is a reminder to get going: hopefully I can combine everything I’ve learned from the fabulous 123 Groovi courses.
    Take care.
With lots of love and appreciation.

  2. Loving your Christmas countdown Blogs, Barb. Shelagh’s artwork is so inspirational!
You mentioned we like a limerick – how about this?
A lovely Scots artist named Shelagh,
Of Inspiration, she is a revealer,
    She inked and she stamped,
    Her creativity never cramped,
And her Gallery is quite the scene stealer!
    😄👍🏻

    1. Lovely ideas again! Thankyou Barbara and Thankyou Shelagh for your inspiration!
Barbara, sounds like you will be really ahead of things for Christmas!x

  3. Yep…….gift tags always seem to disappear just when you need them. For once I actually have the die for just that reason so plan, like you, to have a good old replenish the stash session.

  4. Great idea to get the tags done so they are all ready when the gift wrapping starts. A couple of hours die cutting would a) use some of my mountain of card & b) prove I need the dies going forward !!
Need to have a look at my Christmas stamp stash as well – that’s one set that hasn’t got packed away yet !! I also have my Groovi plates so just need to get into the swing of doing Christmas stuff x

  5. Great idea, I’ve yet to make my own tags, don’t have a lot to wrap but would be nice to be prepared ! Love a limerick – reading them at least – not so good as Ken at making them 😹 xx

  6. following yesterdays tutorial – I had a play with my embedders last night. Oh dear…..made a right horlicks of it. It may have been the card was too thick (300 gsm) do you recommend a particular weight please? I am dying to try these new stamps, thank you for giving us loads of ideas!

PS please excuse any spelling mistakes – the cataracts have gotten much worse recently – am at the hospital soon!

  7. Thank you Sheilagh, nifty envelope idea, thanks Ken for making me smile, and thank you Barb for this daily blog. Always inspiring.

I am Grooving this afternoon while waiting for a stamp delivery which should arrive tomorrow .📦 No hospital appts next week so will get lots of crafting done. Hooray 🙌.

  8. The Bank Manager says oh no!
When Barb says she’s having a show!
    But who cares we shout,
We don’t give a clout as
It goes in our baskets no doubt !

Not sure where that came from because if you asked me to do one I couldn’t !
