93 Days to Christmas – OPEN DAYS AND WORKSHOPS .

Hi there

The Clarity Christmas Open Days and Workshops are on the horizon too, so let’s have a look at your calendar, and have a think about a little mini break darn sarf!

When and where, I hear you ask…

WHERE….

We all get together in a brilliant hall near Maidstone, Kent. It’s a village called Ditton. Easy to get to. I discovered it years ago, when I was invited to attend a huge WI Conference there. It was quite a prestigious affair, and women from all over the world attended. Quite something. So you can imagine, the hall is spacious, with ample parking!

WHEN?

We have a crafting Christmas party for 2 days, on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November. Come along for a day or two, full of fun, laughter and inspiration from Barbara and members of the Clarity design team.

WHAT’S GOING ON?

Several of our clever Clarity artists gather together in a round, and demonstrate new and lovely techniques, designs and ideas. On the Parching side, we welcome Linda WiIliams, Louise Golding and Jane Telford. On the inky side, Sam Crowe, Janice Phillips and Deborah Wheeler. Paul Church is always demonstrating cool gadgets and dies, and the line up may well be added to! I’m hoping I can talk Eileen and Martine to join in too. Watch this space.

We run multiple make and takes both days too. In June at the Summer Open Days, the Make & Takes sold out so fast, I thought we might increase the sessions from 2 to 3 this time. Hazel Edwards, Tina Morris and Sarah Brennan will be hosting those. Looking forward to those. They always create a creative buzz! There will be a Snip Clinic too, for friends who want to improve their picot cutting skills. I hope with all my heart that Glynis can make it this year – it ain’t the same without her…

Then there’s the hourly raffles, special offers, Snip Clinic and a £100 prize draw and free parking, what more could you ask for! If you are into Stamps, Stencils, Parchment Craft, Dies and all things crafty, then we have it covered at Clarity! Refreshments and freshly made sandwiches also available, crafted by our lovely ladies in the kitchen!

We erect a proper pop-up shop, display wonderful art samples, and have great discounts for our guests – who love being able to talk to the experts, shop in peace, actually look at the products, speak to us about them.

But I think the best part of all of it is the companionship, the get together, the sitting, talking over tea and cake in the “Coffee Area”, the meeting of friends and people with the same passion for art and making.

In a nutshell:

  • Date: Saturday 15th November 2025
  • Times: 9am-4pm
  • Cost: £10 per day (includes a free hot drink and a minced pie)
  • Venue: Ditton Parish Council, The Community Centre, Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, Aylesford, Kent, ME20 6AH

Make & Take

Enjoying the day

Happy it is finished? Or Happy it is all set to go?

My Mum will be there with me, as always, which is great. And I will try and make more pottery for this occasion. I’ve made a few birds already for raku, and I’m trying out some porcelain candle holders for this Christmas show. It’s all about time.

If you’re staying on for the weekend, then how about a whole day, with Linda Williams or myself?

One Day Workshops

Clarity workshops welcome crafters of all abilities – they’re fun-filled, educational days that will leave you wanting more.

Use of all materials and equipment is included, and a sandwich lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the days. All you need to do is find somewhere to stay and we even have a list of local hotels to help you with that!

£125 less Club discount

All of our tickets can be bought HERE If you require any additional information please give us a call on 01732 868215.

I do hope you can join in and make it. I know it means planning, and maybe a hotel stay (we’ll help you with that), but it’s always been such a special affair. We work hard to make it the magical creative time it is.

Do you remember ? Last year we had carol singing! It was so lovely. A proper celebration of Clarity, Craft, Community – and Christmas!

  1. I enjoy the Open Days very much – such a priviledge to watch and listen to the demos from the amazing artistic team – and just lovely to spend the days with people who understand and share the passion!

I hope to be able to come to the Christmas Open Days but need to discuss with my husband as it’s our 38th wedding anniversary on the 14th………

  2. I do hope you have lots of people joining you in November as it is a fabulous 2 days of hints, tips, shopping & lots of crafty chatter & companionship. Plus of course the hourly raffle & carol singing !!
For those not sure it is well worth thinking about it. The last twice we have travelled down by train from the West Midlands through London to Maidstone – all part of the adventure & stayed at The Travel Lodge in Maidstone ( I then caught the bus to the TA Centre Ditton & walked through to the Community Centre) also the Hamlet Hotel ( I managed to get a lift from Beryl & her son in law).
Sadly at this moment in time I can’t see me getting there in November due to ongoing walking problems – tests suggest disc problems so waiting for another appointment with the Consultant to discuss what is next. I am so glad I made it in June & bought a little bird on a log which is sat on my bookshelf & each time I look at it it reminds me of those great Clarity times we have had together over the years.
One Day at a Time – Keep Crafting

  3. Bought an early numbered ticket. One of the highlights of the year and even changed a holiday to attend the summer one last year. Fantastic days. Thanks to the whole team who make it so special. Xx

  4. So excited to be a part of the Open Days once again this November.
It’s so humbling to be one of the Clarity community, meeting old friends, making new friends and being in a room full of inspiring artists and human beings.

To anyone not sure about coming, maybe you’re on your own, fear not, I can promise you a warm welcome and before you know it, you’ll have made a dozen friends!!!

See you all in 7 weeks time xx

  5. Sadly my husband who is 92 is not well enough for me to leave him and travel all the way down from Cheshire. How about doing something like the demonstrations on line and charging us a little extra money over the open day tickets for you to send us out the bits and pieces for us to try and a raffle so we would still feel like we could join in and support you? I hope you sell lots of tickets and are well supported.

And so’s the big fat man with the weirdy white beard!
Oh, hang on that’s Ken – yep he’ll be there as well! 🤣😁

  7. Looking forward to coming to the open day. Hopefully I’ll bring one or two granddaughters as they love to craft and it would be good for them to see the experts at work x

  8. Sadly, not possible for me at the moment, I’m glad I made one when I first retired though so I’ve had the experience. I will enjoy everyone else’s experiences though ! X
