It’s New at Clarity – and it’s Hot !

Thanks for popping in. If you were at the Open Days last weekend, you will have watched Paul playing in the corner!! Hahahaha. Well actually, he was demonstrating loads of tricks and ideas using our latest product range: Hot Foil Kits.
This Hot Foiling process has been around for a while, but here at Clarity we have put our own spin on it – and you were certainly impressed with what Paul showed you!
So tomorrow, at 10am and 2pm, Paul and I will be launching the technique on our Clarity TV. All you need is a good laminator. We have sourced a great one, top quality, made in Germany, which does the job brilliantly. We know that many of you already have a laminator, but in case you want a brand spanking new one, we have a few in the cupboard for you.
There are three kits : Gold, Silver and Rose Gold. So you get 2 metres of top quality foil. And I will say, that not all foils are this good. We tried several before we found this manufacturer. Great quality.
When we were testing whether what was in my head actually worked, when we were doing our Research & Development , we stumbled across something new and exciting. And it involved the waste, the part of the foil that you usually throw away! It’s that negative art again! The inverse. Picture the scene…
There were a bunch of us at Clarity, all in the room, all watching as the laser prints with our designs were foiling beautifully. But each time a fabulous foiled image emerged from the laminator, there was a lot of foil left. So we put our thinking caps on, there was a lot of back and forth, and eventually we cracked it! A really neat way to use the scrap too! Really brilliant! Teamwork makes the dream work!
Now each of the three kits contains everything you need to use all the foil – the positive AND the scrap.
Each Kit contains:
20cm x 2m Foil
12 x A5 Laser Printed Design Sheets (Pictures and images)
8 x A5 BOW-WOB Laser Printed Sheets
10 x A4 Colour Laser Printed Sheets
8 x Waxed Paper Carrier Sheets

Incidentally, each kit contains different coloured foil, different design sheets, different BOW-WOB papers and different colour-flooded sheets.

I love, love, loved these at the open days they made everything look so elegant, and as you got a twofer every time by using the waste it was a no brainer. You always blow me away with everything you bring out, thank you for keeping me inspired to strive to try new things. You’re all amazing.

It was fascinating watching how it all worked over the 2 Open Days as Paul & Sam discovered different ways to use the foil & the waste.
Will be watching the shows tomorrow either live or on catch up to see what else you have all discovered. It will be also useful having the shows on catch up so I can rewatch as I do it myself. Wish now I had purchased the foil at the time but was restricted to how much I could get in my rucksack to carry home on the train & I didn’t want to crease the kits so will have to have some patience & wait for an order to be delivered. The finished effect of the foil is a game changer on the difference it makes to a hand made card x
I’m interested to see the foiling but doubting I’ll have the room to fit any more stuff in – might give me the impetus for a bigger clear out of stuff! Can’t wait to see how it works as it’s something I’ve seen in passing but never followed through with. X

Hot foiling was something I dabbled with in the past but it got sidelined when I started parchment work. It will be interesting to see what you geniuses have come up with, it will surely be fascinating. I know where my laminator and other gear is so will dig it all out over the weekend.
We are going to be out tomorrow. Our surgery has teaching sessions for NNUH students in respiratory medicine and last year OH was asked if he would allow some second year students to examine him. It must have been a success as he has once again been asked to assist, this time with first year students.
By the time we get home it will be soothing to relax watching back to back shows with you and Paul on TV. Then I will have to consider the possibility of an extension as the house is rapidly filling up.
