Hi there
Picked up a kebab on the way home from Clarity Towers, from the local Kebambulance, (I kid you not!). Woofed it down as soon as we’d fed Erik and Ragnar the cats, (No. Not Doner!) I ate more of the salad than Dave, just cos it’s healthier (and he won’t eat anything that’s been even NEAR cucumber! 😂)
It was real soul food. Hot and spicy. And a £9 portion was more than enough for both of us! We know how to live. We don’t eat them often, but tonight we decided to celebrate.
WE DID IT !!!! WE ACTUALLY DID IT!!!
Did what? We put together a real LIVE TV show which streamed on Facebook and YouTube, complete with 4 cameras, Paul as presenter, me as demonstrator, Jim on Cameras and Screenwork, Jilly on Customer care, Grace on online Chat & Customer care, Sue, Pete and Jazz on telephones (Our UK Call centre! 😂😂😂). Then outside the building, we had our brilliant design team supporting and promoting, sharing and marshalling. Absolutely spot on.
And, as they say in the Bible, it was good.
Here we see Paul in full flow, and me pretty much along for the ride!
Over 800 people came to watch, join in and shop. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would have so many viewers. Of course, a few came just to see what was going on. But to be sure, when there are still 650 watching after 2+ hours, those good people were there because they were enjoying what we were doing. I cannot tell you how much we appreciate the support.
It’s all been pushed through and put in place since Friday morning. That’s quite an achievement! And do you know what? I didn’t have to ask a single member of staff to come into work on Sunday to help. They all, and without exception, straight up volunteered. They were all there first thing this morning. Dave too. He drove me in! (Just in case I did a detour and headed for Dover!!) But seriously folks, do you know how good it feels to have that kind of loving support and team spirit? Of course, we’re all in it together. But boy oh boy! Did I truly grasp what Teamwork means today.
See the sign above Paul, that says, LIVE in the Solution ? Dave printed that this morning quickly on his old platen press – the ink was still wet. I do love that guy!!
Of course, there’s room for improvement…
1. The time lag was a bit extreme, which was down to the fact that the system had been on since 8am, so it built up. All we needed to do was shut the system down and reboot.
2. My volume couldn’t be adjusted without rebooting the whole show either, because we were using a new sound/vision mixer.
So here’s my question to you. Do you tell 800+ people you’re just going to switch everything off and then on again, and to come back? Precisely!! Hahahahaha.
We know for next time. But I do think it’s got legs, don’t you? Now it’s time for Z’szzzzzzzzz.

No wonder you are tired with all that adrenaline. The show was fab, we all loved it. So nice not to have the time pressure of the usual tv show and we got to chat like we do in the Shac, fab!

It was fab ! Thoroughly enjoyed it in peace and quite as poor hubby was ‘ill’ in bed after his covid and flu jabs. He got up at 5.30 and starting to come round a bit now! You all did great ! It was fantastic. Great to watch Barb and Paul bounce off each other. Seeing through a demo without annoying presenters butting in. Great demos and hints and tips. Please do it again. I’m a groovier, but thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the 2hours and more. Maybe a Groovi demo next. 🤔

Well done. Yes there were a few snaffus but for a first time and at such short notice it all worked brilliantly. In fact I enjoyed it more than C&C. Practice makes perfect so I look forward to more of the same.

Absolutely enjoyed the show and you all did amazingly well. You wouldn’t know that the show had been put together at such short notice. My piggy bank is now a little lighter.

Ever since I discovered the shac shac in lockdown I have been very very privileged to feel part of the very special Clarity family. Everything you do for us is second to none.
I may not always have the funds to buy everything I want immediately but rest assured everything I do buy is 100% Clarity all the way, nothing else will do, or comes close!!

Loved the relaxed format allowed us to see the design team samples properly with explanations of how they were made. The demos were brilliant and they didn’t have to be rushed, so we saw plenty of hints and tricks. You and Paul were just naturals bouncing off each other, so good to know you were backed up by your loyal team…. Design team went the extra mile with the build up on Social Media. Real proof that Teamwork really does make the Dream work. I have always loved Clarity and am so pleased for you all❤️

I can only imagine the time and effort that the whole team had to put in to pull off this afternoon. It was so professional but at the same time felt friendly and relaxed. I hope that it was successful for you in terms of sales as that might mean you will do more of your shows this way 😊

Wow, Barb, that was amazing! Fantastic all round performance in front of and behind the cameras! Perfect Teamwork produced a perfect presentation of all things Poppet! Oh what a Circus, Oh what a Show and by Circus I mean ENTERTAINING, from start to finish. I caught the last 45 mins of the show live when I got home (an extra treat as you didn’t get guillotined at 3 mins to 5!), then was able to go straight back to the beginning and watch the rest! You guys absolutely pulled it off – I can’t begin to imagine how much hard work went into setting it all up in such a short timescale, but it was a real testament to the fantastic Clarity team. And no team works without a leader – you just rock Barbara!!
Whatever the future brings, there is always a path through it xxx

I have only just seen this blog but I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the show and thank you and your team for it. As usually you were very inspirational and I learnt a lot.
